Beautiful Victorian Eastlake walnut sideboard/buffet with marble top. It has 2 drawers and 2 doors. Each drawer has 2 hand carved leaves and nuts wood pulls. One of the pulls has a small chipped edge and screws have been placed through it. Drawers have hand cut dove tails. Each door features recessed oval panels of burl walnut. Drawers and doors have wooden keyhole covers. The marble top has normal wear for age-some stains and small chips-no cracks noted. The marble has 2 drilled holes-it appears to have previously had a mirror attached. Measurements: 42 3/4"W x 37"T x 19 1/2"D We estimate that it weighs approximately 80-90 lbs. Mid century modern or deco vintage antique sideboard buffet cabinet hutch burl
A fine Italian marquetry sideboard. It features impressive flame-mahogany and burl-walnut veneers, classic angle-fronted drawers, beveled and etched-glass doors, a marble top, scalloped edges, and bronze and Bakelite hardware. The piece comes apart in two sections, with the back and upper cupboards lifting off the base section. Dimensions are approx. 76" H x 62" W x 21" D. The piece is original and authentic. And as such there is evidence of minor damage to the veneer, with a few small chips on the top and front of some drawers, and the left hand glass door. I have attempted to show this in the last 3 photos. The effect is hardly noticeable, and does nothing to detract from the rather elegant majesty of the piece. Spectacular& rare customized antique side table Check out the stunning gorgeous walnut flame/burl grains on the top.incredible beauty which was hidden under a failed opaque finish I restored this table using my own special black distressed hand rubbed finish.The entire finish was hand restored including hand scraping& sanding the top. By design. I left nicks, dings, veneer chips, and character marks in the wood prior to restoration. You can see the beautiful chestnut colors show through the hand rub distressed black finish. I sealed the black with hand rubbed varnish as a glaze to provide a special depth and beauty. The table dates from Circa 1920.the Kiel company operated their second plant in Milwaukee. There was no need for the sides/legs to be removable, so I chose to make it much more solid I love the original trim around the edges of the top. It has great details The top is made from a 4 way book-matched(4 pieces of veneer book-matched together)walnut burl veneer.I meticulously hand rubbed 10 coats of varnish to achieve the incredible luster and depth which showcases the walnut wood.there are small natural cracks& a few tiny dings in the center of the top burled area.all character is consistent with its age. That is what makes it a beautiful antique The medallions on the ends. Sides& legs are made from Bakelite(original resin) or Bakelite type material. The medallions have some cracks and a few medallions have cracks& small pieces missing. Antique Walnut Wood & Beveled Mirror For Buffet Dresser Mantle Sideboard
Very nice vintage or antique mirror that looks as though it came from a buffet. Sideboard cupboard, or a mantle. This is a very heavy item. The wood frame is a dark wood and looks like walnut but could be oak. The top of the mirror comes to a swirled point and then into a square. The back is put together with nails and wavy staples. There was new picture wire hanger that was added to the mirror when I purchased it but I removed it. that is why there are two holes on each side. There are no markings or numbers on the mirror. Measures 27-1/4"L x 17"H x 3/4" thick. The mirror is beveled around the edges and does have dark silvery spots in places. There is one large drawer with 2 knobs, which has a removable inset to divide the drawer into 2 sections. There appear to have been one or two further insets which are no longer there. The cupboard has 2 shelves.I have painted the exterior(excluding back) and the interior of the doors in 3 coats of Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint& then tastefully distressed it to highlight the beautiful carvings& to give it a shabby chic look. It has then been given a good coat of Annie Sloan clear wax to preserve it for many years to come.I have left the back in it's original condition(please see pictures to see raised splits which do not affect the solid craftsmanship) to maintain the history of the item. I am not sure if this is Edwardian or much later from the 1950's or 1960's, I suspect the latter. It has a serpentine front and top shape& is supported on six slender legs. Four at the front, two at the back. The top is cross-banded and has tramline edging. It has inlaid detailing around the top and the cupboard and drawer fronts. The sideboard consists of two central drawers flanked on either side by a single-door cupboard. Each with a removable wooden shelf inside. The servery top has a marble slab insert, in brown, cream and grey colourway, and a small raised shelf on beautifully carved and turned supports. Antique tiger oak beveled serpentine mirror carved griffins buffet / sideboard
Here is a fantastic tiger oak buffet/ sideboard with fully carved griffins at the ends of the beveled serpentine mirror. Its ALL original. My grandparents had this when it was new. It has been in my family since day one. Im the last one to have it and its time to let it go. It has been refinished only ONCE. Just re varnished about 30+ ago. Very clean inside and out. No stains, Drawers slide easily! The buffet measures 48 in wide. 24 in deep, and 56 in to top of mirror. 40 in to top of buffet, mirror is almost 17 in tall itself, the serpentine mirror is 3.5 in deep itself and the fully carved griffins are 9.5 in tall and 2.5 in thick. The only things missing are the key to the drawers and some of the metal tab stoppers for the drawers but they can be replaced. The feet are carved lion paws with the wood wheel casters. The back of the mirror ... morehas the number 613 painted on back. Which is probably the model number and the words Doll Class, which may mean the grade of quality of the piece. Its an excellent quality buffet. ALL the tiger oak veneer is present and in excellent condition, This piece needs no work and the mirror is screwed to the buffet with 10 wood screws( it comes off for easy moving) ONLY the bottom linen drawer needed to be re glued& re nailed, the linens were very heavy. This unique solid wood sideboard/ buffet was made in Brooklyn. New York in the mid to late 1920’s and owned by my Grandmother, who passed it on to me. The piece has an unusual design and is in great condition considering its use and age. The sideboard measures 40" wide by 39" tall by 20" deep and it has one long drawer. Arriving with my consignors most recent shipment of antiques from the UK, this gorgeous old sideboard has some nice age and I attempt to use my photographs to show it's quality construction and ample functional storage in a wonderful solid wood cabinet. This piece has two large side drawers and four central drawers, all beautifully dovetailed and two of which are actually divided felt lined drawers. On each side is functional open cabinet space behind decorative wood doors and the piece appears to have it's original old hardware as well. Another nice feature is the original, but partial, Broyhill Industries label attached to the back. The cabinet has not been cleaned or refinished. Circa 1890 Solid oak Hand carved No key Age separations to top Missing moulding on right side Sturdy Very good overall condition, This is a Victorian period antique carved console made from solid oak wood. It is a gorgeous piece of antique furniture that can be used in a variety of places within the home. This console would be an excellent piece for any area that you need a narrow depth piece. Such as behind a sofa or in a hallway. A common motif among carved oak Victorian furniture is“the hunt” This console is true to that ... moremotif with carved fish and fowl on the doors complimented by carved flora up the sides and drawers. The drawer handles are actually hand carved leaves. A truly unique and beautiful look. Both drawers function smoothly and were created with hand cut dovetailed joints. This is a sign of proper construction and age. The doors have a keyhole and there is a lock on the right door. But no key exists. There is no catch on the left door either. Despite this, both doors still remain shut when they are closed. Inside is one wooden shelf. It is removable but not adjustable. There is some minor wear on this console as you would expect from a Victorian era antique. This consists mainly of minor wear marks around the bottom moulding and feet. The top has sustained some age separations which are purely cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. You will also see on the right side. Near the top, that the moulding is missing from the small rectangle section. We have called this out in the pictures. It is in the French hunting style that was popular at that time. This is a spectacular piece with a beautiful original finish and ornate carvings. It is made from solid oak finished very dark. This cabinet is in very good antique condition: very sturdy and solid and with no damage of any significance. Dimensions: 45" high. 61.5" wide and 22" deep. Questions? Phone or text 503 307 3889 any time. Description of item for sale: This flame mahogany vasselier is from France and dates to the Louis Philippe period of 1830-1848. The exposed woodwork is a mix of solid mahogany and thick flame mahogany veneering that is finished to a beautiful. Warm color. All parts are straight and solid and fit together as they should. The doors fit well. Operate smoothly and lock securely. Overall the cabinet is in very good antique condition. There are a few minor cracks that are very typical of old mahogany woodwork(see photos) There is also a metal bracket on the backside of one of the legs that was put there to support the leg because of a small amount of old dry rot(see photos) There are some worm holes on the back of the cabinet.
