Circa 1920 Stunning mahogany wood Ball and claw feet Includes one key Minor dings and marks to top, From a wonderful selection of mahogany wood comes this English antique Victorian style ball and claw sideboard that would make a sturdy and immaculate addition to any dining room. Not only does it provide more than ample storage. It also has a unique and eye-catching look that will have your guests asking where you found such an exquisite piece. This sideboard was made sometime around the year 1920 in England. The mahogany wood has a lovely. Deep patina that will continue to grow deeper and more beautiful as it ages. For storage there are three large drawers and two cabinet sections. All drawers open and close easily and were constructed with hand cut dovetailed drawer joints. There are two tear drop brass handles on each drawer. This center section bows out lending the piece a elegant shape. The doors were constructed with lovely flame mahogany ovals and the drawer fronts display the flame mahogany nicely as well. The left and right cabinets come equipped with a sturdy shelf for dishware. Both doors lock securely and one key is included. The rope twist carved molding adds an extra dimension of character to this extravagant piece, and all sits atop marvelous ball and claw feet. Being such a heavy and sturdy sideboard this piece has withstood the test of time very well. There are a few minor cosmetic issues to mention. Also. In the right cabinet there would have been a lead line drawer for wine bottles that is now missing. It was probably removed on purpose to allow for more storage space in that cabinet. Please note the legs' feet would need a bit of touch-up. I believe the wood is oak but not 100% sure. Please use your judgment when evaluating wood's kind. Note that the legs would need a bit of touch up at the bottom. Measurements are all approximate within the inch: The top measures 89" long x 20" wide. At the bottom is about 22" wide x 91" long. I would guess that it is not a real old antique but maybe made in the last 50 years or so. Tons of brass/bronze ormolu mounts with exceptional veneers. The set consists of- One piece table top with two bases that measures 114" long x 44" wide and stands 32" tall 6 upholstered chairs. Upholstery will need changing since one seat is heavily stained with wine. Note, there are no arm chairs. One ... moresideboard/server with marble top that measures 69" wide x 20" deep and 44" tall. Comes with lockable front doors with key. One china cabinet that measures 89" wide x 20" deep and is 89" tall. This has rounded glass dome doors. Lockable top and bottom with key. You could also remove the glass top and use this as a sideboard without the top. Please note that the top is scratched up from the glass china top being placed and slid into place. Once it is all together, most of the scratches are covered and not visible. If you would want to use this as a sideboard instead of a china cabinet, you would want to refinish the top. The overall condition is very nice and the set shows like it should be in a castle! There are minor dings and minor scratches here and there but nothing too noticeable. Antique Victorian Mirrored Inlaid Server Marble Top Sideboard English c. 1800's
Stunning Victorian mirrored sideboard or server. This ornate piece features carved decorations cresting each of its three sections. The center section has a large arched mirror with beveled edges. To each side of it are smaller oval beveled mirrors surrounded by filigree inlay and framed by turned columns. Each side section also features a small shelf over a larger serving area with molded edges. While the center section is slightly recessed and has been covered with beautiful rose-colored marble. Below the serving surfaces are two dovetail-jointed drawers with decorative brass bail handle pulls incised with geometric designs that resemble ankhs. The bottom half of this piece features three spacious cabinets, each framed by turned columns and with a mirrored and inlaid door that is opened with a key. This piece most likely dates from the ... moremid 1800's and is English in style and probably originated there. This piece is in fair to good antique condition with some minor breakage including and small break to the center crest. Breaks to the arched frames around two of the lower mirrors, a sizable chip to the veneer on the center door and a crack through the mirror surround on the upper right side, but no structural damage. Vintage Antique Cherry Wood Buffet Server / Sideboard circa 1920's
This unique solid wood sideboard/ buffet was made in Brooklyn. New York in the mid to late 1920’s and owned by my Grandmother, who passed it on to me. The piece has an unusual design and is in great condition considering its use and age. The sideboard measures 40" wide by 39" tall by 20" deep and it has one long drawer. Gorgeous Victorian era marble top server or sideboard. This beautiful piece has been capped with a gray and white marble top with rounded corners. The server show signs of high-quality construction including a paneled back and sides and sturdy dovetail joint drawers. The two drawers have fluted edges surrounding burl walnut inlay. Pressed brass pulls with a sun-like like design and silver-friendly linings. The lower cabinet has two doors, each with a burl walnut panel framed in a molded edge. The ring shaped pulls and brass escutcheons are made from brass. This piece most likely dates from the late 19th century. No maker's marks. Offered for sale is a Stunning Ethan Allen 18th Century Mahogany Collection Hepplewhite Sideboard. This sideboard is made of beautiful solid mahogany with selected mahogany and satinwood veneers for aesthetic enhancement. The sideboard features a satinwood banded top and front with two doors. Two drawers, a serpentine curved front and spade feet. The drawers feature a locking top drawer with a felt-lined silverware insert and the second drawer has a removable divider and felt(removable) bottom. The sideboard is item# 22-6406 in the#250 finish and was manufactured in December 1990. It can be found on page#197 of the 90th edition Ethan Allen Treasury of American Home Interiors catalog. Ethan Allen describes their"18th Century Mahogany" collection as: Capturing the grandeur of the 18th Century masters. Each piece in this gleaming mahogany ... morecollection has depth and richness. It's a look of timeless elegance enhanced by superb detailing: contrasting borders, beveled glass and hand-carved touches. This mahogany sideboard measures 56" wide x 19" deep x 38" high. Overall the piece is in excellent condition with the following exceptions: There is a scratch on the front leg(see pic# 10) and there is a small area of light residue(tape/wax build up? on the front of the drawer(see pic#11) which may come off easily but I didn't try. Also. There appears to have been some sun exposure to the front that lightened the finish in areas and the serpentine front apron and drawers have very, very faint ridges. It is made of Chestnut and/or Oak and in its original finish which has a redish tone to it. The original finish is in fair to good condition but does show signs of age and use. There are some small spots of splattered paint from over the years. It has the original brass Victorian embossed hardware doorknobs. And the original faucet. When opened, you can see the original zinc lining that just needs to be cleaned and buffed. The top cover lifts up and you put the ice in, and there is a water faucet hidden behind a narrow center door of the icebox. It must have been a marvel in the 1870s or‘80s when it was built. The rest of the finish is waxed and buffed, only an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth is needed to maintain its warm patina. Mars, stains and shrinkage separations from age make for lots of antique character. There have been various restorations over the years. Especially to the base. The top of the cornice has a warped corner and a wood separation but they're not distracting all. On its back it offers a large beveled mirror that has some age appropriate flaws but they only validate its antiquity. The top surface as a beveled edge and a very nice surface and though it has minor scratches it is in good condition. The bases of the columns are slightly uneven but they’re not distracting at all. This buffet features four smooth operating drawers that are well constructed with dovetail joinery and three of them have traditional facings with very unique brass handles and fancy hardware.
