The sideboard is solid oak in a medium stain finish. It features carved wood twist details on the sides and carved, fluted legs. The center section of the sideboard features an exquisitely carved figural scene. Each side of the cabinet opens to reveal the storage area. The doors do not have hardware pulls. They open by unlocking and they do retain their original locks as well as the beautiful key. The storage section is completely open and not divided. The removable upper galleries would have displayed a woman's family pewter and china- these heirlooms and the cabinet were part of a bride's dowry, descending through daughters. This Jacobean Sideboard Server dates from 1920 and is in beautiful condition. The hardware and all drawers and carvings are 100% Original. Antique tiger oak beveled serpentine mirror carved griffins buffet / sideboard
Here is a fantastic tiger oak buffet/ sideboard with fully carved griffins at the ends of the beveled serpentine mirror. Its ALL original. My grandparents had this when it was new. It has been in my family since day one. Im the last one to have it and its time to let it go. It has been refinished only ONCE. Just re varnished about 30+ ago. Very clean inside and out. No stains, Drawers slide easily! The buffet measures 48 in wide. 24 in deep, and 56 in to top of mirror. 40 in to top of buffet, mirror is almost 17 in tall itself, the serpentine mirror is 3.5 in deep itself and the fully carved griffins are 9.5 in tall and 2.5 in thick. The only things missing are the key to the drawers and some of the metal tab stoppers for the drawers but they can be replaced. The feet are carved lion paws with the wood wheel casters. The back of the mirror ... morehas the number 613 painted on back. Which is probably the model number and the words Doll Class, which may mean the grade of quality of the piece. Its an excellent quality buffet. ALL the tiger oak veneer is present and in excellent condition, This piece needs no work and the mirror is screwed to the buffet with 10 wood screws( it comes off for easy moving) ONLY the bottom linen drawer needed to be re glued& re nailed, the linens were very heavy. A very fine antique. Circa 1880's, quartersawn oak sideboard with mottled brown marble top. The style is a combination of Renaissance and Classical. Two part construction. The top section with column supported shelf has a broken pediment type crest having finial, and spindel gallery. The marble is a meander of gray and cream in a chestnut brown color. The case has two long drawers over a two doored compartment. Fancy brass handles to all oak interior drawers, the doors with carved lion heads on tablets. Includes the lock and key. it measures 5'8" 68" tall by 4'3" 51" wide by 20" deep. the top shelf 7" deep. Below the case is a column supported long shelf over bun feet. Excellent condition: oak boards without chips or cracks, original dark finish. The marble slab is without cracks or chips.

Here is an absolutely fabulous early to mid-19th century heavy carved oak sideboard with hutch top in the tradition of a Welsh dresser with beautiful dragon motif carvings on the doors. A lovely form, hand dovetailed drawers and detailed carving on all edges and trim including dentition on three sides around the top. It has small cabinets behind the ornately carved dragon doors in the hutch section as well as display shelves, and has drawers across the top with more open cabinet space below in the base section, which is where you see the traditionally older construction front to back planking across the bottom. This antique heavy carved sideboard with hutch top stand 85 inches tall and measures 69 inches wide and 17 inches deep. Front to back. It travels easy in two pieces- the top hutch top measuring 69 wide by 12 front to back by 50 inches tall. The two cabinets behind the beautifully carved doors in the top are each 13 1/2 inches wide by 9 inches deep front to back and 24 inches tall, with a shelf splitting that space with 11 inches clearance above the cabinet base and 9 inches clearance across the shelf. There are also display shelves, with 9 1/2 inches clearance above the base below the shelf, then 12 inches clearance above the first shelf and 24 inches of clearance above the second shelf, below the exquisitely carved bonnet or cornice. A very wonderful antique. Circa 1890's, quartersawn oak mirrored sideboard with deep carvings of griffin shelf supports, and applied deep carvings of scrolled acanthus leaves. Two piece construction. The case is on front carved stylized paw feet. From the griffin heads to the finials of the mirror frame are carved oak chains. Large beveled mirror. There is a long oak plate bar on the shelf. The two top drawers, and the long drawer beneath, have unusual brass exotic crescent drawer pulls. The right drawer is divided for flatware. The bottom doors each open to a compartment. The secondary wood is plain oak. The sideboard measures 6'3" 75" tall by 5'6" 66" wide by 2' deep. Very good plus condition: original unworn finish, top center surface of sideboard with 10" wide by 1-1/2" deep waterstain which ... morehas flaked the finish. 2-1/2" tall chip to right edge of the mirror frame. A common motif among carved oak Victorian furniture is“the hunt” This console is true to that ... moremotif with carved fish and fowl on the doors complimented by carved flora up the sides and drawers. The drawer handles are actually hand carved leaves. A truly unique and beautiful look. Both drawers function smoothly and were created with hand cut dovetailed joints. This is a sign of proper construction and age. The doors have a keyhole and there is a lock on the right door. But no key exists. There is no catch on the left door either. Despite this, both doors still remain shut when they are closed. Inside is one wooden shelf. It is removable but not adjustable. There is some minor wear on this console as you would expect from a Victorian era antique. This consists mainly of minor wear marks around the bottom moulding and feet. The top has sustained some age separations which are purely cosmetic and do not affect the structural integrity of the piece. You will also see on the right side. Near the top, that the moulding is missing from the small rectangle section. We have called this out in the pictures. This is a very nice 1890s vintage small oak sideboard. The finish is so nice I'm guessing it might have been refinished sometime in the past 10 years. It's very pretty and very clean.
