The desk retains the original photograph from when it was retailed by Jacques Bodart, Inc. during the first quarter of the 20th Century, noting this as#1681. It is a gorgeous piece, the original gilt highlighted tooled green leather preserved in remarkable condition, framed in well patinated molded mahogany over five drawers. The desk rests over four tapered and stop-fluted legs with square brass caps over each leg and terminating in plain brass capped feet. Jacques Bodart. Inc. crafted very fine reproductions of Louis XVI 18th and 19th Century antique furniture, marketing these to interior designers and decorators around the country from their showroom in New York City. This is a simply outstanding selection, only more so due to the fine patina and character developed throughout, perfect for home decorators and those passionate about original French designs. Measurements: 55 1/8" wide x 28 1/4" deep x 30" high; wings are 12 3/4" across when fully extended. 21 5/8" deep. Condition Report: Nice patinated and almost certainly original surface. Sunbleached on the front and sides, color well preserved in the back. Very minor dings and abrasions here and there throughout, including minor blemishes and stains to the leather top. No key. Outstanding Pair of Furniture Fragments Carved Wooden Pegasus Horse Sculptures
I love it when something salvaged can live a new life as something else. These sculptures were adornments to the arms of a sofa. They make excellent bookends but why let your creativity stop there? The carving is extraordinarily animated exposing the nobility of these creatures. Alert ears(small chips here) arched neck and even the veins in the face are superb. Each piece is 16" x 10" x 2.5" Due to the heavy weight. These should not be combined shipped with other items won. Many items I am selling came from a furniture and designcompany that went out of business in 1997. Some pieces were removed fromfurniture that was in disrepair other pieces were left over stock fromarchitectural design projects. This is the apron f rom an antique table that was about 68"X48" It was an oval table. So some of these are more curved since they were on the ends and the straighter ones were the sides. They are mortise and tenon. One piece has a n edge that is broken off near the end on the back. Please look over pictures) These are almost 6" wide at the widest and each piece is about 23"2 3.5" lo ng. these are r eally HEAVY! They will cost at lea st $35. to ship. Maybe more! They are about 30 pounds before packing! There are a few missing edges. I will include any I have. But I don't know if I have them all. Also include are the pieces that you screw to the bottom of your tab le. T hat slide into the grove on the back of these to hold the apron on your table. I think these are oak. Furniture/piano stool feet - Glass - cast iron - ball - Antique - Collectible
These four cast iron and glass ball feet came off a piano stool which was beyond repair. The feet are about 4” tall. With a 7/8” inside diameter opening, that tapers to about ½” at the bottom. The glass balls are full of tiny bubbles, have a horizontal casting seam in the middle, and a ½” diameter flattened spot on the bottom. This will cast them at approximately an 80 °( angle when flat on the floor. They are dirty and the gold paint is worn. Otherwise. They are in good, antique condition. PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND TERMS BEFORE BIDDING! FREE SHIPPING! Up for auction are Five antique/ vintage furniture cast iron wooden wheel casters(5) total Circa 1880’s. Recovered from an antique furniture carpenters inventory. They are we believe to be Payson Mfg Co. 360 Degree cast iron casters with wooden wheels. An extensive research of the web produced none like it and only two similar larger casters made by Payton. The casters are stamped P Mfg Co. Nov 22 81 as best as can be seen. But the full name cannot or was not included on these. Two of the five still have the original wooden wheels; the other three have fallen off. They are unique because the three 1/4” mounting holes are hidden within the skirted swivel base which holds the disc shaped Babbitt bearings. The mounting screws are screwed in via the underside access hole ... moreas it rotates around(see pictures) The wooden wheels can be replaced because casters of this era were“pinned” in place. Remove pin insert wooden wheel and reinsert pins blunting the ends. The dimensions are as follows(approximately) Overall measurements of each caster is 2- 3/4' tall by 1– 1/2'wide. Mounting Plates are 1– 1/2" in diameter and the stem insert is 1” tall. The wheels measure 1– 1/8” by 5/8” and provide 1– 3/4” overall clearance furniture. Good condition for their age. All spin freely without extensive rust issues. They were cleaned and lightly oiled and can be easily restored for authentic antique furniture restoration, but some want to maintain the antiquity and current condition so we are leaving restoration decision to you. These pieces are made of metal, but it does not attract a magnet. They each measures approximately 2 7/8" in diameter. The back is marked, Japan" with the number"981" A very nice find, great for reuse on any piece of furniture or to be repurposed to accent any steampunk style project. Outstanding vintage mid-century modern two-tiered end table made in the 1960's by Lane Furniture. This side or end table(no. 997-07) was made as part of the"Rhythm" collection. It is made from solid walnut. But has a lighter coloration, closer to teak. Clean, sleek modern lines were likely inspired by the Danish Modern movement. The underside of the table is stamped with serial numbers and the Lane mark. Overall, this table is in very good condition. However, there is some light wear and scratching consistent with use One watermark see photo. No breaks or repairs. The table stands 14 1/4" tall at the lower surface and 21 1/4" at the top tier. He was appointed associate curator and executive secretary of the Winterthur Corporation in charge of the operation of the museum. In 1954 Montgomery was appointed director of the museum, and was instrumental in the establishment of the Winterthur Program in Early American Culture.
