There is a short top shelf above the backsplash mirror. The mirror appears to be original and it does have some slight fogging and freckling. The backsplash mirror is beveled and flanked by“S” corbels supporting the upper shelf. The base has 4 drawers and 2 doors all with wood knob pulls. The two top drawers are bow front. The drawer on the left is lined with faded green velvet and divided into 3 sections. The drawers all have dovetail construction and glide in and out easily. The doors hide open storage. Casters sit beneath the large curved Empire style feet on all 4 legs. This piece does have some nicks and scuffs from the years however it is in overall great condition. I do not know the maker or exact date it was made. This piece is antique and will not be perfect. This buffet measures 55 1/8 inches tall. 61 ¾ inches side to side and 25 3/8 inches front to back. Main body interior is 16 inches deep by 48 inches long by 30 inches tall. 2 front drawers with two side drawers. Swing out to the side as shown! Solid oak everywhere! Even the drawer linings. Draw sides and back are all oak and not an inferior wood. The interior is all oak. The doors lock but I have lost the key! Currently all the doors are unlocked! Inside at the back somebody cut a hole out. Not sure why that was done but it is there! The only newish part is an interior shelf which is in the main body. I believe it is still solid oak but it lacks the patina of the original. The glass is not damaged anywhere. The marble has exquisite shading and color. With pink, grey and purple variations. It has light scratches on the top and minor tiny chips on the edge as expected for a piece this age. It is not broken anywhere! The carvings are so wonderful with urns. Horns, ribbons, roses, tassels, swags and leaves. Both front panels have cracks on the decoration as seen in the photographs. Very reluctantly for sale! Local pick up preferred but we will work with your shipper or we can get you a quote from a company we use. Coast to coast is probably around $400 to $500 dollars. Non smoking home. The long drawer in the middle needs slight repair to the bottom of the drawer to keep it from sticking. original glass knobs are gone but easily found in antique markets.this piece was covered in multiple layers of oil paint. The hinges to doors are missing. One door is cracked but can be repaired with glue. Please take a look at the pictures of the claw foot legs and hand-cut dovetail joints. It is approximately 1930s European. This was purchased by our family in 1950 at an antique store in San Jose. California. Local pick up Salem. Oregon. If outside of this area you will need to arrange for pickup. Up for auction is a very nice Antique Mission Oak Arts& Crafts Sideboard/Buffet. It is solid oak- very sturdy and very heavy. The mirror/shelf can be detached and it can be used as a server without the mirror if you like. It is in great shape for furniture of this age but it does have some rings on the surface(see 3rd photo- the picture makes them look worse than they are- nothing a quick surface refinishing wouldn't fix) I guestimate this is around 100 years old. It has all original hardware. Mirror, and a key as seen in the photos. Antique English Barley Twist Golden Oak Mirror Backsplash Sideboard Buffet $500
The base has two large center drawers with dovetail joinery and paneled doors on either side with decorative floral shaped accents. The left door opens to reveal a space with one shelf. The space inside the right door has no shelves, so is great for storing tall items; I used this buffet as a bar for many years because the right cupboard was tall enough to accommodate bottles. The cast metal handles are all original and in great shape, however one pull is missing from the left door. Each door was originally fitted with a lock, however the locks have been removed. The back-splash features barley twist columns on each side with a small shelf on top of each. Center has an oval beveled mirror which has some flaws and could benefit from re-silvering. On either side of the mirror are the same decorative floral accents that appear on the doors. ... moreTop surface is quality wood grain and has only one or two small imperfections for its age but has no rings or stains. Left front side has a unique feature; the craftsman opted to work around a knot hole rather than replace the piece of wood he was working with. See last photo. Some areas of the buffet have some inactive worm holes and some separation of joints. The buffet stands on two straight back legs and two beautifully carved barley twist front legs with pear feet. The legs are connected by an'H' stretcher for added stability and support. Mirrored back-splash is removable for transport. Dimensions: 48" wide x 18" deep. 36" high. Early 20th century tiger oak server/buffet with beveled mirror over four drawers and three door cupboards. Original brass hardware intact. Good condition for age. Measurements are 5' wide. 25" deep and 55" high(including mirror and shelf) Server has wood carved grape decorations. There is one dark stain on top surface of server, a veneer issue on right hand front corner, and a missing piece to one of the grape decorations(see photos) A partial newspaper dated 1905 was found inside the top middle drawer.
