Baker Furniture credenza buffet server sideboard vintage mahogany Charak Drexel
Circa 1959- Superior Construction Mahogany- American Vintage Modern 68" wide. 19" deep and 32" high Superior construction. Exquisite detail and uncompromising form in a Credenza Sideboard assumed produced April 1959. We had an experienced wood worker look at this and he was fairly certain it was Mahogany. We have no firm attribution on this but have noted that Charak made sideboards using identical components that are featured on this. And even similar use of break fronts with lines for Tommi Parzinger. Drexel& Baker made styles like this. We have failed to ID it. The lengths that the maker went to on this sideboard is quite indicative of the best of the era and we have been unable to ascertain the maker. Piano hinges for the middle swing doors. Brass rods to prevent the doors from over-swing. Smoothest movement of the ... moremiddle drawer. Solid shelving and flawless drawer movement. Boasts 8 drawers and a large central area with sliding hidden drawer with extreme construction designed to take very large amounts of weight. All produced from solid wood. Note the use of banded wood on the top that travels around the breakfront. Based on the brass/bronze pulls used we are fairly certain this is the work of either Charak Modern or Baker Furniture however Dunbar and Johnsons furniture both produced similar sideboards with handle pulls that very closely resemble this one. 100% vintage condition with the mildest signs of use. Will impress and is display quality. This item weighs at least 300 pounds and will require blanket wrap delivery. The price quote included most Eastern States and New york. Please ask if uncertain.

This listing is for a beautiful Baker Furniture sideboard or bar cabinet. Made in Italy this heirloom piece is from the Milling Road collection. We are the original owners and purchased it from a Baker Gallery about 9 years ago. It is richly detailed and thoughtfully made for multifunctional use. There are two paper lined drawers on top and the bottom doors open to a very large amount of storage. There is one shelf inside that is adjustable and there is a pre-made opening that allows for wires in the event you wish to store electronics. Appliances(small refrigerator if you want to use it in a guest room) or a tv. There is a 5" scratch on the bottom of the inside of the cabinet but it cannot be seen with the doors closed or if you are storing something inside. I think the piece is mahogany wood and it is in a distressed country French/Italian ... moretype of finish. This gorgeous Baker cabinet would make an incredible addition to your home. Baker Sideboard Server Credenza Chalk Paint English Yellow Graphite Black Top. We gave this vintage good quality Baker Furniture sideboard or credenza an update with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in English Yellow with Graphite applied to the top. We used dark wax to give the piece an aged. Country British look and feel! We replaced the front door panels with light weight metal or tin with round circular design and updated the hard ware with brushed copper colored handles. The sideboard measures 585. length by 19" deep and 34.25" tall. There are 3 doors and the 2 end doors reveal an area with a removable center shelf. The current measurements are 15.5" deep by 16" tall by 18.5" wide for the top shelf and the bottom shelf area is only 12.5" height. The center door reveals 2 drawers for utensils or if used as credenza, ... morewriting and office supplies. There are 5 compartments in each drawer, sort of laid out for utensils but adaptable for many uses. The front of the sideboard has a curved finish and there are actually 2 dents or dings/ indentations that we covered nicely with the paint. The tin or metal inserts do have some lines and almost indentations from the process of installing. See photos. See interior shots for original colors. Not a boring piece of furniture. Gorgeous Baker 2530 Historic Charleston Banded Mahogany Sideboard Server
This mahogany bowfront sideboard is reproduced from an English Hepplewhite original circa 1790. Found in a historic private Charleston, SC house. Double banded inlays grace the highly figured top, while two maple fan inlays adorn the front. The drawers are decorated with rich canted and cornered linework, and are supported by tapered, inlaid legs ending in spade feet.
