Depth 23 inches across ... morefront marble. Mirror top to marble base. 26 inches. 46 inches from floor to marble base. Interior side shelves measure 17 inches long and 7 1/2 inches wide. 2 side doors swing out to the side. Main body interior is 16 inches deep by 48 inches long by 30 inches tall. 2 front drawers with two side drawers. Swing out to the side as shown! Solid oak everywhere! Even the drawer linings. Draw sides and back are all oak and not an inferior wood. The interior is all oak. The doors lock but I have lost the key! Currently all the doors are unlocked! Inside at the back somebody cut a hole out. Not sure why that was done but it is there! The only newish part is an interior shelf which is in the main body. I believe it is still solid oak but it lacks the patina of the original. The glass is not damaged anywhere. The marble has exquisite shading and color. With pink, grey and purple variations. It has light scratches on the top and minor tiny chips on the edge as expected for a piece this age. It is not broken anywhere! The carvings are so wonderful with urns. Horns, ribbons, roses, tassels, swags and leaves. Both front panels have cracks on the decoration as seen in the photographs. Very reluctantly for sale! I recently moved from an much larger house and really do not have the room for this any more. This is HEAVILY carved and EXTREMELY detailed. The top section comes off for moving. But the bottom half will require at least 4-6 men to move it. This piece has 7 locking doors. 4 drawers and 9 beautifully carved unique outdoor scenes. There is one shelf running the length of the top and one behind the doors on the bottom. This is all hand-made. It truly must be seen to be fully appreciated. I am not sure of the age. But one professional assessment put it in the Elizabethan period. There are no obvious markings indicating origin or age. Overall the piece is in very very good condition. There are two areas of damage. On the very top there is a crack and some damage on the underside of the top concealed behind the right pillar. Antique English Barley Twist Golden Oak Mirror Backsplash Sideboard Buffet $500
The base has two large center drawers with dovetail joinery and paneled doors on either side with decorative floral shaped accents. The left door opens to reveal a space with one shelf. The space inside the right door has no shelves, so is great for storing tall items; I used this buffet as a bar for many years because the right cupboard was tall enough to accommodate bottles. The cast metal handles are all original and in great shape, however one pull is missing from the left door. Each door was originally fitted with a lock, however the locks have been removed. The back-splash features barley twist columns on each side with a small shelf on top of each. Center has an oval beveled mirror which has some flaws and could benefit from re-silvering. On either side of the mirror are the same decorative floral accents that appear on the doors. ... moreTop surface is quality wood grain and has only one or two small imperfections for its age but has no rings or stains. Left front side has a unique feature; the craftsman opted to work around a knot hole rather than replace the piece of wood he was working with. See last photo. Some areas of the buffet have some inactive worm holes and some separation of joints. The buffet stands on two straight back legs and two beautifully carved barley twist front legs with pear feet. The legs are connected by an'H' stretcher for added stability and support. Mirrored back-splash is removable for transport. Dimensions: 48" wide x 18" deep. 36" high. Here is a terrific antique heavy carved dark oak barley twist sideboard in very nice condition commensurate with it's age. It was manufactured in England by Bopwith and Company. Newcastle and is marked such with a button tag on the edge of the top center drawer. It has lovely fleur-di-lis and other heavy carvings on the doors and trim, shield back mantle and very nice large top surface. This delightful old piece even has a cellarette inside the right side lower cabinet as well as lots of open cabinet space as well as two large central drawers. The absolutely gorgeous heavy original teardrop brass hardware, 3 inch tear drops on the drawers and 1 3/4 inch tear drops on the side cabinet doors, is an additional highlight of this lovely piece of early 20th century English furniture along with the beautifully turned barley twist stretcher. ... moreThis is a large sturdy piece and can serve alternate purposes as well such as a perfect large flt screen TV stand or providing extra counter space in an old style country kitchen with it's very functional large 39 1/2 inch tall height work surface. This sideboard stands 56 inches tall to the top of the removable back mantle and measures 72 inches long by 22 inches deep. Front to back.
