I have had this in my home for over 20 years and have always ... moreloved the great form and tall counter height(43" including the 1-3/4" removable wooden casters on the feet) which is seldom found. I don't know the manufacturer and can find no label on it but judging from the quality of the cabinet and the hardware it could be Stickley. Limbert, or another comparable maker from the very early 1900's. All solid quarter sawn tiger oak throughout. No breaks or repairs. Nice original finish with only normal light surface wear. There is one pull missing on the bottom drawer. Measurements are 58" long. 57-1/4" tall to the top of the mirror, 43" height to the counter top, and 22-1/2" deep. These measurements include the 1-3/4" height of the removable wooden foot casters. If you like the Arts& Crafts era furniture here's one with exceptional style and condition that is ready to set into your home. You are welcome to pick this up at my home in Massillon. One very nice vintage industrial sewing table or bench or bakers table with two very large bins solid oak was being used as a sewing and pattern table at time when purchased by me. I think it would make a ausome kitchen island or table with two cool large bins for storage.or as a sewing table.the pics where taken in my garage the day i picked it up. it was being used in a school and they recieved it from a vintage coat factory when they went out of buissness in the 80's. This is a genuine Gillows of Lancaster oak server buffet. It has the Gillows Lancaster stamp on the left side base support. This stamp was used approx 1820-1840. Gillows furniture is considered to be some of the finest furniture ever made. Robert Gillow was considered a fine furniture maker and as prestigious as Sheraton. Hepplewhite and Chippendale. This is a wonderful example of the firms work. The server measures 47 inches wide. It is 37 inches tall at the second shelf and 39 3/4 inches high at the back top decorative rail. The size of this server is 44" wide. 37 1/4" h and 37 1/4" front to back. The height is without the splash on the back that will add about 5" more on the back height. Tudor oak dining room table with extendable ends. 6 matching chairs(1 has arms) and a two-door server same style. Purchased new in the early 1930's. The table top was never used without a pad on it-like new! This set has been in dry storage in a smoke-free house for 30 years. The glued-on round facades on 3 sides on the bottom of one leg of one chair are missing. Some chair seats have a few stains, but the fabric is in very good condition. Table pads are included. Royal Oak was introduced in 1906 and made into the 1920s. The pattern is an Art Nouveau oak leaf pattern arranged in a Neo-Classical fashion. Royal Oak can be found with a variety of makers' marks, which apparently indicate the way in which it was sold when new. The aspic or jelly knife requires a bit of explanation. It is designed for serving a food that resembles a molded jello. This was an old way of preserving food by adding it to a jelly base. The cook made it into a jelly which was molded into an attractive shape. ... moreThe gelatin used was an unflavored one, like Knox's, and contained salt so that food would keep for several days in that shape. Thus there were jellied livers, tomatoes in aspic, and fruit molds that could be eaten over several days. This is not a food eaten in quantity, so the server is a long handled piece that resembles a pie server, except that it is very narrow. Today the aspic/jelly server is used for molded salads, jello, and things that no one really should eat a lot of like cheesecake. Think of this as the cheesecake server. The aspic/cheesecake server offered here measures about 8 3/4. This is not a piece of new silver. It shows the patina of as much as 105 years of careful use. There are the light scratches which constitute normal patina. There is no monogram. Silver is softly lustrous. There is no silver loss except for a heel dot. The pattern is crisp and clear. Antique English Solid Oak Victorian Huge Sideboard Server 1800s 8 feet 6" tall
This fabulous English oak solid wood sideboard is 2 sections- top and bottom. The bottom has 4 drawers and 3 cupboards- the 2 center drawers are bowed. The cupboard side doors are single and center cupboard is a double door. It features a bowed carved front between the drawers and the center compartment- center cupboard is open up into that bowed area. Original brass"butterfly" hardware with a stylized design- one broken handle on bottom center door. The top section features 3 beveled mirrors and 4 shelves supported by carved columns. There is a sunflower motif on the pediment top center along with multiple carved flowers and leaf designs all over the front. Scrolls along the very top and sides. There is 1 finial piece missing on the right rear post. Mirrors are original and in mint condition, the silvering is in very good shape. ... moreOriginal finish in mint condition. The back is unfinished. Hard to get a good photo, sorry. There are no signature or markings that I got it from Ohio. Probably mid to late 1800's.
