A most beautifully designed. Carved, and flame veneered on fronts, antique late Federal/early Empire, solid mahogany sideboard. The finest craftmanship we have had in many years. The four front columns are twist rope carved, carved pinched drape collared, with carved scroll capitols, the front legs carved to match. The uprights between the drawers with relief carved stiff acanthus leaves. The drawers and doors have recessed panels, the drawers with the original mahogany knobs. Behind the doored compartments are three original shelves. Pine case, solid mahogany sides with recessed panel. The top is one fine mahogany board, the backsplash very fine, the side splash with nicely shaped ends. It measures 4'3" 51" tall by 6'1" 64" wide by 2' 24" deep. It is a wonderful scaled-down example after the originals of a century prior. Throughout the surface, a warm mellowing and patina have developed quite nicely, the result being an overall presentation that is quite above reproach. It is angular with outstanding lines, these accentuated by the fruitwood stringer inlay in each panel and door, bellflowers inlaid above the front two tapered legs. The drawer retains it's first pair of brass knobs, the sides hand dovetailed and the bottom ... moresliding into the sides in routed grooves on either side. It has a wealth of cabinet space, the middle cabinet divided with a single shelf in the interior. This is a fine reproduction for a classical or Federal dining room where space is a challenge and size of furnishings is of important consideration. Well preserved and extremely attractive. This piece allows you to bring early American appeal to the dining room without dominating the space. Measurements: 47 5/8" wide x 17 5/8" deep x 35 3/4" high Condition Report: No key- the right cabinet door swings open when not locked. Light scuffs and dings throughout to the surface: legs with light wear. The top with minor scratches and a darkened area. Repaired crack beside hinge of left-central swinging door, a pair of screws used on the inside to restore this permanently. Slight warp to the right door, not particularly noteworthy. A fine antique. Circa 1920's, Sheraton style mahogany great hall sideboard with string and panel satinwood inlays. There is a finely carved fruited basket applied at center. There are six drawers with patinated brass bail handles, with five(of six) locks present. Drawer interiors have green felt lining. There are ten tapered and squared legs with carved flutes. Sideboard measures 8'4" 100" wide by 35-1/2" tall by 26" deep. Excellent condition: nicely refinished to a light brown. Break to the case at top of right center front leg(see photo. All string and panel inlays present. All flame veneered fronts and side panels are without chips. The top surface is without ring spots, 4" long shrinkage crack from top right end edge, a few mild indent scratches.

A simply gorgeous late Chippendale style diminutive serpentine sideboard server/ buffet circa 1910. This is an extremely high end custom made centennial reproduction with 100 years of age. Fully veneered in bookmatched crotch mahogany and inlaid with shells and tulips; with contrasting satinwood edgebanding. It has always been kept indoors. There is absolutely no fading of the rich wood colors. It is approximately 33 inches high. 18 3/4 inches deep, and 42 inches wide, and is in excellent overall condition with the original finish intact. As you can see in the pictures a hot pan was placed on the right side at some time in the past and wrinkled the finish before being quickly removed. I would recommend the top only be refinished. A very fine antique. Circa 1890's, solid mahogany, and flame or stripped mahogany veneers, Empire Revival 7' sideboard. The framed panel backsplash has half round column ends with carved capitols. The top board has a fine stripped mahogany veneer. The sides are solid mahogany boards. There are four large carved paw feet on front case. The case columns are full round solid mahogany. Three drawers are on top, both side drawers line in velvet for flatware, the center drawer with mahogany interior. Below aretwo side compartments with shelf, the interior light finished mahogany. The center bowed doors with flame veneers open to another light finish compartment, a drawer below. Sideboard measures 49-1/2" tall at backsplash, by 7' 60" wide, by 30-1/2 deep at claw feet. The door and drawer fronts are flame mahogany butterflied veneers, the sideboard with a walnut finish. It measures 3' 36-3/4" tall by 5'4" 64-1/2" wide by 21" deep. A very nice antique. Circa 1800, Federal bow side and serpentine front mahogany sideboard. The flame mahogany top board is solid and not veneer. The legs are solid mahogany with string inlay and oval inlay rosettes. The side panels, drawer, and door are flame mahogany veneers with bands of uncommon checkerboard inlay. The case interior is maple and oak. Glass drawer knobs are replacements to original wood or brass knobs. All locks present with three keys for left door, right door, and top drawer, lower compartment doors have no key. Sideboard measures 3'4" 40" tall by 6' 72" wide by 23" deep. Very good condition: original unworn finish, minor tiny veneer chip or nick here or there. Some cracking to veneers where doors and side panel boards behind them have aged. A very dynamic antique. Circa 1810, Federal Period solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneer sideboard. The backsplash is unusual in being a broken arch with reeded chimneys, the splash showing a vibrant flame veneer. The top is one board, except the bow center is another board. There are three drawers over four doors. The center doors open to a compartment with a single straight stationary shelf, the side compartments with a concave front stationary shelf. The brass knobs and escutcheons are original, most of the brass locks on reverse are new. The four front turned legs have brass booties. The center drawer interior has later felt lining for flatware. We are pleased to offer this exquisite. Early 20th century, buffet/sideboard or grand entry table. This lovely piece features Mahogany veneer with exotic, eye catching, grain pattern. It is in the Chippendale style with French influence. The buffet has a beautiful, double, curved front leg design on each side with carved ball and talon feet. There is a raised, acanthus leaf detail with a light cream, painted finish(original) The back legs are straight. The top of the server features the beautifully grained mahogany and is surrounded with a deeply carved, rope border that is burnished in the crevices for greater interest. The server is quite functional and there is ample storage. There is a single, long top drawer that runs the width of the server. The company was known as a"fine" furniture maker and made upper end pieces. The company was purchased in 1920 and later became Luce Furniture. The original manufacturer's sticker is present. The buffet is in extremely nice condition for its age with only minor evidence of age or use. There are very minor scuffs and some very light scratches. But nothing severe or distracting. The painted acanthus details have surface cracks which are very normal for this type of finish in pieces of this age. This lovely sideboard was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh. Scotland and is a high quality mid-century English reproduction piece in a traditional banded crotch mahogany design. We would assume it was altered or composed during the late 19th Century using a period sideboard from the first years of the 19th Century, lending it all of the patina and vivid craftsmanship we cherish in period objects while allowing it to be suitable for the modern dining room of that era. Few period sideboards are of the right size to aesthetically work with the average dining room, but this piece is of the perfect dimensions to do so. The craftsmanship is impeccable with bold and well selected crotch ... moremahogany veneers on the drawer and flanking doors. These protected by cockbead molding around the edges and over the hand dovetailing of the drawer. The cast Lion Mask pulls are correct for the period but are later replacements using the same holes. The frame from beneath shows the exposed dovetailing that joins the frame permanently, the entire piece resting over tapered legs on spade feet. While this is not a good choice for the purist collector. It is an absolutely fabulous sideboard for anyone with a more petite dining room space who loves the warmth and wear of a early objects. It is in outstanding condition and will certainly be a cherished part of your dining room for a lifetime. Top replaced, pulls are replacements in the same holes, old gouge to right side of the case(well oxidized with a nice patina) chip beneath drawer. Sturdy and strong. Antique Mahogany Sideboard with Matching Dining Room Table
Beautiful antique mahogany sideboard with matching dining room table. Both pieces have lovely detail work with fluted edges and applied. Carved embellishments. Age of pieces not known but guessing 100 years old. A few nicks and scratches. Sideboard measures 22”deep x 66” wide x 37.5”tall and includes a silverware drawer. Hardware is original. Table measures 42”wide x 64”long x 30”high and includes a varnished homemade 24”leaf to expand to 88” Commercial custom made felt backed table pad including pad section for the leaf. No chairs included.
