This awesome Antique American Sideboard has been in the family for so many years. Not a reproduction. The detail on this sideboard is amazing! The two upper drawers are bow shape& the larger drawer is serpentine with lion heads on the pulls. Original brass keyholes. The doors have serpentines on them& appears one door(right side) had a repair before we purchased. Each side of the sideboard has a mermaid with detail. It's in very good condition for its age. But does have some staining on the top side. The original wheels are on the bottom of the piece. This fabulous English oak solid wood sideboard is 2 sections- top and bottom. The bottom has 4 drawers and 3 cupboards- the 2 center drawers are bowed. The cupboard side doors are single and center cupboard is a double door. It features a bowed carved front between the drawers and the center compartment- center cupboard is open up into that bowed area. Original brass"butterfly" hardware with a stylized design- one broken handle on bottom center door. The top section features 3 beveled mirrors and 4 shelves supported by carved columns. There is a sunflower motif on the pediment top center along with multiple carved flowers and leaf designs all over the front. Scrolls along the very top and sides. for auction is a monumental antique finest quartersawn oak sideboard i have ever seen or owned. Save one. i own one a tiny bit better maybe and it is unlikely that it is ever for sale in my lifetime. i am also an antique so one never knows when they may cross the bar. at any rate, the previous owner has toyed with selling this piece for the last 5 years or so and i told my picker if he ever sold it i would buy it. the fella that picks for me is paranoid and will never disclose names or locations, like he is afraid i will cut him out someway. anyway, i don't drive anymore out of the county so he should know i won't be going anywhere. anyway, everything is a big secret with martin. i have no history on the piece but there are a few things i can tell you. it is as good or better than any horner piece i own, and i have several, or have ... moreever owned, and that has been hundreds. the piece was made by berkey and gay and is signed in the top drawer. it is made of the finest quartersawn oak that could be had in the day. the top shelf which is not pictured so you can ascertain the flake is absolutely wonderful. the carving is masterfully done, no detail is left undone. the lion heads at the top are huge and life like and curl down to support the second shelf and come to rest on a very large paw that rests on the top of the sideboard. the doors are carved to death with one large lion head in the center and two smaller ones below the large center head located at 4 and 8 p.m. it is so busy you have to look to actually make them out but they are there and extremely well done. it has large lion heads on either side of the base that are above one of the largest and finest claw feet i have ever seen on a piece of furniture. it has a large cupid head in the center of the top of the thick molded support for the top. i think i measured the cupid at 7 inches wide. it has two large beveled mirror which appear to be original enclosed with very fine carved moldings. i could go on and on, but it is carved, molded, and fluted everyw

Vintage Sideboard Buffet Carved Fruit Tiger Stripe Oak Marble Cabinet Large
Very large antique buffet/sideboard with carved fruit. The dimensions are about 88" high x 61" wide x 22" deep. There are three drawers and three doors with locks and key, all work fine. I believe the wood is oak, and there is some tiger striping as can be seen in the pictures. It's in good shape for it's age, there is some chipping of the veneer at the bottom and the marble is chipped on each end and there is a crack toward the center(you can see this in the pictures) Local pickup only.

Built between 1850 and 1880. This extraordinary piece of furniture was created by a master craftsman and expert wood carvers. Beautiful American Antique New York 1800s R J Horner Carved Oak Sideboard Base
Here is an absolutely fabulous 19th century RJ HORNER New York USA made sideboard buffet base. You can see three small holes on top at the back where a mirrored top was probably attached. I bought this as a base only and had it refinished over 30 years ago-it was a dark mess and the wood grain wasn't visible otherwise I would have left it original. I wanted to see the glorious oak grain and everyone that has seen it over the decades has mentioned what an awesome piece it is. The carving is magnificent-hairy feet. Faces, shells, florals-fantastic quality. The drawers in the center are still there and usable, though could probably use some TLC to get them back to their best-there is a small chip in a corner and chain that holds it open needs some work. There are a couple of minor scuffs-one on top and one on lower side-captured in photos, ... moreand a couple of scratches on the top-tried to photograph. The bottom drawer sticks out-since last move 25 years ago. The nose of a center face has been flattened somewhat-again-with last move. One handle on left drawer is not rounded-may have had a piece off-has been that way since I bought it over 30 years ago. There is some minor denting around key locks-no key available. There may be another flaw,but I don't see them-but again this beauty is way over 100 years old. The back is fully intact-solid. Weighs a ton-built to last forever. This impressive sideboard of large proportions has a large mirror upstand with ornate carved showframe over a base of inverted breakfront form with frieze drawers supported by twin pedestals with ornately carved fielded panel doors united by undertier and raised on plinth base. It measures 6'11" 83" wide by 3' tall at top board(3'7" tall at backsplash) by 23" deep. Excellent condition: oak without chips or cracks, original brown finish with gilt accents on the carvings. English sideboard in tiger oak. Jacobean style. Circa 1920. Measurements: 54" long x 18 1/2" deep. Panelled back is 7 1/2" high. Total height is 44" There are 4 metal pear drop pulls on the 2 panelled dovetailed drawers- not original. The cupboards. However, have the original pulls with lock system. No key. Lots of decoration. The legs are barley twist and the barley twist continues on both sides of the upper portion of the cupboards. The top panel is pegged into the sideboard and could be removed. If desired, for traveling and then glued solidly in when this piece is in its final position. The feet are bulbous with a stretch system between. There is a minor separation along a seam on the right side of the cupboard. This mission sideboard is very sturdy and has been recently refinished. The top has been replaced with a solid piece of quarter sawed oak to match the rest of the piece. This American piece is constructed of solid Oak with gorgeous Burl Walnut decorative veneers. It has an English Jacobean look with a Spanish Revival or Moorish flair, and is sure to attract attention and garner compliments. Hardware is original, with vintage KBC(Keeler Brass Company) drawer pulls on the large drawer. And two lower compartment doors. Beautiful heavy carvings of grapes and other Arts and Crafts style motifs, lovely probably original metal Arts& Crafts hardware and keys for the lower cabinet. This wonderful solid oak sideboard has bun feet and a lovely carved bonnet on top and is overall just a striking piece in a tall but workable size. This sideboard stands 73 1/2 inches tall by 48 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches front to back overall, but travels in two pieces- the base 40 inches tall by 48 inches wide by 18 1/2 inches front to back; and the top section- 33 1/2 inches tall by 45 inches wide by 9 3/4 inches front to back. It has been partially finished C& R"Marble" chalky emulsion, the dresser is made of solid oak throughout and is a lovely example which has been made to last, we have modernised the piece to give it a lovely shabby chic feel, It has a lovely shaped back which has eleborate floral carved detail above a rectangular overhanging top. These have been hand stripped and have a golden oak hand waxed finish which contrast well with the painted finish, beneath are 2 large drawers and a pair of cupboards, the doors have elaborate floral carved detail, both the doors and drawers have wooden strip handles(replacements) the interior has 2 wooden shelves which create 4 divisions in total. The dresser is sound sturdy and 100% free from woodworm. It does have the odd slight mark or ding here and there but this is in keeping with a Vintage item, the finish to the paintwork is good. if you view the close ups you will see a small chip to the woodwork at the front L H corner, this blends well with the shabby chic/slightly distressed llok of the piece PLEASE VIEW THE MANY PICTURES WHICH GIVE A GOOD ALROUND VIEW OF THE PIECE.
