There is a short top shelf above the backsplash mirror. The mirror appears to be original and it does have some slight fogging and freckling. The backsplash mirror is beveled and flanked by“S” corbels supporting the upper shelf. The base has 4 drawers and 2 doors all with wood knob pulls. The two top drawers are bow front. The drawer on the left is lined with faded green velvet and divided into 3 sections. The drawers all have dovetail construction and glide in and out easily. The doors hide open storage. Casters sit beneath the large curved Empire style feet on all 4 legs. This piece does have some nicks and scuffs from the years however it is in overall great condition. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. This buffet measures 55 1/8 inches tall. 61 ¾ inches side to side and 25 3/8 inches front to back. Circa 1920 Oak Back splash is not original Few small stains(see description) Sturdy and heavy Has key, Made from a wonderful selection of English oak. This antique Arts and Crafts sideboard is a sturdy and beautiful addition for any dining room. Not only does it provide more than ample storage, it also has a unique and eye-catching look to it. This sideboard was made sometime around the year 1920 in England. The oak wood has a lovely. Light patina that will continue to grow deeper and more beautiful ... moreas it ages. For storage there are two large drawers and three cabinet sections. Both drawers open and close easily and were constructed with dovetailed drawer joints. There are two large drop ring brass handles on each drawer. The three cabinet doors are each decorated with beautiful carvings that have a very regal look to them. The left cabinet contains two pull out slides that are lined with green felt. the felt is old and dingy) The center cabinet is completely open although it appears to have had shelves or slides at one point. The right hand cabinet has one pull out drawer at the bottom which appears to be a later addition to the piece. All three doors lock and one key is included. Being such a heavy and sturdy Arts and Crafts sideboard this piece has withstood the test of time very well. There are a few minor cosmetic issues to mention. There is a small light stain on the bottom moulding near the left front foot. The right side panel has a slight age separation to it. The top has a few old stains and a ring mark. TALL CARVED ANTIQUE OAK ENGLISH DRESSER MIRRORBACK SIDEBOARD CABINET UK IMPORT
Here is an tall oversize antique beautifully carved oak sideboard with fabulous carvings on the doors on the lower cabinets. Fronts of the drawers and all around the mantle and with three gorgeous beveled mirrors, two candle stands and lovely carved bonnet on the removable decorative back mantle over a strong sturdy base with two large drawers over two large cabinets. With the back mantle in place this sideboard stands 86.5 inches tall by 62 inches long by 20.5 inches deep, front to back. It travels in two pieces- the large base cabinet which measures 40 inches tall by 60 inches long by 20.5 inches front to back and second piece, the carved back piece with three beveled mirrors and two candle stands which measures 46.5 inches tall by 7.5 inches front to back by 62 inches long. There are two large drawers. 26 inches wide by 16 inches front ... moreto back by 3 inches deep. The lower cabinet below the drawers, behind the two lovely carved doors is 58 inches wide by 17 inches front to back by 27 inches clearance height, offering lots of storage space below the nice functional work surface. The old metal hardware is beautiful though two of the pulls are off and in a drawer as noted above with repairs to their backplates needed. The three beveled mirors have only minor pitting and are clear and intact. My multiple pictures are included to assist in accurate representation on the sideboard. This delightful buffet was recently imported from the UK through Edinburgh and I believe it to be a late 19th to early 20th century English or Scottish piece and would have been considered an expensive high quality piece of furniture even in it's day. It appears that it may have a mixture of quarter-sawn and plain-sawn oak in it's make-up. Hand made dovetail joints. Solid oak with beautiful carvings, bevel leaded mirrors and windows. The bottom drawer is a s ingle full width drawer! There i s a built-in felt lined silverware drawer in the right cabinet! Each set of cabinets are designed to lock! note- locks are in place- there are no keys) The Buffet Table is Approximately 6' 72" in length x 38" Tall(42.5" tall including back splashboard) x 23" Deep The cabinet height from the top of the legs is approximately 22" Over all. This buffet table is in very good condition for it's age, but it does need some minor repairs- please see below for details- The top of the table does show wear from use and age. Most of the wear is sur face wear and a lot of it could probably ... morebe buffed out if so desired. The photo was taken at an angle to capture the detail and over emphasi zes the appearance. Aesthetically. The biggest issue is the small piece of missing trim on the right side of the left half of the drawer. There are two spindles that are not in place across the bottom. Unfortunately. There is only one spindle available, the second spindle is missing and will need to be replaced. Functionally. The drawer is currently difficult to open and close, but I believe this is due to the bottom spindles not being in place and would be easily remedied. There is a small area(about quarter sized) on the left top of the table that was there at the time the table was made and is simply a characteristic fl aw in the wood that was used and simply adds to the unique antique characteristics of the entire piece. These are all relatively easy repairs. But they are repairs that are best left to those with experience in the area of antique repairs. Overall- a very beautiful piece of American history! The doors have a fielded panel with intricate brass handles with original key. The drawer also has matching brass handles. One cupboard has two pull out trays. Here we have a beautiful French Oak display case. The front door is carved oak in a Deco style. It has beveled glass all around with a mirrored back. It measures 19 1/2 inches tall. 13 3/8 inches deep and 14 3/8 inches wide. The interior plate glass shelf measures 12 1/2 inches by 11 1/4 inches. It is in excellent condition with a slight bit of finish loss to the top only. The lock works smoothly and has the original brass Art Deco key. This is one of a pair we are selling, originally meant to sit on the top of a sideboard. Available for your condsideration is an Antique Victorian Era/ Turn of the Century Sideboard/ Buffet which is made of a Beautiful Tiger Oak Wood. This Antique Tiger Oak Sideboard/ Buffet is in Good Used Condition. I believe the mirror to be newer replacement and not original to the piece. The mirror is in excellent condition with No Chips. Cracks or Scratches to the silvering. In the back of the large single middle drawer in the upper right hand corner/ back piece is a knot hole. Finally, the lower right hand bottom door is stuck and I believe is due to the ball latch being frozen, can probably be easily fixed. No other problems to report and the finish on the entire piece is in very good condition. This Vintage Tiger Oak sideboard measures about 51" in height when including the mirror and 38" high to the top of the buffet. This ... morebuffet measures 42 1/2" wide and 20" deep. The bottom drawers held the altar linens, etc. There is still an outline on the very top where there was a cross hanging on the wood. Recently used in a dining room to hold china, tablecloths, platters, and liquor. Really unique piece. The drawers are very shallow, so would be perfect to hold maps, architectual drawing, art work, etc. Also has 2 larger drawers toward the bottom. The top has many drawers in addition to the small cupboard, plus 2 shelves to use for display. Circa 1870, originating from England. The top of the dresser features a dark rich oak two-plank top. Below, there is a central ... morebank of four working drawers. The dresser features the original solid brass escutcheons with swan neck handles. The two cupboard doors feature working locks and a key.
