1800's Solid Cherry Marble Top and Backsplash Buffet, Server, Washstand
You are bidding on a beautiful solid cherry very unique piece of furniture. I have been using it in my foyer for years but it could be used for a sofa type piece behind a sofa that didn't sit against a wall. It would make a nice buffet or server in a kitchen or dining room. It would be great used as a vanity in a bedroom or bath but it would be absolutely georgous with a sink mounted either in it or one of those kind where the bowl sits on top of the cabinet. It would be great. If it would fit in my bathroom I wouldn't be selling it but unfortunately my bathrooms are all way to small. Please pay close attention to the photos. They are self explanatory. There are two deep drawers that will hold lots of stuff with beautiful brass handles. The drawers are made of solid oak so they will be extra sturdy. Here is an exquisite. Massive, Antique 19th cent. American(probably Horner) quarter sawn oak sideboard buffet server. Straight out of a Long Island estate. Was in the same family for 70 years. This piece was made around 1880 and represents carved oak at its best. Incredibly carved with lions' heads. Paws, ribbons, and scrolls. Doors are all carved scrolls with center cartouche. They are separated by 2 columns of carved ribbons and fruit. The drawers above have handles of lions' faces. The top is crowned with an incredible lion head. The only condition issues are a small ring stain and a darker area on the top front right. Also a thin slit in the wood appx 18 inch long. These are very minor and can easily be fixed. Scranton Attic. Kroehler Mid Century Modern Walnut Server/ China Cabinet. Wonderful. Walnut server made by"Kroehler" around the middle of the previous century. It is a single unit; the top and bottom halves do not separate. The lower half has a 2-door cabinet and 3 drawers. The upper half has a single door cabinet, another cabinet with 2 sliding glass doors, and 3 drawers. I think the round drawer pulls are original, and the door pulls are replacements. There is an adjustable shelf in both upper cabinets. The shelf in the glass door cabinet has a groove running from side to side. To allow you to stand your China. Unfortunately, we only have 3 of the shelf pins to hold the shelves in place; more could be purchased at a hardware store. The upper 3 drawers are lined with black felt, and have a wooden divider in the middle running from ... morefront to back for utensils. Restoration: This piece was salvaged from an affluent home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. When we found it. The finish was faded by sunlight and the wood was dry. Since then. We've oiled the piece several times to re-moisturize the wood and bring out the original beauty of the finish. We cleaned the glass doors and the hardware. We also tightened all screws from top to bottom, and now it's frame is tight and sturdy. The finish. For the most part is in very good condition. However, there are a few spots where the finish is in fair condition(i.e. the top of the lower cabinet and the sides) I personally look at it as a unique characteristic that provides insight into the server's past, and also as the character marks that distinguish it from any other piece like it. There are neat deeply colored marbled Butterscotch Bakelite vertical pulls on all drawers and doors. This buffet was used so it does show wear here and there. French Sideboard Buffet Server, Vintage/Antique, Solid Cherry, Louis XV style
Offered for sale is a Beautiful French Cherry Antique Server/Buffet/Sideboard. This sideboard features beautifully hand-carved details. Four dove-tailed drawers and four doors each with 2 adjustable shelves and scroll feet. The hardware is solid brass and the cherry grain is gorgeous. The drawers include mahogany and ash wood. This sideboard measures 41" high x 87 1/2" wide x 21" deep. The cabinet has locks, but we do not have the key. The sideboard is in excellent overall condition with light scratches on the top surface(see pics#5, 6) It appears a prior owner sanded the top very smooth but did not refinish the top with varnish. The back of the sideboard does not have any manufacturer's signature. From the research we conducted on the piece, we learned that this was common with most French pieces from the 19th century. ... moreMany of them did not include a makers/manufacturer's signatures or markings. Gourgeous inlaid mahogany Federal style sideboard. This contemporary reproduction has all of the hallmarks of one of these iconic pieces. The gracefully curved bow front shape is supported by slender tapered square legs. Contrasting inlay work decorates the drawer fronts and cabinet doors and cascades down the front in a series of bell-shaped flowers. The top drawer has been sectioned off and lined with green velvet. There is a serial number on the back of the piece. But there are no maker's marks. This piece is in very good condition. There is some light wear associated with use but no damage. Good overall condition, This quaint English oak sideboard was made around 1940 and is the perfect size for a variety of places in the home. The shaped back splash has a beveled mirror and the cabinet doors are decorated with carvings in the outside upper corners. The drawers slide in and out easily and the cabinet doors both lock with included key. The inside of the right drawer used to have ... moregreen felt that was partially removed. Leaving the inside of the drawer with a green tinge(see picture) There is normal wear throughout in the form of tiny dings here and there, but overall this buffet is in very good condition and quite sturdy. The drawers are made with hand cut dovetails which gives you an idea of the high level of craftsmanship that went into this sideboard. The sideboard is 36" tall to the counter and 46.5" tall to the top of the back splash. Plenty of storage space in this sideboard! The cabinet doors both lock. These carved decorations adorn the outside upper corners of the doors. Each drawer has two solid brass pulls. The drawers are made with hand cut dovetails. The right drawer used to have green felt inside. Now it has a green tinge from where that felt was removed. The counter top has minor wear in the form of tiny dings or stains.
