This listing is for an Antique. Victorian, handmade tilting coffee pot server/pitcher. Research shows it to be from around circa 1890-ish. It is nice heavy piece made of quadruple plated silver. Servants would carry these or they could be left on the stand for serve yourself. It does show some age. Which only gave it more character to us, you be the judge, the tarnish is nicely shadowed on the humble yet ornate handmade piece. There is a small bend in the front and another even smaller, dent on the lid. Also, someone drilled a hole in the bottom of the pot to better serve whatever purpose they had it for(perhaps for drainage as a planter) Both of the above mentioned flaws were present already when we purchased it June 10, 2000(13 years ago) when we paid $257.25 at the Antique Market of Michigan City, Inc, Our original receipt is tucked inside ... morethe coffee pot. Up for sale is an Antique 1847 Rogers Bros Silver Plate Pie/Cake Server and Meat Fork in the Ambassador Pattern. These are in good condition with medium overall tarnish. Scratching, plate loss and finish wear. The pie or cake server is approx. 10 in long by 2.25 in wide. The fork is approx. 8.25 in long by 1.75 in wide. They seem smaller in the pictures. But in reality are quite large. The pie server is monogrammed'N' and the fork is not monogrammed. The fork is marked 1847 Rogers Bros on the back of the handle. Socialites, and royals of English and European society including those engaged in the sports of kings, racing and/or yachting. The condition of the wine bottle server is near pristine. It is being offered as-found and unpolished. There are no repairs or alterations. It has been in my family as long as I can remember and I am now 75 years old. This piece has great patina. The veneer has bubbled and chipped in a couple of spots but its hardly noticeable. The over all condition of this piece is excellent for its age. It is a very old antique and will not be perfect. I do not know the exact date it was made or who the maker is. The base measures 39 inches tall, 53 inches side to side and 23 inches front to back. It weighs 75 pounds. The top measures 34 ½ inches tall, 49 1/8 inches side to side and 17 1/8 inches front to back. It weighs 97 pounds. It's very difficult to take pictures when there is a mirror. And this is a large piece. The pictures do not do this piece justice! This Server is sitting in the back room of my shop, and I just didn't have the room to focus for a picture. The glare is terrible in some of the pics. And the blue showing in the mirror is from a tarp thats hanging in the building. I had the server redone as far as replacing the marble top. And all the drawer pulls. They were replaced with brass ones as close to what might be original as I could find. Two keys are included. As far as I know the mirrors are original. Description You are considering a lovely and petite condiment set made by the George K. Webster Company. Formed in 1869 in North Attleboro Massachusetts. Only 5" tall, this cute set has three glass bottle shakers with pierced sterling screw tops that seat nicely in the sterling caddy. One top is not marked and another has slightly different size from the other two. I don't know what the third condiment might be besides salt and pepper. Photos will show condition. Definitely some dents, surface chips to glass, and some tarnish, but otherwise, such a sweet little table accent. The George Webster mark is on the caddy and two of the tops, a"W" with arrow running through from left to right. Here is some info about the maker: The George K. Up for auction is this beautiful ANTIQUE SILVER PLATE DESSERT SERVER with the most gorgeous REPOUSSE DESIGN with OPEN WORK. The elegant handle consists of an intertwined vine with open work. Leading up to a blooming rose at the top. The handle just seems to flow into the wedge flat server piece. Almost gripping it with the vines. The wedge is adorned with more blooming roses, and leaves with more open work, with curls and swirls all done with great craftsmanship and intricate designs, making this piece a true work of art. Using repousse and then chasing technique gives this server great depth! The back shows how the raised repousse designs are formed from the back. I don't see a makers mark. Or a silver mark. All hand engraved. The handle has a cartouche on the front side that has been monogrammed, AW. The same cartouche is repeated on the back, but is not monogrammed. This piece is.900 purity silver and made by Bigelow& Kennard. Marked as such. It is American and dates from 1845-1860. It is in excellent condition!
