Full length door hinges and ornate metal drawer pulls accent the front opf the piece as well as a simple floral carving on the valanced skirt. Three drawers and a generously sized lower cabinet make this a practical storage piece as well. The sideboard most liekly dates from around the 1840's. Overall. This piece is in very good condition, especially considering its age. There are some noticeable scratches and wear to the top surface and a few areas with eveidence of worm damage. One of the feet also has some signs of a minor repair. No other breaks or damage beyond light wear consistent with use. This piece has been meticulously carved by hand, and no opportunity for adding elegance has been missed. Includes all original hardware and mirror. This sideboard separates into two pieces in case you only want to use the buffet portion on the bottom. The sides of the hutch include intricately carved finials and small"shelves" for displaying your favorite small items(I used antique perfume bottles) and small painted plates. This fabulous English oak solid wood sideboard is 2 sections- top and bottom. The bottom has 4 drawers and 3 cupboards- the 2 center drawers are bowed. The cupboard side doors are single and center cupboard is a double door. It features a bowed carved front between the drawers and the center compartment- center cupboard is open up into that bowed area. Original brass"butterfly" hardware with a stylized design- one broken handle on bottom center door. The top section features 3 beveled mirrors and 4 shelves supported by carved columns. There is a sunflower motif on the pediment top center along with multiple carved flowers and leaf designs all over the front. Scrolls along the very top and sides. We are pleased to offer to the market this stunning antique English cabinet. The maker of this piece is unknown to us. We believe it to be from the late 1800's. A beautiful. Unique and functional piece the attributes of this are numerous. This is made from rosewood and veneer. The gallery top boasts a beautiful marble slab in amazing condition. Above the gallery there is a cabinet with glass doors. The doors have a pretty bell flower with ribbon& bow motif painted on them. This matches the inlaid motif on the base doors. There is an oval shaped beveled mirror between the doors. This has a key for the upper doors and they do lock. Beneath the cabinet doors the backsplash has a larger beveled mirror. The mirror is flanked by shelves mounted on columns with brass accenting. The base section of this has a single drawer above two doors ... morethat open to reveal additional storage space. The drawer has dove tail seams. The drawer has a lock but we do not have the key and the key that locks the upper doors does not work on this lock. There is a faux lock mechanism on the bottom doors as well. With no lock mechanism inside. This is strictly decorative and not functional. English sideboard in tiger oak. Jacobean style. Circa 1920. Measurements: 54" long x 18 1/2" deep. Panelled back is 7 1/2" high. Total height is 44" There are 4 metal pear drop pulls on the 2 panelled dovetailed drawers- not original. The cupboards. However, have the original pulls with lock system. No key. Lots of decoration. The legs are barley twist and the barley twist continues on both sides of the upper portion of the cupboards. The top panel is pegged into the sideboard and could be removed. If desired, for traveling and then glued solidly in when this piece is in its final position. The feet are bulbous with a stretch system between. There is a minor separation along a seam on the right side of the cupboard. ESTATE SALE I and was asked by the relatives of the owners to sell this sideboard as their estate is being dispersed. So I chose E-Bay for a quick"short" sale. I am a licensed antiques dealer and appraiser with 24 years experience This sideboard is 100% authentic and guaranteed as described. This is an estate situation, so buyers, take advantage! Described as: A very elegant English George III mahogany bowfront sideboard with dazzling cross-banded satinwood top and three line inlays, circa 1800, with the rare inclusion of the original“lion’s head” pulls. It is shown is estate condition, but it still retains a mellow surface, and warm color and choice surface. Thee are no repairs or damage of note. This came from a Charleston, South Carolina estate. Cosmetically, this sideboard looks great"as is" and has only minor flaws ... morefrom being in storage. A good cabinetmaker could make this piece look fantastic for a minimal amount. Retail, this is easily an 8-10K sideboard. The finish is very stable as it had been French polished and well-cared for. The last photos were taken outside with a flash camera and make the sideboard look red, which it is definitely not when seen in person. Also, the lion's head brasses look white in the photos. They were originally gilded and have not been cleaned. The are quite heavy and well-cast. No major restorations, breaks, or repairs. The top once had a brass rod at the back of the top. Professionally, I think someone had added this about 100 years ago. There are two circular"ghost"marks that show this where it was attached. The proper left drawer once held a divided cellarette, the dividers of which were removed at some point. It is made of mahogany, with beautifully carved embellishments and a gorgeous, flawless large focal mirror. The bottom section has six dove-tailed drawers, and the top section consists of a large focal mirror flanked on each side by two small shelves. Above the main mirror is another shelf, ab ove which is a smaller mirror. Both mirrors have bevelled edges. English Georgian Oak Welsh Cupboard 20th Century. In Outstanding Condition Item# 130109UBG23 This is an absolutely gorgeous and very well preserved English Georgian Style Oak Welsh Cupboard. An entirely hand crafted benchmade work. The finish is golden and glowing, relatively free of any noteworthy flaws other than the most minor use indicators. The projecting crown molding is outlined with toothed dentil molding over three shelved levels channeled for plate presentation, the lower two flanked by cupboard doors over a single small drawer. The doors are raised panel, the frame tenoned and pinned in following original period construction. The lower base is raised over turned legs with a steepled apron hosting three large drawers- one is outfitted for silverware, the other two upholstered and open; these are hand dovetailed at the front, nailed ... moreat the back and along the bottom. The feet are stretched with a lower shelf. Great care and energy went into properly crafting this piece after the Georgian originals- all of the solid oak surfaces are hand planed. Resulting in the wonderful rippling of light across the sheen of the shellac'd surface. The hand forged nails that join the nailed surfaces together complete the piece with a great air of authenticity.
