I am not an expert but an antique furniture appraiser looked at this piece recently and stated this is a unique desk that he's never seen one quite ... morelike it. It was likely made in the early 1900's. Made of oak. And has a spooncarved front. There are no identifying markings. It is in excellent shape and it has the original finish. Brass fittings show a bit of tarnish but should clean up easily with a little TLC. Three of the posts on the brass rail at the top are loose but can be easily secured with a little bit of attention. One of the rail ends is stripped so that will need to be secured as well. Otherwise this piece is ready for your home. I would be happy to provide more detailed photos if requested. I hate to part with such a beautiful and unique item but we no longer have the room and it just doesn't fit our decor. The dimensions are 40 1/2” tall its tallest point. 33 1/2“ wide at its widest point at the base, and 19” deep when closed, and 34“ deep when opened. Local pickup only.

Antique Hekman Furniture Co. Cordial Table Nightstand End Table Design Painted
Up for bid is a antique Hekman cordial table. End table, nightstand, not sure as I'm not a expert and couldn't find out much about this. There is nothing to compare it to on ebay as for as age and name on the bottom and number. It reads Hekman Furniture Co. Grand Rapids Mich. 117, it has roses and leaves hand painted on top corners. This table is in pretty good condition. Normal wear for age, some scratches, and distressed areas and loss of color. But worthy of some TLC or restoration I think, but like I said I'm no expert. Also one of the feet has screws in it, Look at the pictures and ask questions if needed and if anyone has one of these or knows about it I would be interested. Message me, it measures about 23" tall X 21.25" wide X 13" deep Thanks

Rare 1840s Antique Furniture Salesman Sample Empire Sofa Divan Orig, Stuff Doll
From the estate of a life long collector comes this very rare and wonderful antique. C. 1 830-1840. Salesman sample of an Empire style divan with hand carved detail and inlaid design. Retaining the original stuffing of straw or horsehair. In spectac ular condition for the age of the piece. Structura lly sound and built very well.all of the original old nails are in place without any missing. I do believe that other than the nails used in the wood slats to hold the cushion in place. That the rest of the divan is fitted and pegged. I am unsure if the upholstery is original or was possibly re upholstered later in the 19th c. But, the upholstery is old. Early and in superb condition with the s lightest bit of spotting on some of the red trim. Which is mainly under neath the arms. By pushing down on the cushion. One is abl e to tell that the cont ... moreents are original straw and/or horsehair. Inlaid wood design on all ends and sides. Wood appears to be. And I believe it to be, m a h o gany(but I am no expert in wood) As is normal there is mini mal wear and scuffing to the wood. Also wear around the feet as is shown in photos. Warm. Rich patina. There is a carpenter/ manufacturing mark underneath. I have not been able to determine what it says. Age has faded and blurred the mark(please refer to last photo) Measures approx. 22" long x 8.5" wide x 8 3/4" tall. A very wel come addition to your collection of samples or perfect as a display piece for the doll collector. Sorry. No international shipping. Thank you!

Antique Baroque French Throne Chair Furniture Medieval Castle 4 total, auction 1
So where do I begin with this item? Well. Rather than calling it a chair I will instead call it a gothic throne- With the beautiful stamped leather seats. take a look at the pictures and you will clearly see why. The carving and the craftsmanship of this throne is nothing short of stunning. The detail is so intricate and incredibly ornate.I believe that it is stained white oak. I've searched the throne over extensively and cannot find a maker's mark or name. I imported them myself from France/Belgium. Some of the back seats needs a little work as you can see in the 5th and 6th picture. Price is for one chair. If this item needs to be shipped I can make arrangements but you can also do that yourself or pick it up. I will do whatever is necessary on my end to help you facilitate the process.

In case you are thinking about making an offer on this piece please consider this: Like in most antique stores I can sometimes go to about 10% in giving discounts on items that linger longer on Ebay. My position as dealer is very compatible I have to keep my prices low as possible. There is not that much room for negotiation. I list hundreds of items every month. Most of them sell pretty quick usually within a 3 month period. But. I don't know if it will sell. I often have the“make offer” button placed in the listings. So I do not have to go back every time a listing lingers longer on eBay than usual. It simply is too much work to have to reverse those items. If I can't honor your offer. Please think about this and don't be offended. Just try again, keeping this in mind. Thank you for shopping with us and please take a minute or two to check out some of the other items in this store. ANTIQUE AMERICAN COLONIAL FURNITURE & SILVER - KAROLIK COLLECTION -1st ed SIGNED
Eighteenth Century American Arts. The M. and M. Karolik Collection of Paintings. Drawings, Engravings, Furniture, Silver, Needlework& Incidental Objects Gathered to Illustrate the Achievements of American Artists and Craftsmen of the Period from 1720 to 1820” By Edwin J. Hipkiss. Printed by the Harvard University Press in 1941. DISCUSSION: The well illustrated and important catalog of this major collection of American furniture. Silver and accessories. This beautifully printed volume, set in Monotype Bembo and with full-tone collotype illustrations, established a high visual standard for furniture catalogs that was emulated by Joseph Downs in the 1950s and Morrison Hecksher in the 1980s. The catalog includes 125 examples of high-style furniture, the vast majority from Massachusetts and Rhode Island, although some superb Philadelphia objects ... moreare included. These objects are not included in Richard Randall's 1965 catalog. Karolik's musings. As I Reflect upon the Collection" provide a fascinating look at the mind of an idiosyncratic collector" Ames& Ward 1. Maxim Karolik(1893-1963) was a Russian opera singer. Immigrant, and art collector and benefactor who cut a swath through the Boston and American collecting scenes. The magnificent bequests of American furniture and paintings he and his wife made to Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts earned them a place in the pantheon of Boston’s patrons of the arts, and their rediscovery and championing of the works of Fitz Hugh Lane and Martin Johnson Heade, along with 19th century American fine and folk artists earned them a place in American collecting lore. The Karoliks deflected such honors. And in an open letter to the MFA’s Director, Maxim Karolik declared“We are not‘Patrons of Art’ or‘Public Benefactors. We refuse to accept these banal labels. We accept with pleasure only one label: Useful’ DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 9"x11" 366 pages, 318 black& white illustrations. Inscribed on the front endpaper to Boston collector Margaret Codman, who was

Antique SETTEE & CHAIR Furniture HAND CARVED mother of pearl INLAY ball & claw
Antique SETTEE& CHAIR Furniture HAND CARVED Mother of Pearl INLAY Ball& Claw Feet I have taken this set to three local"antique dealers" and all of them have given me different dates and styles! The only thing they agree about is that these two pieces were made by the same hand(person) Whoever reupholstered these(looks like 60's-70's) man is that fabric ugly! I was told that reupholstering does not effect value as it's a very common practice and whoever did it was smart enough to leave the underside all original. The settee and chair are hand carved. Hand inlay with many different woods and with mother of pearl! They have hand carved ball and claw feet and very unique shapes. That more then makes up for ugly fabric. They have a folk art feel and are gorgeous! These photo's don't do the beautiful inlay ... moreor these pieces justice! They have original brass antique nails and"rose-head nails" hand crafted by blacksmiths; which can be identified by irregular. Rose shaped heads. Please contact me with any questions and I'll be happy to help or send more pictures. NO RESERVE! Only local pickup ONLY! Unless someone wants to pay to pack and freight ship. Thank you for looking. PS whoever gets these I know you will reupholster them but if you could when you're done I would love a picture of the finished settee and chair.

ANTIQUE AMERICAN FEDERAL FURNITURE -MONTGOMERY Sofa Chair Bureau Desk Chest
American Furniture. The Federal Period. In the Henry Francis du Pont Winterthur Museum” By Charles F. Montgomery. Published by The Viking Press in 1966. DISCUSSION: The standard work. Based on the collections at Winterthur. This catalog of federal-period furniture at Winterthur is more than that: it remains the best history of American furniture between 1790 and 1820" Ames& Ward 1) The catalog is important and well done. And the background section contains much fresh and interesting information. A fine monument to Du Pont's vision and tenacity as a collector" Karpel 2) DESCRIPTION: Hardcover. 9"x12" 497 pages, color and black& white illustrations. CONDITION NOTES: The rear cloth along the back hinge is split along its entire length. Leaving the spine board flapping-this does not actually affect the strength ... moreof the hinges much, as neither of them is attached to it[see the photo below] This is more of a visual than structural defect-the one thing that should-not- be done is the spine should not be glued down to the binding back, as the binding back needs to be able to flex and bend as the book is opened. Some cloth tape down the rear hinge would fix this, but I leave it to you to decide on that repair. Other than this problem and some wear at the tips and light cover scuffing, the book is clean and perfectly usable. SOURCE NOTES: 1. Ames& Ward(eds.
