I have used it as a sideboard/credenza/buffet/chest as well as for storage in an office, where it received constant compliments. It is wonderfully well-made in a very subtle art deco/craftsman/eclectic design that will actually work well with and complement many styles of furniture, including mid-century modern, arts& crafts, Eames era, and craftsman. One of the two side drawers is lined with green felt and partitioned to accommodate serving pieces or silverware. On each side, under the small top drawers, is a door behind which is open storage with two levels. In the center are three drawers, one shallower drawer at the top and two deeper drawers below. It is designed so that the center section with the drawers is gracefully indented between a slightly wider section on each end, with the drawers and open storage. The corners of the solid wood top are gracefully rounded, as are the points where the center section curves out to meet the wider sides. The hardware is beautifully simple, high quality, and well designed. It is in very good to excellent vintage/antique condition. With smoothly sliding drawers and very little in the way of surface cosmetic concerns. All the joints are solid and strong. Dimensions: Width is 62-1/2 inches. Refinished and color matched so you can see how gorgeous the beautiful walnut veneers are that have been chosen by the craftsman in the 1920s. On the front it has a diamond point inlaid banner across the top right underneath the bevel edge top, four carved column posts with spindles that adorn each post and goes down into an Acanthus carved front leg. It has four front legs and four back legs that are connected with cross stretchers to make it tight and sturdy. The sideboard is a stunning walnut amber color that brings out the grains and a gorgeous look to the entire piece. It has two picture frame molded panel doors that open to reveal plenty of storage. On the left hand door there is a pull out tray for silverware. The right hand side is wide open for anything you desire such as serving dishes or liqueur bottles. And good rich colour to teak. The sideboard has been maintained extremely well over the years with regular applications of Danish oil. We have professionally cleaned and sympathetically refinished the sideboard throughout. Re-oiling all surfaces to a superb finish. There are no significant marks, and only very slight signs of use. The top has no discernible marks to note. And the entire sideboard features a particularly attractive grain. Vodder style recessed pulls to the flight of four drawers. This buffet from Scan Design is simply gorgeous and very unique. It features accordion style doors that wrap around the back when opened so they do not interfere with anything else in the room. The piece is solid as a rock and the brushed metal feet make it easy to move. This was originally a $1500 piece at Scan Design and I've never seen another like it. Great Opportunity It is very hard to find credenzas and TV stand that fit in antique environments. This is the perfect piece. A low dresser in height that is hard to find and perfect for your big screen. Of course it would be a great dresser as well. It is so unique and different then most pieces. The doors and drawers work well are sturdy and slide nicely. The bottom drawer's bottom sags down some and rubs when opening it. This slows the drawer down some. But it still opens pretty easily. Left door is a little tight also, not bad. The entire piece is in great shape without really anything to point out to you. I know you will be happy with it. A real feature of this magnificent cabinet is the deep relief carving which is complimented by subtle brass stud work. A glorious patina and warm colour. Standing on modest feet three columns of foliate carving flank the castellated field panels on the doors framing the high relief ornamentation of the marine motif carving. A line of dual sized. Brass studs run horizontally between the cupboard and flared, oak lined drawers that are profusely carved and flanked by well figured lion mask capitols. Demonstrating superior craftsmanship.
