The original beveled mirror is also in great condition with very minor shadowing in the silver. The mirror measures 39” by 18 ½” The roaring lions’ heads are part of the pillars which support the middle and top shelves. $50 off in time for xmas Very nice antique buffet. Believe it's oak. Measures 65"Wx39"Tx21"D I cant find a makers stamp or marking. I know its very old. It was bought out of an antique shop in Lakewood. Ohio about 20 years ago. Looks like the finish is starting to peel on the sides. The marble is a wonderful color match or the oak wood with tans and taupes throughout. It would be an excellent piece in a dining room or to use as a bar. The wood used is solid oak and the entire piece is quite heavy. Despite its weight. It is also very sturdy and strong. There are two drawers and two cabinet doors in this marble top server that provide a good amount of storage. The cabinets and the back splash have complimenting wood carvings that also tie in to the brass drawer handles. Not sparing any attention to detail, the maker also fluted the front corners by the cabinet doors, paneled the sides and back splash, and added plate grooves to the back splash for displaying fine china. All of these fine details combine to make a truly wonderful antique marble top server. This antique server is in excellent condition. The drawers and doors function correctly. Wobbles, loose joints, or any other issues to report that would be deemed detrimental to the buffet. it features abundant quartersawn oak flake over the entire piece. it has a long drawer across the top with dividers in it and two large drawers below it in the center and of course as you see two doors, one on either side, that expose a large storage area which has a half shelf which may be put in if desired. the i have the holder ... morepins for the shelves. all the locks are extremely clean and quite functional. the drops on the drawers are large and solid brass and are heavy since they are solid. the buffet is 60 inches wide, 39.5 inches to the top of the cabinet portion and 54.25 inches to the top of the crest of the back splash. it is 24 inches deep. it moves easily on its original metal casters. the piece is rock solid, all original with no missing parts or pieces and no repairs that is see. it is near mint condition. it matches a table i now have listed as well as a set of 6 chairs. i tried the set together with no luck, so i have busted it up and will sell the pieces separately. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. good luck. fyi. Antique Belgian Carved Oak Buffet / Sideboard
I have owned this beautiful oak sideboard for about 10 years. It is in nice shape with the original finish. It has a few minor condition issues(see photos) Nothing serious. Measures 86 1/2 inches wide, 23 1/4 inches deep, and 51 inches tall. It is made to come apart. So it is much easier to move than it appears. My Father told me it was common for old furniture to come apart in northern Europe as stairways and doors were often narrow. The family I bought it from purchased it in the 1950's from a friend who imported antiques from Belgium. They used it as a store fixture(it has a check guarantee bank sticker on the back) and later in their home. No shipping on this item. You will need to pick it up at my house in Portland. This piece has gorgeous grain and still retains its original DARK finish. Has two smaller drawers across the top and one large drawer across the middle. And cabinet with two doors below- all with original wooden knobs. Columns/pillars on either side of the mirror. It is in very good/excellent condition with some normal wear on the feet. Some small scuffs on the top(nothing major- the worst is shown) small nicks and scratches here and there, and the cabinet doors each need a latch. Otherwise great with maybe some dust. It's not too bad but as expected, you'd probably want to clean it to your liking before using it. The drawers have keyholes/key holes. I might have the ... morekey lying around- will have to check. This beautiful rare piece is 26 1/2" tall to top of cabinet(facia is another 1 1/2" x 8" deep at the buffet level and the hutch portion is 5" at its deepest. Beautiful. Rich grain throughout, it has miniature carving on doors. Trim is detailed. Complete wood construction, as are the handles. The condition is lovely, but is commensurate with age. There are two trim bumps/chips and all four wooden feet are chipped. A very few minor'age cracks' in wood. Slight pin-holes around upper door handle. A straight cut top blends into the rolled front silverware and napkin drawers, curved front linen drawer, and bottom doors that conceal your finest china. The beautifully rolled legs go all the way down the sides for a majestic appearance. Brass knobs match brass key holes on all three drawers that lock away your special things for just the right occasion. One key fits all three drawers and it IS included. That's right, we DO have the original Eagle Lock Co. key! The silverware drawer ... moreis divided into three sections and is lined with the original green velvet. The napkin and linen drawers are not lined. The linen drawers offers tons of space so you can be sure all of your treasured tablecloths will fit. Two doors open on the bottom to reveal a large storage space that is more than adequate for your finest china. On the sides of the buffet you will find more gorgeous Tiger Oak and straight back legs that go from the top to the bottom of the buffet for a strong support. The back is finished with standard plywood and is original to the piece. Originally there was a top for the buffet but I do not have that piece, and to be quite honest I think the piece works much better with today's decor without the top. As you can see in the photos, the finish overall is nice, but it does have some nicks and chips in a few places, as can be expected with a piece that is almost 200 years old. It was refinished at some point. The discoloration on the sides is far less noticeable than it appears in the photos. Structurally, the buffet is in great shape, very strong.
