I recently moved from an much larger house and really do not have the room for this any more. This is HEAVILY carved and EXTREMELY detailed. The top section comes off for moving. But the bottom half will require at least 4-6 men to move it. This piece has 7 locking doors. 4 drawers and 9 beautifully carved unique outdoor scenes. There is one shelf running the length of the top and one behind the doors on the bottom. This is all hand-made. It truly must be seen to be fully appreciated. I am not sure of the age. But one professional assessment put it in the Elizabethan period. There are no obvious markings indicating origin or age. Overall the piece is in very very good condition. There are two areas of damage. On the very top there is a crack and some damage on the underside of the top concealed behind the right pillar. This is a very nice 1890s vintage small oak sideboard. The finish is so nice I'm guessing it might have been refinished sometime in the past 10 years. It's very pretty and very clean. It has a very unusual pull-out. Felt-covered, desk-style board! I've never seen this feature before on a piece like this. A very handsome, but not huge like so many other buffets. Today we have for offer a nice vintage Kincaid china cabinet. Breakfront. Curio, buffet china press. Many different names but one nice piece. This is from around the 1980's I believe. Unit is in nice condition. Was rarely used. The silverware holder is still in the plastic. There is a chip in edge of one shelf right near the corner. It does not detract from the cabinet. This buffet came in with a carved wood panel in the top center with two people that are hunting and a dog at the bottom chasing after their prey carved in deep relief on the door. There is a clam shell carving on top of the crown. Egg and dart molding, applied carving, carved serpents coming off both sides on the top where it steps down and underneath the cupboard there are little flowers and trim. Underneath the cupboard is a spindle shelf with a mirror back. The top cupboard is supported by two big bold fluted solid oak columns that rest upon the case cabinet. The case cabinet also has carving on all of the panels. It has four applied corner panels with tiger sawn oak and a highlight in the center of a molded raised panel. It has carved columns coming down both sides and egg and dart molding on the carved drawers. There are two bevel glass doors that go with the wonderful detail carved figure scene in the center. Antique buffet oak fits a lot of items absolutely gorgeous OLD
I bought this at a flea market around 20 years ago. I absolutely love it. It fits all of our table linens, candles, etc. We knocked out a wall in our dining room and no longer have the wall space for it. A few things I want to point out. The drawer pulls are definately not original. Also. It seems as if there once was a crack in the top and someone glued it together. We have moved many times over the 20 years and this has never shifted, etc. Buffet: 48"L x 20"W x 53 H. If you think you would want this shipped. Selling a beautiful antique French Provincial side board with wood/glass upper displays(you are buying the entire piece as shown) We recently purchased several large pieces from a local winery that is changing ownership and renovating their tasting room. All of the pieces were originally brought in at a great expense from France to showcase wine. While we love this piece. It is too large for our small shop and we are selling it. It is currently being used to display some of our antique porcelains. This is a very large and intricately carved sideboard/cabinet. It was made in two pieces- upper and lower half due to the large overall size. It is made of pine and white oak with beautiful carvings throughout. It dates to about 1880. The height of the piece is 90" at the tallest part and 84" at the shorter sides. The overall width is ... more84" The middle section is 23" deep and the sides are 18" deep. The holes next to the knobs on the bottom are where the locks have been removed but these will be put back in for the buyer. The top of the cabinet(glass uppers) have also been wired for lighting.
