1960 Vintage Evette Schaeffer Bb Clarinet by Buffet K Series
Offered is a vintage Evette Schaeffer Bb clarinet made by Buffet Crampon. Paris, France c.1960. Serial number K9303. The K Series began around 1953 during the Golden Age of Buffet musical instruments when Paul Evette and Ernst Schaeffer owned the company. According to the Buffet website, the Evette Schaeffer clarinet is almost identical to to the famed professional R-13. The only discernible differences are in the right hand pinky keys. There is also rumor that slightly flawed wood was saved for making the Evette Schaeffer model. Still identical to the R-13 in it's polycylindrical bore and undercut tone holes on the bottom joint. A far superior model to the modern E-13 which retails for over $1800. This Evette Schaeffer is in excellent condition considering its age. The wood is tight grained and well oiled. The keys are nickel plated ... morewith some heavy wear on the key touches. The rest of the plating is about 60% intact. Mechanically in excellent condition. Up for auction is a VINTAGE BUFFET CRAMPON CLARINET IN CASE SERIAL#29965. In looking at the serial number directory. I believe this clarinet was made between 1946 and 1957; probably the mid to late 40s as serial numbers ended at 28000 in 1945. I do not play the clarinet and really don't know too much about them but this one looks to be in good condition for it's age; I see no cracks. It will need new cork, cleaning, and most likely new pads. In the case there is some cork material, a cleaning rag, and some cork grease. There is also an Elson's Pocket Music Dictionary which was stuck behind the fold down in the case. The case is in good condition as well other than some stitching coming loose on one side. These are professional horns with a full dark tone that fills any hall! This was bought at an auction from a bible college that sadly closed down. This horn plays great but depending on your taste and skill level could use an overhaul. These horns are very sought after and are worth every penny! Matching serial numbers 119181 indicating a 1971(Golden Age) manufacture. Clarinet is beautifully restored and the R13 speaks for itself. Wood is excellent with no cracks. The additional barrel has no marking and has a repaired crack. But the Buffet pieces are absolutely great. Silver plating is redone and is excellent throughout. Clarinet was perfectly repadded. It is far superior to grenadilla because it is natural wood. This mouthpiece was originally manufactured from a Chedeville blank and exhibits the traditional“1 up/ 3 down” line configuration associated with those blanks. It now features my personal medium long facing and has had the baffle and sidewalls slightly reshaped to offer a more immediate response with greater tonal focus and superior intonation. The 1.06 mm tip and medium facing(18 mm) is a medium design that allows the player excellent control but remains very free blowing. This mouthpiece works extremely well with medium heavy to heavy reeds(3.5– 4+) strength reeds or most players. Up for auction is a Vintage Evette Schaeffer Buffet Crampon Alto Saxophone. Serial number 7231. This saxophone date to production in 1960. This saxophone is being sold in AS-IS condition. The sax is playable, but as I do not play I do not know if the quality of the sound. I'm sure with age it could benefit from some adjustment by a professional. All the keys work and the neck is straight. To my knowledge the sax has never undergone any repair. The laquer is worn and appears tarnished in many spots and has many scratches. This auction is for a vintage wood Eb soprano(sopranino) clarinet. The bell. Which may or may not be original as it seems to have a slightly lighter color to the wood than the rest of the body. Is marked Henry Frenier. Paris. This is obviously a stencil of some French maker. But I'm not p ositive which one. It does have the wrap around register key as I've seen on old Buffets. But others probably did that as well. If anyone with more knowledge than me on this subject know s who the maker is I'd love to hear from you! Anyway. I don't see a serial number on it, but I believe it is around 100 years old(give or take a bit) based on the case and what I was told by the person I bought ... moreit from. I got it from the Grandson of the original owner w ho said his Grandfather played it in col lege roughly 100 years ago. This instrument is marked LP for low pitch. The desired tuning for modern use. It is in very nice condition. It was recently fully re-padded by Ward Brot music in Madison, WI and has not b een played since. I gues s the prior owner got talked into it when he brough t i t in for an ap praisial despite the fact that he had no intention of playing it. Anyway. The pads are in perfect shape it plays from top to bottom. I did notice that it was a little stuffy on a few of the lower notes. So it might need a little adjusting. Then again, it might have just been my poor skills on the clarinet coupled with playing on a bad reed(the only one I could scroung e up for Eb sop. The body is in great shape with no cracks or evidence of past repairs. The barr el looks like it may have had one or two interior cracks(that did not go all the way through the bore) glued as a pree mp tive measure. I'm not certain on this as I don't see any sign of a crack. But I do see what appears to be some glue residue on the interior o f the barrel. A t a ny rate. It seems

Large Vintage Dresser/Buffet in Unique Blue/Green Chalk Paint
Here is a gorgeous vintage dresser that is large enough to use as a buffet. Media console, or credenza. This color combination is so fresh and vibrant! There are a total of six drawers with three of them behind the center cabinet doors. The drawers all work perfectly well. And were painted inside in orange for a lovely contrast. The outside was painted in Annie Sloan Chalk paint Antibes and Napoleonic Blue, then waxed with clear and dark wax and ever so slightly distressed on the edges. This piece is super sturdy and well made. Measurements: 74" wide; 19" deep; 32" high. This is a vintage dresser. So expect some wear and tear appropriate to the age.
