The mahogany displays a rich complexion and a striking grain. Making this bureau bookcase a fine prospect for any furniture collection. The brass hardware and glass doors also look quite lovely, particularly the arched Queen Anne style glass frames. The desk area is inlaid with a writing surface of rich brown leather, which is as beautiful as it is pleasant to write on. The elegant cabriole legs also remain very sturdy. Naturally this bureau bookcase has sustained some light wear, particularly a few scuffs on the feet, but such wear is light for a piece of this age, which otherwise remains in excellent condition. This piece also disassmbles into the top and bottom sections for shipping and convenient movement; the top simply sits on top of the base. We recommend securing the two sections with the provided screws once the piece has been placed, as this adds extra stability, especially when opening and closing the doors. This Queen Anne style bureau bookcase would certainly make a fine addition to any furniture collection! This bureau bookcase contains plenty of storage space. This piece looks great from any angle. Rare 18th Century Queen Anne Slant Front Desk Bandy Leg Slipper Feet No Res
Rare 18th century Queen Anne slant front desk with bandy legs and slipper feet. This desk is fresh to the market from a local estate. It looks like cherry. But I believe it is actually applewood. It measures 40" wide x 38.5" tall x 17" deep with a writing height of 26" The condition is as follows. The front right foot is broken, but the original piece is there and needs to be glued back on. There are a couple of breaks to the drawer lips(se pictures) The interior is complete, but one of the cutouts on the top of the pigeon holes is replaced. Some of them need to be glued back in place. There is a little worming to the bottom board, but overall a solid piece of furniture. The wooden pulls are replacements.
