This is probably the most colorful antique cottage milk jug I have ever seen. Vivid over-glaze enamel colors really typify so many of the English folky ... morepottery figurines from the 1800s to the 1860s. This example is in great condition except for the thick black enamel trim on the rim. Thought it is no longer chipping, a sizable amount has chipped off. Antique Victorian Staffordshire Royal Child In Kilt Sheep Lamb Figurine 19th C.
Staffordshire has a distinct look and this piece certainly fits in. From what information I've come across. This piece was made sometime between 1850-1899. It shows a Royal child standing. In what I consider a Scottish outfit, in front of his sheep. There are no marks on the bottom except a dab of red paint. I believe it may have originally come with a second piece showing a Royal girl with her sheep. This figurine shows its age with some crazing and some paint loss to his eye and kilt. It stands about 8 1/2 in. tall and is about 5 1/2 in. at its widest. There is a small hole in the back which allowed for the moisture to escape when firing. The sheep's coat is covered with a granulated ceramic. I do see a little wear to the top of the boys hat and a very slight hairline crack on the underside of the base. As far as I can tell. Everything ... moreis in original condition, with no chips or repairs. He's been on my mantle for awhile and is looking for a new home. I will try to get this mailed within 1-2 business days of receiving payment. I accept only Paypal. Please only bid if you live in the United States. Alaska and Hawaii may have to add a little extra for shipping. To all those who live in the State of New York. And are lucky enough to win this auction, please add 7% for sales tax.

Staffordshire Victorian Spaniels Statues - 1850-1880 - Mantel Pair Dogs
This gorgeous pair of mantle dogs was hand crafted and hand painted in England of Staffordshire white clay in the mid to late 1800's. This pair shows such detail and character. Typical of the early Staffordshire dogs. Notice their whiskers resemble mustaches. They each stand about 9" tall. And measure about 9 inches in length and 4 1/2" in width. They have separated front legs and paws, and are unmarked except for a small hole in the bottoms. I see no chips, cracks or other issues. There is some minor crazing which you must look hard to see. Let me know any questions and thanks very much for looking. di,RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2Bishhov%3C%3Edi-14b80c98f5f-0x115-
Antique Pair of Victorian Staffordshire Pottery Spaniel Wally Dogs
On offer are a delightful matched pair of Victorian era Staffordshire Pottery Spaniel'Wally Dogs' Popular in the late 19th and early 20th century as fireside figures. Matching figures are generally in good condition for their age. One shows slightly more deterioration with a faded muzzle. And three small glazing chips as shown in the photos on the nose, and ear. Minor crazing as is typical with Staffordshire and the gilt highlighting which would have been added as a detail to the classic chain and lock on each dog has largely disappeared(although still visible here and there) Both are still full of character. Underlying the fact that for good reason, these lovable canines are as popular today as they were 100+ years ago. No evidence of any restoration whatsoever. Measure approx. 10" 25 cm in height x 7" 18 cm in width. Both ... morebases are marked/scratched with the following: 70C-533-391 This does not look like a maker's mark-although it could be- but I think it was put there for security purposes in case these were ever stolen. PR. OLD STAFFORDSHIRE VICTORIAN SPANIEL FIGURINES-HAND PAINTED-APPROX. 5 1/2"
This auction is for a pair of unmarked Staffordshire spaniel dogs. They are about 5 1/2" tall and are hand painted. I assume one is to be male and the other female but am not sure. One has quite a bit more gray in the coat than the other one. They each have a painted gold collar but no chain decoration. The painting on each is similar but not identical. The bottoms have some crazing and each has a tiny hole in the bottom. These were purchased from a recent estate sale and the owner said they were in her Grandmother's home when she was a little girl. Please email with any questions or if you need other photos. Thanks! RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk.rp*a4%601gc%3E-14bfcf8e112-0x115-
