Circa 1920 Stunning mahogany wood Ball and claw feet Includes one key Minor dings and marks to top, From a wonderful selection of mahogany wood comes this English antique Victorian style ball and claw sideboard that would make a sturdy and immaculate addition to any dining room. Not only does it provide more than ample storage. It also has a unique and eye-catching look that will have your guests asking where you found such an exquisite piece. This sideboard was made sometime around the year 1920 in England. The mahogany wood has a lovely. Deep patina that will continue to grow deeper and more beautiful as it ages. For storage there are three large drawers and two cabinet sections. All drawers open and close easily and were constructed with hand cut dovetailed drawer joints. There are two tear drop brass handles on each drawer. This center section bows out lending the piece a elegant shape. The doors were constructed with lovely flame mahogany ovals and the drawer fronts display the flame mahogany nicely as well. The left and right cabinets come equipped with a sturdy shelf for dishware. Both doors lock securely and one key is included. The rope twist carved molding adds an extra dimension of character to this extravagant piece, and all sits atop marvelous ball and claw feet. Being such a heavy and sturdy sideboard this piece has withstood the test of time very well. There are a few minor cosmetic issues to mention. Also. In the right cabinet there would have been a lead line drawer for wine bottles that is now missing. It was probably removed on purpose to allow for more storage space in that cabinet. Great midcentury modern style on this server or credenza. I believe this wood is walnut. The door panels are covered with beautifully grained walnut in mint condition on one side and somewhat worn cane on the other. The panels can be removed so that you can recover them with whatever you want- cane. Fabric, cork, original artwork, etc. I showed this in the last few pictures. Top surface is laminated and one area is faded from some kind of rectangular object. As I showed in one photo. There is an unobtrusive scratch on two drawer fronts which is shallow enough to sand out if you wanted to refinish them. Otherwise this is in excellent condition. This is really solid, well-made, heavy furniture. This would be great for a large tv. It also looks really classy in an office-you can hide the printer. Beautiful and well preserved sideboard buffet server. Red/Brown Marble with no cracks or chips. There are ink stains in the upper drawers. But this is part of its history and character. Skeleton key lock in perfect working order. The detail if the spindles and the upper hand carved piece are exquisite. The marble is approximately 1/4 inch thick and is recessed into the top. It is flush with the top. This piece is solid wood and doesn't appear to have been refinished or altered from it original state. The exact date of this piece is unknown. Dumb waiters' were used in the 18th century as an adjunct to the dining table- being placed near the table so diners could reach for extra dishes without the requirement of a servant. Each of the two end dishes measure 10 by 5.5 by 2.5 inches deep. The center dish measures 11 by 10 by 1.5 inches deep. The serving dish rests on 6 The bottom of the dish is marked with the Wilcox/ International makers mark as shown. There is a ding and plate loss to one of the corners which can be seen in the last picture. This is a fantastic serving piece. Haven't seen one like this before. Vintage Henkel Harris Solid Mahogany Serpentine Sideboard Buffet Server Virginia Galleries- Winchester. VA Style No. 2367 Circa 1978 This sideboard is of the finest quality. Crafted by a firm renowned for its attention to detail and careful craftsmanship, and it is being offered at a fraction of retail cost. Designed in every detail after the Federal Period. This Hepplewhite sideboard has flaming mahogany veneers across the facade of the drawers and doors, absolutely glowing when caught in the right light. Each of these, framed in satinwood inlay, and the doors and drawers are finished in cockbead molding, beneath which the drawers are dovetailed and have the original keys. The brasses on each drawer are replicas of original American brasses. Noting the 13 stars which would normally date the design to 1790-91. The top drawer opens to reveal ... morean area for fine silverware, with soft cloth for protecting the silver from tarnish printed with the Henkel Harris insignia. The inside of the drawer is branded with the Henkel Harris insignia. Along the apron of the sideboard is a checkered inlay, below which a bellflower stringer inlay crests the tapered legs.
