There is some slight darkening/wear on the very front center top of the credenza. As seen in photos 7& 8. There are some faint teak oil streaks as seen in photos 5& 6.The bottom rim, where the doors slide, has some markings, as seen in photos 9& 11. The piece features double sliding doors that open to reveal two open storage areas. Each with a single removable shelf. At the middle are 3 spacious drawers for a ton of additional storage. You could easily find or make taller legs if needed as they unscrew from the case. So far I know neither the maker or the designer. Probably the distinctive drawer pull detail will help identify. HELLO AND WELCOME You are viewing a stunning Danish Modern 2 piece credenza by Clausen& Sons for Silkeborg Made in Denmark The credenza has three sliding panels that open to reveal two shelves in each section for a total of six shelves inside the bottom plus a very nice sliding drawer lined in green felt material. The top section has four long and lean shelves with 2-lights behind each section- plug in type. It takes the tiny blubs which I just put in two new ones for you. The glass is a smoked brown tinted glass with indent handles that slide on a track. The teak veneer is very beautiful and rich in color. This is a very strong. Solid and heavy Credenza! The back of the 2 pieces is fine- I just could not move it by myself to take a picture. On the back there is a silver label at the corner bottom that reads: Clausen& Sons for Silkeborg ... moreMade in Denmark- also there is a plastic hook to hand the extra cord from the lights Measurements are: for the credenza- 72 1/2 inches in length- width-18 inches- height of just the credenza-28 1/2 inches tall for the top portion- 72 1/2 inches in length- width-11 1/2 inches-height of just the top portion- for the shelving inside the top portion- 10 1/2 shelves and 8 1/2 inch shelves- inside width 14 inches Condition: teak veneer finish does have minor wear- please see all pictures for any scratches. Marks etc. I have tried to capture all of them there isn't many- the noted ones are-one scratch on the left bottom panel-one on the side bottom piece- also the middle shelf brace in the center of the bottom has been replaced. This only visible when the middle door is open. This was purchased at an Estate Sale and whom ever owned it took very good care of it thru the years! There is also an extra set of holes(4 on each side) at the upper interior. There was likely once a full depth shelf here which you could so easily make if so desired. The piece is finished off with solid teak turned wood legs. Brutalist Danish Modern Mid Century Teak Credenza Paul Evans? Sculptural Dresser
Brutalist Danish Modern Credenza with Headboard or Backboard This may be a Paul Evans peice I am not sure. He has one that looks very similar with different finish. This is a very unusual find. I can not find one like on google images or mid century sites. Nice credenza with three drawers, two doors with a single shelf in each cabinet. Drawers glide effortlessly and doors work well, I will be installing a new hinge on the left door which I did not do before the photos. That is why it has an uneven gap in the photos. The counter surface and face to this piece are in very good condition, nearly without blemish. The corners and base have more wear, to them. The finish is in really good shape as well as the structure. The left side as a noticeable gouge though it will probably go unnoticed as it is near the wall and floor, the left stile has ... morea chip on top and the bottom, not too noticeable with the stain over them, the far right has a minor chip to the bottom corner, not noticeable, there is a chip to the top right corner also, again not very noticeable. These veneered pieces are notorious for snagging and chipping in these places. The base had some splintering from catching on the floor in the past. I have fixed any loose pieces so that damage won't get worse. Put a little stain on them which makes them blend it well. As a former custom cabinet maker and finisher. This would all go unnoticed to me until I looked harder at the piece. I would say that it does not detract from the general appearance of the piece at all even more so because the brutalist style breaks up the lines so much. The board behind the piece is a headboard I believe. I set it up on the credenza for display and it is fitting there. You may have other preferences. It worked well for the photo though. This is in good shape with one screw hole on the top left corner. I know how it is to buy over a computer and I like to feel. Comprised of both solid teak and rich teak wood veneer over real wood(no mdf) The piece features two sliding doors that open to reveal an open interior storage space with a single adjustable height shelf on one side and two adjustable height slide out birch wood drawers on the other. The shelf and drawers have 7 height adjustments(2 1/2" increments) or can be removed all together, so you have many size options for your storage. Cool circular teak pull handles are integrated into the doors themselves and the credenza is finished off with solid angular ... moreteak wood leg/ base support adding a nice touch of elegance. Leg base will remove for more compact shipping. measurements Overall 33 3/4" wide by 15 3/4" deep by 29 7/8" high.
