This antique Marshall Field's roll top is in good condition. I know that this piece originally came from the Marshall Fields headquarters before it shut down and then was sold to a Merrill Lynch executive. There are signs of wear on the corners and the legs from a desk chair but is in very good condition overall for being nearly 100 years old. All drawers open and close smoothly. And so does the roll top. But all drawers slide easily and smoothly, the same way the rolltop rolls open and closed. Any hesitation on any drawer is easily rectified with a gentle stroke of a bar of soap on the drawer-rail. 1884 Roll Top Desk with Corbin Cabinet Lock(CCL. RollTop) Excellent heavy wood. Locking roll top desk. The top rolls over the open desk and locks with a key; doing so also locks the top drawer as well. The lock is made by CCL(Corbin Cabinet Lock) they've been around since the 1800's. It is a two piece unit; the roll top desk area can be separated simply by lifting it from it's base(drawer area) It's also easy to move around due to base mounted wheels. There are far more than enough'cubbyholes' for all your knickknacks; including three rarely found vertical side slots(1@ 17" 2@ 8 1/2" There are two small drawers and dual pen holders in this area as well(see photos) The desk top surface area has wooden bumper guards at both sides. The base leg/feet area is of a'closed architecture' type(as opposed to ... morean open back style; see photos) and sports 8 drawers with 2 hidden sleeves on either side that you pull to extend(~18" The desk top itself has various glass/cup ring stains(see photos) There is a two piece spring loaded internal mechanism which serves to prevent the top from moving around. One of these pieces has come loose(part is included) and looks to be fairly easy to repair. Even still. It's function is basically unnecessary, due to the weight of the roll top(it won't be moving/sliding around) Being internal, this mishap is entirely hidden from any viewpoint angle. One of the four wheels is missing. The framework of this wheel is still intact, but the'wheel' itself is not there. The other three wheels are fine; the desk can still be easily moved around by the remaining three. The only history on this desk that I could dig up was from the previous owners that say it was owned by their friends Great Grandfather; a North Carolina abolitionist politician who also apparently wrote books. Let me start by saying that this desk has been professionally restored to it's original grandeur.There are lovely raised panels everywhere. Even the inside of the opening for the desk chair. This is a very unique roll top desk. It has small drawers on the inside to hold mail etc. The table top pulls out to use for writing etc. and the three bottom drawers are in great working condition for many uses. There are no keys for this desk. Everything is sturdy, it is heavy and in great working condition. It is gently used with a few small chips on the front three lower drawers as shown in photos. Vintage Small Toy sized Handmade Rolltop Desk
A Wonderful Vintage Toy sized Rolltop Desk with an unusual story behind it. I bought this at an Estate Sale in Western Ky. The Story Said it was made by a long time prison inmate in Kentucky approximately 50 years ago. It had four little drawers(one missing) and a long upper drawer. The rolltop section works great. Opening to show the smooth desk. It is all wood, although I do not know what type. There are two openings at the top seperated by a small mirror. The little desk measures 10 1/2" wide, 11 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" deep. I believe it to be a Collectible rather than a toy. A Very Unique Item.

Up for sale is a antique C roll top desk. It is paneled oak. It looks to still have it's original finish on it. This was shipped over from Europe years ago. The desk is 47 1/2inches wide,28 1/2inches deep and 43 1/4inches tall. The desk does show some damage and is dirty. It has some cigarette burns on the flat pull outs on the one side. It also has damage from the key being lost and someone using a screwdriver to pry it open. Some other minor dings and scratches. This Circa 1900"S" Rolltop desk has been in the family for 64 years. It is a part of my fathers estate and will be sold to the highest bidder. The overall dimensions are approximately 55 inches wide. 51 inches tall, and 35 inches deep. The writing surface is approx. 32 inches high. The upper storage area consists of 10 drawers and 18 cubicles. The lower storage area has 9 drawers with the center drawer having its own key. There are also two pull-out writing boards, one on each side. The S rolltop works in both directions. My father invested well over $2,500. for his desk. Good luck and we hope it goes to a good home.

Not being able to find it on the Internet I believe this is a pickers dream is absolutely beautiful, there are approximately 3 hairline separations in the wood the most I would do is to inject a new type of glue that I don't know the name of the person that told me about it moved out of town, but not only does the glue hydrate the wood it also pulls the wood together and seals it with a very high tech glue?

Wood Rolltop Desk. A.H. Revell & Co circa 1920
Wooden rolltop desk made around 1920 by A.H. Revell& Co furniture. Beautiful condition. But eight inch section of the top of the rolltop is unattached. That 8-inch section is original and matching, is in good condition, and is included. The top(secretary/rolltop portion) can be taken off and that section is 50 inches wide X 13 inches tall X 32 inches deep. Six drawers and one small door with non-functional key in top piece. Bottom(desk portion) is 50 inches wide X 31.5 inches tall X 32 inches deep. Seven Drawers in bottom piece. Top drawer on each side automatically locks and requires a hidden lever to be pushed down to unlock them. All drawers and doors work and move smoothly. All eight legs are capped in a dark brass and all have a functioning swivel wheel. Beautiful Piece in excellent condition(email if you want close up pictures on ... moreanything specific) The top portion of the desk is so nice we have always kept the rolltop up and so that missing section didn't even matter.
