Antique Maple Furniture Finial Furniture / Architectural Salvage
This is an Antique Hardwood Furniture Finial/ Architectural Salvage. I am fairly sure the wood is maple. The finial is also decorated with carved pieces of cow bone. The portion of the finial that would be visible when installed is 8" large. The section of dowel that would mate with a hole in the piece of furniture adds an additional 1 1/4" to the length. This is an estate The finial is an estate item and we do not know the age specifically. Nor where it was made, nor what type of furniture it was part of. It looks to me like it could be from a poster bed or a sideboard, but it could be from other types of furniture as well. There is no maker's mark. At the time of the original listing. This was one of a number of new antique and vintage woodenware listings being added. WOOD FINIAL antique vintage old bed clock armoire furniture part salvaged piece
You are buying ONE(1) wood finial. about 7 1/2 inches tall. Appears to be a softwood. Stained dark. Lots of dings where the stain is chipped off. There are NO defects in the form. all the contours are smooth and undamaged.no chips or gouges. There are at least two places that are problematic. There is one line on the base that appears to be an original wood growth line. The other is a connected line on the top that outlines a large(2 inch chip) I think that the chip was reglued at the wood shop prior to staining because the line is stained and not a different color than the rest of the piece. it is round on the edges and looks like is was sanded prior to staining. it is very faint. However you will have to be the judge. I think this is a very nice piece(after touch up re-staining) and I will be happy to take it back. No questions asked.

100 yr. Old Painted Desk We have several old antique items to sell at my folks old house that I thought would best be liquidated here on Ebay. This oak secretary or writing chest is absolutely wonderful and is so much more attractive in person than the pictures. Every authentic antique painted piece of furniture of this nature is original unique and of its own beauty and this one is no exception. Green color is rich and deeper green in person than with camera flash. The green is likely an old oil based enamel or lead paint. The top surface is glared in a couple pictures appearing a different color but it is the same green color as the rest of the cabinet. The paint is not flaking or pealing but is still very strong adhering all over. Loads of character and charm. The whole piece is solid as a brick and not rickety or wobbly. This is an Antique Wooden Unfinished Oak Leaf Scrollwork Furniture Salvage Moulding Molding. The grain looks like oak and I am fairly sure that is the correct attribution for the type of wood. The overall maximum dimensions of the molding are about 9 3/4" x 4" As found. The piece has four small brads or nails protruding from the back. I am opting to leave them in place and leave it up to the buyer to remove them as they see fit. I do not know what type of furniture this piece was used on nor specifically how old it is. I am helping my 90 year old neighbor sell off his antique Korean furniture and various other dolls and wall hangings. He purchased these items well over 50 years ago when his wife was alive and actually she was the one who did the collecting. The black lacquer furniture was bought from a Korean family that was moving back to Asia. The furniture was old when my neighbor acquired it and it is show quality craftsmanship. Supposedly the people that make this furniture go blind at an early age. The detail work is incredible! The furniture is in overall very good condition for it's age. There is one end table that is NOT pictured. But it is identical to the one that IS pictured. I just didn't get a shot of it yet. Both end tables have a fairly small chip on one front corner. The furniture has some small scratches and scuffs that look like normal wear and tear to me, but I consider this furniture well above average and well taken care of. The fastening points are approximately 16 1/2" away from each other on all three sides. The piece itself stands 35 1/2" tall. Also a nice feature! The bottom stance is 40" in two directions and the third spacing is 35" making this a very stable base! Up for your consideration is this unbelievable piece of cast iron machinery that has amazing patina. The top portion is darker. Almost purple like. As you look further down it becomes lighter in color with some blues and rusty beautyness. This auction is for an antique carved wood furniture fragment in the shape of a pineapple. The symbol for hospitality and welcome. It is in shabby condition and its flaws can be clearly seen in the photographs. Please be sure to view all of them so you have a good understanding of what you are bidding on. The dark lines that you see in some of the photographs are shadows from the mullions in my windows. This is a great piece for repurposing. In its current state, it is 18 1/4" high and 5 3/4" in diameter at the top. Other dimensions are difficult to calculate due to the missing pieces.
