We are pleased to offer this beautiful antique cabinet. This is a gorgeous cabinet/sideboard or accent entry table that dates to the 1920s. The cabinet is solid wood(Maple or Pine) with beautiful grain pattern. The cabinet has both Art Deco and Jacobean details. The cabinet has a double door front. The doors have arched and recessed panels. Inside the recessed areas. Each door has a raised, English Tudor style shield. The shields feature a yellow stain which provides contrast to the medium stain of the surrounding wood. There is a decorative, scalloped apron with incised accents as well. The cabinet has beautiful, turned wood front legs and sleek, straight back legs. There are stretcher supports between the front and back legs as well as a center support. The cabinet has generous storage inside. There are no shelves, just open storage space. ... moreThe bottom storage area is a thinner piece of wood than the balance of the cabinet. The cabinet is in very good condition. The finish is very good. There are a few light surface scuffs and scratches, but nothing severe or distracting. The cabinet is very sturdy with no wobbling. There are two very small drilled holes; one in the very back and one on the bottom of the inner cabinet. I think someone may have used this as a media cabinet at some point and the holes were drilled for power cords. Gorgeous Large French Provincial Enfilade Sideboard Blonde English Oak c1780
18th C French Provincial Enfilade c 1780 This is a stunning French enfilade made from English oak. The entire piece has 18th century craftsmanship with dovetailed joints and peg nails. A few interior areas have been re-inforced with screws. There are four cabinet doors and four deep drawers. The cabinet door on the far right has compartments that have been customized to hold flatware and serving pieces. The far two left doors have anterior section that is not divided so it can hold larger pieces. The hardware and key are original to the piece. The enfilade measures 21 1/4" deep x 38" high x 8 1/4 feet long(99 inches) The cabinet offers a tremendous amount of storage and I have used it in my home office for a very long time. I never intended to part with it but unfortunately I need more storage and I'm having built-in bookshelves ... moreinstalled. When I purchased the piece I was told that this was brought to the United States by a very wealthy family along the Main Line in Philadelphia. The wife fell in love with the piece while dining in a restaurant in the Normandy area. It was brought back to the United States by a container ship. The surface of the enfilade is stained with red wine and marked by hot dishes that it once held which to me. Creates the personality of this magnificent piece. I didn't want something that was perfect that I'd have to protect and be afraid of ruining. ANTIQUE ENGLISH HUTCH CABINET CUPBOARD This antique sideboard/hutch/cupboard was one of my mom's prized possessions. The cupboard was hand-crafted ca.1840 so the pine now has an amazing patina. The hutch is in two pieces. The top has 2 shelves and the bottom has 3 drawers and 3 cupboard doors. The bottom cupboard is open without dividers so long pieces can be stored. The assembled piece is 82" x 58" x 20" One Christmas. A candle burned the edge of the bottom shelf(last pic) but I do not feel it detracts. It looks like a knothole. In 1985. When my mom purchased the cabinet in Denver CO, it was appraised at $2,750.00. I will put the slip in the drawer where I found it. I am asking $1950, which is 30% below that appraisal. RARE Antique English Wedgwood Jasperware SIDEBOARD
This is an antique English Japaned black sideboard featuring a large Wedgwood jasperware plaque. I think that the wood is walnut. This features a center cupboard with a display case on either side. This has a great yet somewhat ambiguous style which borrows influence from the aesthetic movement. Neoclassical design, and even some degree of Eastlake influence. It measures 42 1/2" tall, 15" deep, 68" long with the plaque measuring 7" tall and 5" wide. For the most part it's in pretty good condition. It does have a few cracks in the wood, most notably on the side near the foot and on the top near the side edge. It is missing about 25-35% of the beading trim is missing. There is some on the inside of the cabinet. It may be easier to have it recast instead of finding new, but definitely worth restoring this and every ... moreother aspect of this cabinet. I'm told that the blue velvet lining is the original, but I can't verify it. Someone has mounted lights over the cases on the inside, they really aren't a very good edition. Other than that I think some small modifications have been made to this piece; the tempered glass shelves seem to be new and somone put a thin rubber stop on the inside of the doors to protect it, the key(s) are missing. There is a y-shaped very fine hairline crack of the plaque. It's so fine that it really is too hard to get a picture of it. We tried to show condition with taking so many pictures. This fine English George III Mahogany Dressing Table retains a level of originality that is difficult to maintain with such a complex and practical piece. Retaining a mellowed and regularly waxed early surface, the whole highly patinated, the case makes a fine presentation. The top lifts over original hinges to reveal a large partitioned interior with various compartments, both opened and lidded, an inkwell, a pincushion and a pair of original forged tin buckets. The center boasts an original mirror in a mahogany and satinwood veneered frame over an oak frame with dovetailed corners- the dovetails of the corners are so tiny ... moreand precise, clearly formed by a highly skilled craftsman, matching the quality of the dovetails framing the oak frame of the top flaps. A pair of graduated drawers on either side flank a broad single drawer beneath three faux drawers. Each with cockbead molding framing satinwood stringer inlay around the mahogany veneer and central round stamped brass pulls. The concave shape of the skirt allows a chair to be easily pulled up to the table while retaining the austerity of an almost squared profile. The right and left sides of the case are embellished with a circular satinwood inlaid ring, lending harmony to the round profile of the brass pulls. The top of the case is incredibly attractive, the right and left sides book-matched plum pudding mahogany veneers of a deep and warm tone, well patinated and framed in the same stringer satinwood inlay- note the loss at the back left corner of stringer inlay. Antique Victorian Mirrored Inlaid Server Marble Top Sideboard English c. 1800's
Stunning Victorian mirrored sideboard or server. This ornate piece features carved decorations cresting each of its three sections. The center section has a large arched mirror with beveled edges. To each side of it are smaller oval beveled mirrors surrounded by filigree inlay and framed by turned columns. Each side section also features a small shelf over a larger serving area with molded edges. While the center section is slightly recessed and has been covered with beautiful rose-colored marble. Below the serving surfaces are two dovetail-jointed drawers with decorative brass bail handle pulls incised with geometric designs that resemble ankhs. The bottom half of this piece features three spacious cabinets, each framed by turned columns and with a mirrored and inlaid door that is opened with a key. This piece most likely dates from the ... moremid 1800's and is English in style and probably originated there. This piece is in fair to good antique condition with some minor breakage including and small break to the center crest. Breaks to the arched frames around two of the lower mirrors, a sizable chip to the veneer on the center door and a crack through the mirror surround on the upper right side, but no structural damage. Arriving with my consignors most recent shipment of antiques from the UK, this gorgeous old sideboard has some nice age and I attempt to use my photographs to show it's quality construction and ample functional storage in a wonderful solid wood cabinet. This piece has two large side drawers and four central drawers, all beautifully dovetailed and two of which are actually divided felt lined drawers. On each side is functional open cabinet space behind decorative wood doors and the piece appears to have it's original old hardware as well. The four central drawers are each 16 1/4 inch wide by 12 1/2 inches front to back and are 3 1/2, 5, 6 and 7 inches deep, respectively with the top two drawers being the two felt lined divided buffet drawers. There are also two large drawers, one on each side, measuring 16 1/4 inch wide by 15 inches front to back and 3 1/2 inches deep. It is a gorgeous piece of antique furniture that can be used in a variety of places within the home. This console would be an excellent piece for any area that you need a narrow depth piece. Such as behind a sofa or in a hallway. A common motif among carved oak Victorian furniture is“the hunt” This console is true to that ... moremotif with carved fish and fowl on the doors complimented by carved flora up the sides and drawers. The drawer handles are actually hand carved leaves. A truly unique and beautiful look. Both drawers function smoothly and were created with hand cut dovetailed joints. This is a sign of proper construction and age. The doors have a keyhole and there is a lock on the right door. But no key exists. There is no catch on the left door either. Despite this, both doors still remain shut when they are closed. Inside is one wooden shelf. It is removable but not adjustable. There is some minor wear on this console as you would expect from a Victorian era antique. This consists mainly of minor wear marks around the bottom moulding and feet. The top has sustained some age separations which are purely cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. You will also see on the right side. Near the top, that the moulding is missing from the small rectangle section. We have called this out in the pictures.
