I am unsure if the type of wood it is made from, but it is most likely mahogany or walnut. This sideboard has amazing carved details on the embossed panels, and is very majestic, while being delicate and ornate at the same time. There are four (4) beautiful bun style finials and an incredible carved pediment at the top of the piece. The key is intact with the piece. The piece has adjustable shelves on the top cabinet, and more shelving in the bottom section. This can be seen in the photos.

ANTIQUE LARGE HEAVY CARVED MAHOGANY SIDEBOARD CABINET BEVELED MIRRORS CARVINGS
Here is a absolutely gorgeous early 20th century oversize beautifully carved mahogany sideboard is paneled with detailed carvings on the lower doors and mantle back panels. Fluted edges, two beveled mirror back candle stands, display shelves, and large work or serving surface, drawers and cabinet space below, recently imported from the United Kingdom through Edinburgh, Scotland. Please take the time to look at my close up photo's of these beautiful carvings including urns, a figure- perhaps Neptune and the words GLORIA NON PRADEA in the top center, and tall stone towers on the central lower doors. This sideboard is not in perfect condition but it is overall seasoned and in very nice commensurate with it's age with primarily the minor nicks, dents and scratches to the finish and a few minor dark stains to the top surface as one expects ... morewith respectful use over this length of time but the mahogany is lovely and the more one looks at the hand carvings, you realized how detailed the work is and how exceptional this very large piece is overall. I've included a number of photographs in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition construction and overall beauty of this marvelous circa 1900-1920's sideboard. This fabulous sideboard stands 63 inches tall and measures 80 1/2 inches long by 25 inches front to back. With a surface height of 38 inches and an upper shelf the length of the piece 57 1/2 inches above the floor. The sideboard when shipped will travel in two pieces- the top section 25 inches tall by 9 1/2 inches front to back by 80 inches long, and the base, 38 inches tall by 25 inches front to back and 80 1/2 inches long. The beveled mirrors on either end of the top section measure 11 1/4 inches wide by 10 1/2 inches tall. This impressive example has a shaped square edged top with crossbanding over two long drawers with three drawers flanked by cupboard doors raised on square tapering supports with spade feet. Structurally very sound, some drawers are a bit stiff to pull out, especially the bottom one, could use the drawer slides being sanded down a bit and then waxed. The side bow doors open to a compartment, the top center silver drawer in tiger quartersawn oak, the bottom drawer for tablecloths and linens. The oval brasses are crisply cast. Includes the three locks, no key. It measures 37-1/2" tall by 75-1/2" wide by 24" deep. Excellent condition: original finish without wear, no ring spots in top. Here is an absolutely gorgeous late 19th century Scottish mahogany sideboard with shield back decorative mantle and lovely doors. Top surface and side panels. This wonderful circa 1870-1880's Victorian buffet has ample storage with it's three large drawers and open cabinet space below, including fittings for several additional drawers in the far left cabinet as shown. Recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh, Scotland this terrific oversize mahogany cabinet is a real find, particularly in such nice original condition. This sideboard stands 69 inches wide by 26 1/2 inches front to back. Measuring 50 inches tall to the top of the removable mantle with carved shield back wood decorative and with a work surface height of 38 3/4 inches tall. The two large outer drawers are each 16 1/2 inches wide by 20 1/2 inches front to back by ... more2 inches deep while the center drawer is 27 inches wide by 19 1/2 inches front to back by 2 inches deep. The two outer lower cabinet offer space behind the lovely doors 17 1/4 inches wide by 26 inches tall. On the far left there are two shelves within their fittings, each 16 1/2 wide by 19 1/2 inches front to back by 3 1/2 inches deep, with about 15 inches tall by 20 inches front to back open space below. On the right side, this space is simply divided in two by one fixed shelf that creates space 14 1/4 inch wide by 20 inches front to back with 11 inches clearance above the shelf and 14 1/2 inches clearance below the shelf above the base of the cabinet. The interior of the large central cabinet with it's lovely paneled back is 28 inches wide by 18 inches front to back and also 26 inches tall, with one removable shelf which can be used to divide the cabinet space or not.
