This fine 19th century piece offers early hand-cut dovetailed ends on the drawers. Powerful S scroll front shelf supports, ring turned back supports, a large crotch mahogany stretcher shelf and C scroll front feet. Its features beautiful classic lines of the Empire period. This grand 19th century piece measures 39 1/2 inches in height.48 inches wide and 25 inches deep and weighs approximately 130 lbs. This server features a flip top serving surface with black melamine plastic and one adjustable shelf behind the doors. The single drawer has a pacific cloth drawer lining for silver protection. It is finished on all sides and has casters for easy mobility. The server is item#11-6237 and can be found on page#361 in the 80th edition of the Ethan Allen Treasury of American Traditional Interiors. Ethan Allen describes their Georgian Court line as having. Overall the server is in excellent condition with a few dings and a couple of scratches on the top surface(see pics#9. 10) and a couple of dings low on the bracket feet. The Ethan Allen name is stamped in the top drawer and the date as well as the item number are stamped on the bottom of the drawer. Ethan Allen manufactures high quality investment grade furniture that can be passed down through generations. The top of this hutch is curved and has a beveled edge and pressed wood design on the inside top edge. The front corners have been cut on angel and tiger striped veneer applied for added detail. There are 2 bevel cut leaded glass doors on top. The glass is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or breaks. This is a magnificent piece of furniture. There is a strip of burled wood down the center of the upper and lower pieces and the front of the lower doors have burled wood on them as well as a nicely designed inlaid tiger wood strip. This piece has great patina. The veneer has bubbled and chipped in a couple of spots but its hardly noticeable. The over all condition of this piece is excellent for its age. It is a very old antique and will not be perfect. I do not know the exact date it was made or who the maker is. The base measures 39 inches tall, 53 inches side to side and 23 inches front to back. It weighs 75 pounds. The top measures 34 ½ inches tall, 49 1/8 inches side to side and 17 1/8 inches front to back. It weighs 97 pounds. This wonderful Server has a medium/dark red/brown Mahogany stain finish color. The top of this Buffet/Server was re-finished, and the rest was touched-up, see pictures. This charming Server has doors on the sides, and it has dove-tailed drawers that are made out of solid wood on the inside, see pictures, and they are working properly.
