Buffet Professional S1 Bb Wooden Clarinet - Refurbished (1973 Vintage)
Matching serial numbers 136153 indicating a 1973 silver plated manufacture. Wood is good with no cracks. In addition. There is a small repair to the lower tenon of the lower joint. Plating here is not bad with very mild wear. Clarinet was dismantled, all dirt and grime flushed out. The wood was oiled with almond oil. The instrument was given all new double bladder pads, and adjusted. I changed the upper tenon of the upper joint. Corking and spring action is very good, and the clarinet plays with that very beautiful buffet sound up and down. The mouthpiece is the Selmer USA. The case may be original. It is in good condition except that one latch is not working. Please check the pics- this is a very good professional S1 buffet. Comes with everything pictured. Clarinet is on sale locally. Buffet Professional (1964) Vintage R13 Bb Wooden Clarinet - Vandoren 5RV Mp.
Matching serial numbers 79708 indicating a 1964 manufacture. Clarinet is nicely restored and the R13 speaks for itself. Wood is good with no cracks. There is some small wear to the plating here and there. But not bad. Clarinet was dismantled, all dirt and grime flushed out. The wood was oiled with almond oil. The instrument was given all new double bladder pads. The tenons are good. I replaced much of the corking. I also replaced the thumb rest with an adjustable thumb rest. Corking and spring action is good, and the clarinet plays with that really beautiful golden age buffet sound up and down. The mouthpiece is a Vandoren 5RV. The case is non-original but in very good condition. Please check the pics- this is a very good R13. It plays very beautifully up and down. Comes with everything pictured. RARE Vintage Heywood Wakefield Buffet WALNUT FINISH
This is a rare pre 50's Heywood Wakefield Buffet. Very few of these were made in this special finish(see pic#1 and 5) These were created for a large Michigan based retailer as a private label item. Most often these are found in the clear birch finish or the more light brown"wheat" finish(pictures 2 thru 4) This was obtained from an estate sale in Michigan about 10 years ago and has mostly been in storage. It is a great. Heavy and strongly built piece of furniture! There is one slight scuff on the left side of the top, which looks like a slight"steam" burn. Otherwise this piece is in incredible condition for it's vintage status and rarity! Local pickup requires two men and a truck. Vintage Buffet Crampon Academy Model wood clarinet. There are no cracks in any of the wood and the cork to assemble the tube is tight. I didn't want to put vaseline on the cork. So just didn't push it all the way together. The key pads appear to have been replaced and seem to me to be in good condition. This clarinet was recovered from an abandoned storage locker, and I have no knowledge of it. The original case has no springs in the fasteners. They do not flip up when you open the case. The serial number is 42216, shown in photo#8. The little banner in the case says this is the finest clarinet ever made. hipping is a flat $22.00 in the Continental US. Thanks for looking.

Buffet Professional (1965) Vintage R13 Bb Wooden Clarinet - Charles Bay Mp.
Matching serial numbers 86390 indicating a 1965 manufacture. Clarinet is of the Golden Era of Buffet. Wood is good with no cracks. There is mild plating wear. But for the most part, it looks very nice. Clarinet was given all new pads and then put away. There are 10 cork pads most on the upper joint. The tenons are good. Corking is good. Spring action is good, adjustment is good, and the clarinet plays with that really beautiful golden age buffet sound up and down. The mouthpiece is Charles Bay, and the ligature is bonade. The case is non-original but in very good condition. Please check the pics- this is a very respectable R13. It plays very beautifully up and down. Comes with everything pictured. Vintage 50's era Buffet Crampon R13 A clarinet
Up for auction is a top quality early Buffet-Crampon R13 clarinet. Serial number 37806. This was built in about 1956. During Buffet's Golden Era with Robert Carree as their chief craftsman, the person who developed the R13 originally. It has a wonderful creamy, well-focused tone, good resistance and even scale, great intonation and excellent projection. It was overhauled about 4 years ago and the pads are still in great shape; you could take it out tomorrow and play it in any college or professional orchestra with excellent results. No cracks anywhere and the wood is in fine condition. The keys and rings have acquired a soft patina over the years, but are not worn and have an excellent feel and"grip" An adjustable thumb rest has been added(see photo of the back of the instrument) that is the only change or modification ever ... moremade on this horn. The case is a very nice double case from the early 1960's and the exterior leather is basically perfect on the case itself. The handle show slight signs of wear. And the velvet lining is showing the effects of 50 years of wear and tear(see photos of case interior) It wound not be very expensive to have a music store reline the case, however. Room for 4 barrels and two clarinets makes this a very useful kit for professional or university use. No mouthpiece is supplied, since advanced players tend to have strong preferences about mouthpieces already and probably already have the mouthpiece that they want. For example, I have been using a Gregory Smith Chedeville copy on this clarinet with excellent results. I have enjoyed this instrument for several years but no longer play symphony orchestra actively. I still have my R13 B flat. Though! Seriously, why spend $5000+ to buy a new instrument that is an imitation of this one. And is made of poorer quality granadilla wood(or synthetic wood) when you can have the original for big savings! This clarinet is in pretty good vintage shape. But will need a little work to restore it to it's former glory. There are a few minor scuffs and scratches and some overall wear to the finish. There is also two small cracks in the wood on the long piece nearest the neck. The cracks do not appear to go all the way through to the inside. The cork and pads will need to be replaced. Buffet Professional (1956) Vintage R13 Bb Wooden Clarinet - 2 Barrels-3 Mouthpc.
Matching serial numbers 53894 indicating a 1956 manufacture. Wood is good with no cracks. Plating is very much in tact. And the clarinet looks very good. Clarinet was dismantled, cleaned of all dirt and grime, keys and rods degreased and oiled, and the wood was given a coating of almond oil. It was given all new double bladder pads. The tenons are good. Corking is good. Spring action is good, adjustment is good, and the clarinet plays with that really early beautiful buffet R13 sound up and down. There are 2 barrels, the original at 65mm, and a nice upgrade- a Buffet Festival 66mm barrel that plays beautifully with the older R13. There are 3 mouthpieces- a Buffet(Chedville blank) a vintage Selmer, and a Gale mouthpiece- all in very good condition. There is also a ligature, cap, and some vandoren reeds. VINTAGE EVETTE CLARINET, BUFFET PARIS FRANCE F186G, HARD CASE
Up for auction we have a vintage Evette clarinet. Sponsored by Buffet, Paris, France. This is marked on all parts except the lower key section, it has F183 and then what looks like a G but might be a 6. It is hard to make out. There are two keys on this that need a spring in them and it needs one pad. Otherwise all the keys seem to work fine and all the pads look good. The mouth piece has also been worn, and has one small chip on the tip, so would probably have to be replaced. It also just needs to be cleaned, has some dust on it. I played clarinet several years ago, and this one seems to be a good piece if those few items were fixed. I will start this low to adjust for what it would cost to fix it. Buffet Crampon R13 A & Bb *Vintage* Clarinets Excellent Condition
Buffet Vintage A and Bb R13 Clarinets These have been occasionally used and well-maintained over the years. Always stored in a climate-controlled room. Periodically exercised, corks greased, etc. All of the wood is in fine condition-there are no cracks. No splits, no dents, no extreme shrinkage apparent, no loosening of rings, or of posts, or other maladies. There are very tiny scratches here and there. Tenon corks fit snugly except for the lower-most of the Bb(that fits the bell) which should be replaced. Keys and springs work fine; smooth light action. Nothing sticking or slow to return anywhere. The keys on the Bb are nickel plated. And the A has nickel silver keys. When last played(~2 years ago) All pads on both sealed very well; possibly by now some very minor adjustment may be in order here or there. There is a small cork on one of ... morethe keys of the A in need of replacement. There is no mouthpiece included. The case is of modern manufacture. Made in Japan. The A Clarinet was made around 1957. And the Bb, somewhere between 1964-1966. The serial numbers match on the Bb joints; the serial number on the A is only on the lower joint. Vintage Buffet Crampon& Cie A Paris Clarinet with Vintage Charles Bay Mouthpiece. Sold by Charles Bay himself to my father in 1969. Completely restored last year by Hickey's Music Center. Ithaca, NY. Work included disassemble and restore instrument body, clean keys, replace one post, replace thumb tube, replace one pivot screw, replace all tenon cork, replace all pads, replace all key cork, resurface tone holes as needed, fill and dress one crack, oil mechanism, adjust and regulate, play test, ultrasonically clean mouthpiece. Parts and labor came to $400.00 for restoration. I know little about clarinets, so I am going to describe to the best of my ability. The mouthpiece is stamped both Buffet Crampon. As well as Charles Bay, Ithaca, NY. Etched into the mouthpiece is the number 10534BF. Stamped below that is C. I don't know the ... morekey unless the A before Paris means something or the stamped C does. All the other parts are stamped with the Crampon stamp. The reed guard is Roy J. Maier product from Sun Valley, CA and holds four reeds( There is also a black and white item the size of a checker stamped Buffet Crampon and looks like bakelite. The case is lined with blue velvet, which is worn in several areas but completely original. Latches work well. Also included is Charles Bay's business card with the original bill of sale for $150.00 plus tax. Charles Bay was a customer of my father's and when my dad needed a clarinet for my brother, he set him up with this instrument. I have had two clarinetists play the instrument, both were very happy with the sound/tone. One offered my $300.00 for the mouthpiece and suggested I sell the items separately, but I prefer to keep it as one unit. If anyone has more information, I would be happy to receive it. VINTAGE BUFFET EVETTE & SCHAEFFER B FLAT CLARINET CASE (LIFTON FORTRESS)
This is a vintage. Buffet(Evette and Schaeffer) B flat clarinet case. The locking case(no keys for the lock) is red velvet on the inside and an orange/tan color on the outside. Structurally, the case is sound. The red velvet on the interior of the lid is sagging a little and needs gluing. The only evidence of repairs that I notice is evidence of hot gluing where the clarinet sits in the case on the hinge side edge. The case has no odd smells. The front latches still have spring(like new) when disengaged. There is a faint name on one side on the edge and the inside of the case is dirty. There are minor scratches on the exterior. Vintage Sideboard Buffet Carved Fruit Tiger Stripe Oak Marble Cabinet Large
Very large antique buffet/sideboard with carved fruit. The dimensions are about 88" high x 61" wide x 22" deep. There are three drawers and three doors with locks and key, all work fine. I believe the wood is oak, and there is some tiger striping as can be seen in the pictures. It's in good shape for it's age, there is some chipping of the veneer at the bottom and the marble is chipped on each end and there is a crack toward the center(you can see this in the pictures) Local pickup only.

Buffet crampon vintage clarinet in A model BC1231LV-2 (serial no 545629)
I bought this clarinet a couple of years ago with a view to learning it. And was told it was in full working order at the time. I have never got round to learning and am now selling it for this reason. It appears to be in good condition- no visible damage to the body and the pads are all intact- but I have to admit I don't have an expert eye. I'm happy to answer questions from potential purchasers, as long as you're willing to guide me. The clarinet is a vintage buffet crampon in the key of A. Made in 2005. It's serial number is marked on the first joint as 545639 and according to the BC website it's a BC1231LV-2 model. However there is a slight anomaly in that the barrel has the digits E11 imprinted on it. I have contacted Buffet Crampon about this but they have assured me that this model is in the key of A.
