This is a lovely vintage 2 tier mahogany serving table complete with brass handle on top for easy moving. The four legs are capped with brass paw feet with a nice aged patina. Both tiers are in the shape of an octagon. The server is 27.5" to the top of the center column plus the handle. Top Tier measures 11.5" wide and is approx 23.5" from the floor. Bottom Tier measures 14" wide and is 14.5" from the floor. There is an old repair to one of the legs. It in no way has compromised the table. It is strong and sturdy. Not wobbly at all. Before pushing on much further we want to stop and point out a few things. These would be that we got this in a bit dry so we applied a mild citrus feeding wax to it. That is causing the pictures to appear a bit shiny. We have not completed its detailing yet. Your are looking at straight off the truck pictures. We are processing a very large load while trying to keep the listings caught up with. When we don't they end up getting pushed back from the showroom to the connected warehouse and we will find it a year later buried behind a wall of furniture. We loosely attribute it to the Allison Brothers workshop in New York City. Since our transplanting from Boston about a decade ago we encounter a lot of New York City period furniture. We are intrigued by the genius and creativity of these innovative thinks and artisans. The level of craftsmanship from the workshops of Duncan Phyfe. Sylvester, the Allisons, etc is exceptional. As here this piece is just wonderful and a well thought our piece to be utilized in living spaces with limited room. This pieces just lacks in nothing! It has wonderful original brass Sheraton period pull, an original finish with cleaned surface and in very good overall condition, It was professionally maintained and has a few very high quality veneer repairs to its bookmatched crotched mahogany panels. The grains' configuration on the base cabinet doors and side panels are just masterful. These are not pieces we encounter often and its an exciting very high quality cabinet. As it does have some cosmetic and finish flaws, mostly in multiple scuffs, scratches, nicks and marks along base board on front and sides as well as several scratches on sides of cabinet. There is also some finish loss on the very bottom edge of base that is well covered by color, but there upon inspection. It is typical to the arts and crafts era being beautifully shaped and very large. It is a quality item being made from mahogany and would look well in any property amongst other arts and crafts furniture. We do apologise for the pictures it is was very difficult to get the flash to work properly. The sideboard is alot lighter than photographs demonstrate. The sideboard stands on square plank ends that support the main section that has two large doors eitherside of two smaller central doors and two small drawers over one larger drawer. Behind the doors there are shelves ... morewith no marks and scratches. The doors are beautifully panelled and have their original handles that are stunning. The top is in very good condition with a few marks and scratches but nothing out of the ordinary for an item fo this age. There is a galleried section around the side that is typically shaped to the era with a lovely panelled back section. The height is 147cm. The width is 191cm and the depth is 54cm. This stunning sideboard/dresser/buffet travelled from England to America with my parents when they moved here in the 1970's. And took pride of place in their home for the remainder of their lives. It is now time to liquidate their assets, and pass on the pleasure of ownership of such a beautiful and versatile piece to someone who appreciates the beauty, history and craftsmanship of high quality furniture. It is made of mahogany, with beautifully carved embellishments and a gorgeous, flawless large focal mirror. The bottom section has six dove-tailed drawers, and the top section consists of a large focal mirror flanked on each side by two small shelves. Above the main mirror is another shelf, ab ove which is a smaller mirror. Both mirrors have bevelled edges. Condition: Sideboard has a french polish finish except for top which was refinished due to previous damage. Drawer knobs are replacements. Some flame mahogany veneer loss(I have some of the pieces) hard to notice as piece is mahogany as well underneath the veneer. Large. description We are selling an amazing Queen Anne style 1920's mahogany server. Sideboard, credenza, or buffet. The style is traditional. It has a wonderful front shape. A simple thick beveled edged top flows down and enhances the gorgeous grain and patina of this piece. The beautiful mahogany grain really highlights and showcases the entire flow and feel of this piece. Original hardware is evident throughout this piece. Two doors open to reveal a hidden drawer ample storage and show the quality and craftsmanship of this piece and add spice to this already functional piece.
