Free Shipping Condition: Used Location: La Grange, United States This is a credenza designed by Florence Knoll and made by Knoll. It is a wonderful example of the Bauhaus ideals of her design work. She resisted being ... morecalled a furniture designer and self-deprecatingly described her furniture designs as“architectural fill-ins” for the gaps around the designs of other designers in the Knoll catalog like Harry Bertoia. Eero Saarinen, Mies Van Der Rohe, Isamu Noguchi etc. Yet the designs themselves have proven her wrong. Beyond the overall form and her leather pull handles. Which are a very well thought out softening of the“touch-points” of the design, this model credenza is quite variable. It was available with a wood, linoleum, or marble top. The legs were either chrome steel, black steel, wooded legs, or even no legs as a floating wall mount. The doors were wood, or white lacquer. The only standard internal components were the pair of shelves, and beyond that they could be specified with a bay of drawers, a file drawer bay, or a bay with pull-out electronics tray for a Dictaphone(the electronic voice recorded of the day, which recorded 15 minutes of speech onto a single use vinyl belt) This particular specimen has a very well balanced mixture of the variables. With a beautiful walnut case and walnut bypass doors, chrome steel legs, and all three optional bays(stack of drawers, hanging file drawer, and electronics tray) The interior is all oak. The drawers in the stack are all solid oak fronts and sides, with dovetail construction. They also have built in drawer stops, so you can’t accidentally pull the drawer all the way out and drop it. The hanging file drawer has metal slides to bear the extra weight. The pull-out electronics tray also has metal slides and the bay has a hole for cords. All the extra space in the bays has holes for the shelf hanger clips, so the pair of shelves can be re-arranged to match your needs. I have documentation from a Knoll catalog that this is model 541(which also shows that Florence Knoll was the designer of this series of models 540. 541, a

Otherwise light wear around the bottom of legs and inconspicuous wear to be expected with its age. The buffet looks great and from two feet the only damage that draws the eye is the scratch in front. Its the perfect piece for a those with limited or hard to fit space but still want the beauty and function of a LONG sleek credenza. There is literally zero footprint on the floor and its narrow depth allows placement in tight areas where most credenzas of this length would never work. Beautifully made of both solid teak and teak veneer over wood. It features a very wide open storage shelf space with two long sliding doors flanked on either side by 6 pull out drawers. Drawers are all felt lined and have lovely integrated teak ill handles. The piece can really take on different looks depending on how you place the doors(see the many many pics below for examples) or you could remove them if you want a ... morenice open display area. This is a very solid and super functional with nice detail and richness to the teak. It mounts to your wall via an integrated teak bar system using five wall anchors/ bolts. There is no visible means of support once up giving a very clean and slick look. We would suggest butterfly anchors for drywall and will include some with the credenza. The chest is comprised of both solid teak and teak veneer. Note the size next to the Eames LCW chair. The compact footprint is fantastic and while perfect for an entryway, it will allow for placement in just about any room in your home. Now lets talk function. You basically have three areas plus the top surface for storage. The top could be used to display some small vases ... moreand maybe a small tray or box for keys. Wallet etc. Below you have double sliding doors, each with a cubicle compartment behind them. In the middle are three pull out drawers that are bypassed by the doors when they are slid side to side. 1960s Mid-Century Danish Modern Triple Dresser Vintage Credenza Chest of Drawers
DESCRIPTION: Gorgeous 6' long Mid Century Modern walnut triple dresser/ credenza. In the Danish Modern style, dating from the late 1950s- early 60s. It features tons of storage space with 12 drawers total, very clean, straight and distinctive lines and spectacular wood grain throughout. A single cabinet door on the left side is adorned by star or flower like sculpted relief cut patterns and opens to reveal four drawers, while the right side of the unit has eight graduating drawers in two columns. The retro elliptical hardware on the drawer fronts enhances its atomic age charm. The chest of drawers is raised on Danish Modern style sculpted and tapered legs, braced by an attached spanner and is of high quality usually seen in Scandinavian furniture of this period. I have lots of Mid Century items listed and more on the way. These are hard to find and very sought after by designers a retro shelving wall unit it looks better in person my camera is junk and the pics aren't very good. You get the wall unit but NOTHING that is on it those items are just for scale purpose. This has 5 storage cabinets 1 of those has an extra shelf inside it. The other 4 shelves are adjustable so you can customize to your needs. Then there are 3 drawers in the left side. All of these cabinets can be moved around also. The rails unbolt so you can make this 1. 2 or 3 stacks wide. This is 85 wide and 75 tall and 16 deep. It is in good shape but does have normal wear the only real flaw is the locking mechanism in the center cabinet is missing. It is just like the mechanism in an old dresser and you can find them but honestly ... moreI don't lock anything in it so it's never been an issue and the door stays up without locking it so you can still use it. Each features two sliding door panels with integrated teak handles that open to reveal an open interior with a single full width shelf. Legs are solid turned teak stained beech and are removable for shipping. measurements Overall 31 1/2" wide by 23 1/2" high by 13" deep. There are some small mar marks on the top surfaces and some light fading on a couple of the sides. Over all the condition is good to very good. Varies from piece to piece. I would say the finishes are VERY good. The bench shows the most wear. The underside of one leg has extra screws going from the leg into the bench(pictured) The bench does have some small chips to the finish but is structurally sound. The bench legs are the earliest variation with rounded edges and the foot glides to the underside of the legs have been removed. The black lacquered cabinet also retains the original finish, very good condition and has the Herman Miller silver foil label. The top drawer sags very slightly as the inside runner is slightly worn(pictured) This can be adjusted. The blonde single door cabinet. I am selling my vintage credenza. The credenza was built by United Furniture Corporation I am guessing in the early 1960's. The model number is 62-140 LJ44. I believe the 62 stands for the year it was produced and the person I purchased it from stated that the credenza came with the home that his mother had purchased in the early 60's. The dimensions of the credenza are 74"L x 20"D x 28 1/2"H and the credenza is heavy. My guess around 150 to 200 pounds. The brass pulls are well crafted as is the credenza itself which is in great condition with minimal vintage ware. The piece just needs to be cleaned up and polished. On Jan-20-13 at 17:27:30 PST. I have for sale a vintage TV/ Radio console credenza. It is made of veneered teak wood. It has two doors in the front. And one shelf inside. the veneer on the shelf have lifted in several places) It maybe Danish or American made. The double magnetic door catch says: AJAX USA PAT NO. 2990201 The front face of the cabinet is embedded with metal support. stainless steel? So it can withstand heavy items placed on top. And not change the structural shape. The dimensions are: 32" wide. 19.5" deep, and 23.5" tall. With legs. It is 29.5" from the floor. It has 6" long square peg legs.
