You will look long and hard for a sideboard that is as clean and virtually flawless as this one is. We just completed a thorough restoration and it's near perfect. A very substantial sideboard with all sorts of detail. For a sideboard that does not have Griffins or figures. This is as good as they come really. Antique Empire European Sideboard - Heavily Hand-Carved - Mid 1800's - L@@K!!!
Up for Auction: One(1) Antique 19th Century Empire European Side-Stand circa 1830's-1850's. A friend of mine asked me to list this for him and I am giving you the info he has been given on it. I am not a collector or a furniture professional. So I am hoping the collectors out there will know about this awesome find! I'm told that the knobs date back to 1826 and that this piece came over by ship from possibly Ireland? The carving on this one is fabulous to say the least. Can't even imagine the amount of time that was invested in this to create such an awesome look back in the day! Lion's paw/claw feet/legs are beautifully done. Piece shows obvious signs of aging. Wear and some chips scratches and surface cracks. I have tried to capture the condition the best I could. Two knobs are off the front but my friend has one of ... morethem. Two are still in tact and on side stand. No key for keyholes. Back of unit has pushed away in a few spots and he nor I have made any attempt to re attach. It is still attached but needs to be nailed back completely. In addition- we have made no attempt whatsoever to clean this beauty in fear that we might do more harm than good! I will leave that to the buyer or the professionals that get paid big bucks to restore such furniture- if in fact that is your desire? Due to the weight and age of this piece- I am suggesting local pick up only but will gladly discuss other options like local delivery for a fee of course or even shipping freight with insurance all to be paid buy the buyer! Antique Gothic Carved 9 pcs Dining Room Fold-out Table Sideboard China Cabinet
This Dining Room Set was giving to me from my Sister-in-law. It was her Great Grand parents, which would date it to the early 1900's. It is a stunning Gothic heavily carved 9 piece solid heavy wood matching dining room set. Table- 31" T x 38" W x 61" L(extends out to 88" Fold out ends. 6 chairs(only one is a captains' chair) Sideboard-37" T x 22" W x 70" L. 2 pull out drawers with sliding silver holder. 2 side open doors. China Cabinet-63" T x 18" W x 40" L. Double opening doors- with one shelf. 1 opening door on top- with one cut out shelf. The Buffet/Sideboard in wonderful condition with no serious damage. Several chairs have loose cushions. A few chips or breaks, and one foot rest cross bar has some dog chews on it. Table has some wear and a loose bottom beam. Some scuffs and wear, ... morebut the to fold out side work great and the table is really very very solid with no wiggle. China cabinet. One bottom door is off the hinges and needs to be rehung, but no other damage. This has been lovingly used. And does need some repairing, cleaning, and restoring, but with a little elbow grease this would just a stunning rare Gothic Dining Room Set. Buyer to Pick up. Or assumes all shipping cost. ANTIQUE TIGER OAK SIDEBOARD WITH CARVED GRIFFIN HEADS AND PAWS
This beautiful oak sideboard is a focal point in any room. It is in excellent condition for its age(approx late 1800s to early 1900s) with intricate carvings. Trim and a beveled mirror. The griffin heads blend into tails along the side of the mirror. The heads on the front legs blend into the paws. This is an original piece, not a reproduction. The tiger oak is stunning and the finish is beautiful. It was made in the USA in Easton, MD. It has good storage with 3 small drawers, 1 large drawer and 2 cabinets. The drawers slide easily. There are keyholes in the drawers, but no key. It measures 39 1/4" tall from floor to top of sideboard. 57 1/2" to top of mirror. It is 47 1/2" wide and 22" deep. Baltimore, c.1820 This sideboard form. For its time, was fairly novel, appearing in the October 1822 issue of Ackerman’s Repository. The pyramidal doors open without suggestion of their being doors, and the drawers above are architecturally developed within the cornice molding. The depressed marble mixing surface is also fairly novel, below which is a pull-out serving slide and drawer. The backsplash is developed with a mirror flanked by carved cornucopia. The quality of which is truly exceptional(see detail) this also can be seen in a sideboard heavier in feeling at Winterthur and another related ... moresideboard is in our collection( Still another of this form can be seen at the Art Institute of Chicago. Without the carved, mirrored backsplash. Also, a variant without the middle pull-out slide and a boxy two-drawer middle section is shown on the attached scan. The midsection of the sideboard is quite dramatically executed with a curved skirt and paneled recessed interior. Compare this with the last comparative example above to see the design development. Gadrooning is used here above each of the drawers with beading around each of the main door panels. All of which rest on small carved paw feet with acanthus and scrolled foliate carving. Swedish 1900 Antique Carved Oak Sideboard Server. Leather Doors. A splendid sideboard or server was lavishly hand carved in Sweden in the early 1900's. Solid fine grained oak. The top has been revarnished for durability and stain resistance. The rest of the finish is original and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Center doors have original leather with brass studs. A key works brass locks in all the doors. Drawers have original oak knobs and dovetailed joints. Outer doors have authentic"linen fold" carving and wooden pegs at the joints in the Renaissance manner. The rear gallery has spiral columns and a groove to display plates on this furniture. Here is a marvelous antique heavy carved English dresser. Circa 1900-1920, and in very nice condition as described in detail under condition above and in my multiple pictures included here. This is an absolutely lovely sturdy solid heavy carved oak piece. With dovetailed drawers, gorgeous carvings and lots of open cabinet space below for storage on blind shelves behind the decorative doors. There are two large functional drawers and all the old metal hardware on this piece is intact and appears original. This terrific early twentieth century piece has a large work or serving space, 55 inches long by almost 20 inches deep front to back at a height of 38 inches providing lots of options for this piece from use as a dresser, to a sideboard, or even better yet an awesome large flat screen TV stand, which you can use either with or without the ... moreback mantle in place, which removes for safe shipping either way. This gorgeous antique heavy carved pece was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland and was manufactured in either England or Scotland. The surface height on this dresser is 38 inches and the large base piece measures 55 inches long by 19 3/4 inches deep, front to back. the two large drawers across the top are each 21 3/4 inches wide by 13 3/4 inches front to back and 3 3/4 inches deep. The open cabinet space behind the two lower decorative heavy carved doors measures 51 3/4 inches wide by 15 1/4 inch front to back to 25 inches tall and is divided in half by one shelf, leaving 10 3/4 inches clearance above the base of the cabinet and 10 3/4 inches above the shelf which runs the width of the cabinet. Absolutely stunning solid walnut carved china closet. I have owned this piece for the last 38 years. Sadly. It is time to downsize and this piece simply cannot come with me. It originally came out of an old estate in Beloit, Wisconsin. It has no real finish on it. I have kept the wood oiled and natural. The glass is all original to the piece. The corners are hand blown round glass that fit perfectly into the scrolling. Everyone who ever came into my home admired it-a piece of art really. Overall. It measures 8'10" tall x 5' 6" wide. The bottom piece is 43.25" tall x 66.25" wide x 23" deep. The top is 62" tall x 65.5" wide x 17.5" deep. I measured from the widest parts(trim pieces included) I have all the original keys, but some of the locks no longer function as they should. Here for sale we have a very Rare Victorian Walnut Sideboard. It is the Renaissance Revival period. This piece has elaborate carving that is seldom seen except in private collections. The Sideboard is a large one with the curved wood bottom topped by White Beveled Marble. And a fancy figural carved top of a Moustachioed Gentleman. There are fruit flowers and other carvings from top to bottom. Please see our pictures for a visual description. The finish is all original, and has only been cleaned and polished. The marble is in great shape and matches the curve of the wood with its beveled Bull Nose edge. The drawers and doors are all in great shape and work fully functional. We are not sure of the exact cabinet maker, but the quality is as good as any Horner piece. The top and the marble come off for easy transport. Item up for bid is a spectacular antique folk art piece in the form of a miniature carved wood Gothic style sideboard. There is some wear to the wood seen in several areas and some paint wear in various spots. Wooden panel on the top has a horizontal crack in the wood that runs the length of the top panel. Door on the right slides out and closes as it should. There is a crack seen in the ornate woodworking on the top where it looks like an old repair was made. This piece measures roughly 10 7/8" wide at it's widest part by just over 9.5" tall at the tallest point. The veneered fir and its solid walnut apliques are painted to a high gloss black. This is a very high quality piece with excellent fit and finish. Most of the cabinet has minor nicks and scratches that expose the woodwork underneath for a patination that most reproductions try to replicate. However. This genuine Country French sideboard, server or buffet has understated detailing. The top has been revarnished for durability, the rest is original, waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain its patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Brass hardware is original. Lower door locks and keys work. The center door has a slight warp, see photos. Drawers have dovetailed joints on this antique furniture from France. Newcastle and is marked such with a button tag on the edge of the top center drawer. It has lovely fleur-di-lis and other heavy carvings on the doors and trim, shield back mantle and very nice large top surface. This delightful old piece even has a cellarette inside the right side lower cabinet as well as lots of open cabinet space as well as two large central drawers. The absolutely gorgeous heavy original teardrop brass hardware, 3 inch tear drops on the drawers and 1 3/4 inch tear drops on the side cabinet doors, is an additional highlight of this lovely piece of early 20th century English furniture along with the beautifully turned barley twist stretcher. ... moreThis is a large sturdy piece and can serve alternate purposes as well such as a perfect large flt screen TV stand or providing extra counter space in an old style country kitchen with it's very functional large 39 1/2 inch tall height work surface. Antique Highly Carved Rosewood Oriental Sideboard Media Center
Offered to you is a beautiful solid rosewood highly carved sideboard that would be perfect for use as a dining area piece or because of it's narrow depth a foyer or entryway piece or as a media center with a flatscreen T.V. The cabinet is intricately carved on the front. Both sides, and the top which is recessed and covered with glass. The cabinet measures 60" across the front by 30 1/2" tall by 18 3/4" deep at the widest.
