I have for sale an absolutely beautiful antique Berkey& Gay dining set with matching buffet! Please see more pictures at the link below. This is a stunning example of American made furniture. Beautifully built and wonderfully decorated with burled walnut accents. It has a classic. Timeless style that is hard to find these days, a quality that just isn't found in modern furniture any more. I believe this set was made in the 1930's. As indicated by the brass tag used on the inside of the buffet drawer(pictured) The set is in very good condition! Very solid and kept well. There's a few spots of age on the buffet and some signs of use, but for a set that is 80+ years old, it's to be expected. It needs a good polishing and maybe some oil, but obviously it was taken care of. I am selling this set for a family friend. It belonged ... moreto her mother-in-law and believe to have been purchased new, and kept in the family. It was only used on holidays and special occasions. This super antique French 2 piece walnut buffet would date to the second half of the 19th century and is in good condition. The cupboard to the bottom has a single shelf to the inside which is enclosed with a pair of fine panel doors. These doors have a working lock with key which also operates the frieze drawers which run with ease. Have applied moldings and original ring handles. The top section has a panel back with 2 carved brackets which support the top shelf. This is all complimented with a fine raised carved pediment. We are pleased to offer this beautiful. Art Deco era, Jacobean style, antique walnut sideboard, buffet or sofa/entry table. This exceptionally nice piece features an abundance of ornate detailing. The front legs are substantial and feature turned and block wood. The turned, spherical sections have carved design. The pattern is made prominent by the use of darker stain in the crevices of the carving. The back legs are more streamlined and have a carved, linear center. The darker stain is again used to contrast the pattern. A sleek stretcher extends between each leg. The cabinet face is quite striking. There are 2 doors, both with inset panels of burled wood. The door pulls are wood as well. In between the doors is a large, carved acanthus leaf detail. A series of small, incised stars surrounds the cabinet's top exterior edge. The bottom ... moreof the cabinet is skirted on the sides with an arched line to the skirt. The bottom front features a decorative corbel detail on each side. There are linear accents of turned wood that adorn each corner section. Cabinet also features large interior storage. The cabinet is simply beautiful. It is in incredible condition with very little evidence of age or use. There are a few, VERY MINOR, surface scratches which are barely visible and not at all distracting. The cabinet was manufactured by the Lammert's Furniture Company in St. Louis, Missouri. The cabinet is stamped"25-93" The"25" indicates that the piece was manufactured in 1925. The only flaws being a few scratches, and nicks, as shown in pictures. Otherwise there is absolutely no damage or breaks or cracks, and all hardware is original brass, that definitely needs to be polished to look brass again, incredible for a piece from 1885. The description as read on an 1980 appraisal of actual value,NOT INSURANCE, reads as follows. Buffet, oak, American, circa 1850s-80s, 92"wide, 36"high, 19"deep, brass hardware, 5 top drawers, pretty large some with dividers for silverware, etc. and 5 doors. I do have an appraisal for this from 25 years ago. The original key is also included. As all the drawers and cabinets have key holes to be locked. Drawers and doors have wooden keyhole covers. The marble top has normal wear for age-some stains and small chips-no cracks noted. Antique Walnut Wood & Beveled Mirror For Buffet Dresser Mantle Sideboard
Very nice vintage or antique mirror that looks as though it came from a buffet. Sideboard cupboard, or a mantle. This is a very heavy item. The wood frame is a dark wood and looks like walnut but could be oak. The top of the mirror comes to a swirled point and then into a square. The back is put together with nails and wavy staples. There was new picture wire hanger that was added to the mirror when I purchased it but I removed it. that is why there are two holes on each side. There are no markings or numbers on the mirror. Measures 27-1/4"L x 17"H x 3/4" thick. The mirror is beveled around the edges and does have dark silvery spots in places. For auction here is a lovely example of a 19th century antique walnut buffet sideboard used in dining rooms and large kitchens for storing and displaying your china. As you can see it has a lovely patination. Quality fielded and carved panels along with nicely balustraded shelves, the drawers are fully oak lined. The top of the sideboard has opened up a little( see photo) due to shrinkage commensurate with a piece of furniture of this age but does not affect its function. The servery top has a marble slab insert, in brown, cream and grey colourway, and a small raised shelf on beautifully carved and turned supports. Gorgeous Victorian era marble top server or sideboard. This beautiful piece has been capped with a gray and white marble top with rounded corners. The server show signs of high-quality construction including a paneled back and sides and sturdy dovetail joint drawers. The two drawers have fluted edges surrounding burl walnut inlay. Pressed brass pulls with a sun-like like design and silver-friendly linings. The lower cabinet has two doors, each with a burl walnut panel framed in a molded edge. The ring shaped pulls and brass escutcheons are made from brass. This piece most likely dates from the late 19th century. No maker's marks. The server is in good antique condition with some small holes in the marble top. See pictured example. The locks have been removed. It features a beautiful backsplash that has a large beveled mirror. A beveled pediment adorned with carvings and scrolled brackets and it has distinguished fluted columns with shaped supports. The top surface seems to be slightly warped and the backsplash does not flush with it but it is not distracting at all. The mirror has some aged signs of hazing but it is mostly visible from an angle as photographed against a dark area otherwise it can be overlooked. In addition this buffet has 2 very heavy drawers with dovetail joinery that have shaped fronts with very attractive brass handles and fancy hardware. There are 2 cabinets that have 5 fixed shelves including a convenient*cellarette. They have 2 paneled doors adorned with shaped scroll designs and lovely brass pulls.
