There is a small piece of the grapevine carving missing at the tip end of the grape cluster on the crest, and a tiny piece of molding missing on the right side right above the marble(see next to last picture) and the left door does present with a slight age shrinkage separation in the center that is not very noticeable but there, all which I have tried to capture in the pictures, nothing major in my opinion but wanted to point them out. Beautiful art-deco classic! A fine Italian marquetry sideboard. From about 1935 I think, it features impressive flame-mahogany and burl-walnut veneers, classic angle-fronted drawers, beveled and etched-glass doors, a marble top, scalloped edges, and bronze and Bakelite hardware. The piece comes apart in two sections, with the back and upper cupboards lifting off the base section. Dimensions are approx. 76" H x 62" W x 21" D. The piece is original and authentic. And as such there is evidence of minor damage to the veneer, with a few small chips on the top and front of some drawers, and the left hand glass door. I have attempted to show this in the last 3 photos. The effect is hardly noticeable, and does nothing to detract from the rather elegant majesty of the piece. This auction is for a antque Buffet-sideboard measures 10'0" w x 39" h x 23" deep. The Buffet is an heirloom piece and been in my family for a long time. The piece is an 1940 French Antique. The buffet is made from solid hard wood with a wood veneer front, and has a beautiful chevron pattern on the veneer, v ery unique. There are five storage compartments in the piece. Two on each end and three in the middle of the piece, each compartment can be locked and comes with a vintage skeleton key. The buffet is finished on top with a scalloped piece of WHITE marble. Exquisite Antique Marble Top Buffet or Bar
The pictures do not do this piece justice. This is a beautiful buffet. The marble is 2" think. The color of it you do not see much any more. There are a couple small places where the veneer is cracking a little. The bottom piece is solid wood with veneer and brass. Gorgeous Victorian era marble top server or sideboard. This beautiful piece has been capped with a gray and white marble top with rounded corners. The server show signs of high-quality construction including a paneled back and sides and sturdy dovetail joint drawers. The two drawers have fluted edges surrounding burl walnut inlay. Pressed brass pulls with a sun-like like design and silver-friendly linings. The lower cabinet has two doors, each with a burl walnut panel framed in a molded edge. The ring shaped pulls and brass escutcheons are made from brass. This piece most likely dates from the late 19th century. No maker's marks. The server is in good antique condition with some small holes in the marble top. See pictured example. The locks have been removed. It has a broken handle. Blue and other marks on the bottom of one side down on the inside, top back panel has a small nail size gash, little off set on one of the doors that closes, however marble is in great shape as well as the rest of the buffet. It has wheels and if you put something of the bottom part like a some kind of covering you will be all good once the handle is fixed or replaced. This is a wonderful. Vintage Mid-Century 1960's Marble Top Hollywood Regency Style Credenza/Sideboard/Buffet. There is an original label on the back from the J.L. Metz Furniture Company, New York, and metal disks on the inside of one drawer from the NAFM(National Association of Furniture Makers. This credenza has three drawers across the entire width of the piece. Each one is separated into compartments for flatware and serving pieces. There are four doors at the base which open to reveal two separate compartments, the one on the right has a drawer at the top and the left side compartment has a shelf. This can be seen clearly in the photos provided. All original hardware. The credenza has a muted green painted, distressed finish, the word"PARCHMENT" is ink stamped on the back of the piece near the paper label from J.L. Metz. ... moreThe sporadic indented marks on the finish are intentional and inherent in the making to give the piece a more distressed patina. Credenza is in good condition with minor wear expected and commensurate with vintage pieces, there are small nicks, scratches and some wear to the legs, please view all photos carefully. Up for your consideration I am offering a beautiful piece that is hard to part with. I am downsizing and would keep it if I could. This sideboard is large measuring about 78" long(6.5 Ft) 41" tall(about 3.5 Ft) and 21" thick from front to back. It has cabinets on each end with roomy shelves inside. The center has a glass door that I display carnival glass in. There is another shelf for that display and have it and it will be included with the buffet. It has two long and wide drawers for storage and has pretty black and white solid marble that is about 2" thick. Each drawer and cabinet has silver toned and brass handles in the art deco style. The brass could use a good polishing. This piece is very versitile, I have used itin the kitchen as an island and in the living room as a TV stand.
