Cast as a tree trunk, this features an owl on tree branch, with a nest of owlets, and a rabbit in the base of the stick. It is in VERY good condition, with an interior mold crack that does NOT go through to the outside. Unmarked other than a# but most likely German. Stands 8" tall. It depicts a little boy with a bowl in his lap. Spoon in his right hand, and a bib. This was hand painted on the front. The back was not painted as was the custom at the time. This comes from a Pennsylvania estate that we purchased and have more going up for auction shortly. Very nice condition. All original. It is numbered 2734 on the back. This is a very sweet and rare to find German bisque baby created by the Karl Schneider factory c1880-1910. He is one of the nicest I have had to sell. An adorable handpainted face! very fine and rare french or German pair of hand painted polychrome bisque figurines ca late 1870's to early 1880's in mint shape no chips or cracks. While unmarked. These large bisque figurines were made in Germany during the late 19th century, c. 1890. The intaglio eyes and facial painting look very much like Gebruder Heubach. They measure 15" tall and are very heavy! They are dressed in colonial-inspired clothing which is very typical of Victorian bisque figurines. With the exception of a few minor flaws, they are in excellent condition. The girl has one broken missing finger.the pointer finger on her left hand, over the fan, is missing. There is a factory line across the back of her hair, near the neck, which occurred during the firing and is NOT damage. Other than that, the girl is perfect. The boy has two tiny, shallow flakes on the bottom edge of the base, which is common for these figurines. Other than that, he is perfect.he has all of his fingers! Antique German Conta Boehme Jardiniere Vase Figurine Dresden Victorian Bisque
An amazing Conta& Boehme figural planter. Measuring approx. 9 inches in width, and 6 1/2 inches in height. The paint and gold detailing still remain in fabulous condition. I find no breaks or cracks. Inside the little yellow holder to the far right, I feel a rough spot inside, but the flower is unharmed, so I assume it's in the original making. Since its so detailed, I've made sure to look it over very carefully, as not to miss any damage. These girls are however in need of a bath. Marked the conta shield, and Germany. Antique Porcelain Bisque Figurine of a victorian boy dressed in period clothing. Holding a flower leaning on a fence. Late 19th century- Early 20th century. Actual date is unknown believed to be of German origin. The boy is standing on a porcelain pedestal painted to look like marble. Ornate design painted on his clothing. Bright rosy cheeks, a fence with shrubs. The detailed gold gilt is rubbed off in some places through out the statue and he could could use a bath. I did not clean him. There is a very small chip on his left shoulder and there are no cracks. The overall condition of this piece is very good especially considering his age. I took many photo's in high definition at every angle and left the photo's side way's for a larger more detailed look. He stands 16 1/4 inches Tall and is 4 1/2 inches at the base. She measures 7 1/2 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches wide and is in overall excellent condition with the exception to the bottom of her sock being broken. Antique Victorian VOLKSTEDT LADY PUTTI Porcelain Plaque 19c German Bisque Figure This amazing high relief bisque plaque is attributed to Volkstedt German. Circa late 19th century. And features a classical maiden and her resting child. Made as part of a four seasons series. This one appears to be"A utumn" and has the mother and her child resting atop bales of hay. Excellent quality and attention to detail. One of the nicest plaques I have had the pleasure of listing. Approx. measurements of the plaque is 10 3/4" in diameter and approx. 2 1/2" deep. Excellent condition with minor age appropriate wear. The only thing I see that may be wrong, is the piec e she is holding in her hand. Is bit rough on bottom. From the photo of a similar one sold at Christie's(see note below) it looks like she is supposed to be holding a ... moresickle in her hand. It is not something you would not even notice unless you were looking at both plaques at same time. No other chips cracks or repairs. Colors are a bit brighter in photos than they are on actual plaque. Although unmarked. The plaque is definitely of German origin and most likely Volstedt. A complete set of 4 sold at auction at Christie's in 1998 for more than $4500 usd. The last photos is shown for reference only and shows the four plaques from Christie's. Lovely Victorian era. Hand-painted Bisque Porcelain Bust. Excellent condition. Bust stands 13 inches tall and is 8.5 inches wide at the shoulders. The base is 4 inches square. The sculpture depicts a young lady with blonde braids. Her eyes are blue. Her lips are a coral color and her cheeks are rosy pink. She is dressed in a white blouse detailed with tiny white raised beads. Her pink jumper has a yellow swirl patterned collar, a blue band of trim and a violet bow. The base of the bust is blue and white with gold trim, and is detailed with a gold cross and violet leaf design. The underside of the base is marked with a blue square containing an oval shape. Rare Antique Victorian German Bisque Naughty Lady Man Fairing Figurine Figure
For auction is a rare to find German bisque figural fairing group of two women and a gentleman hiding under the ones hoop skirt! I have not seen this piece before and believe it to be quite rare. It was from the same collector as a very rare fairing I just listed as well. Dates mid to late 1800s and appears to be in very good condition with some light wear and the lady in blue I believe had an umbrella at one time as there is a hole in her one hand. The ends of the ribbons on her bonnet have broken on the ends and there metal under the skirt has wear. These are minor in my opinion considering the age and rarity of this piece. For your consideration is this Wonderful Pair Of German Boy and Girl Bisque Figures. They are unmarked. This pair measures just under 18 inches tall, they are each holding books, the girl has one in her hand and has dropped two others, the boy is reading his book. The colors are lovely pail pinks and blues, much detail in their faces. The girl does have some discoloration on her arm, see picture, there is no broken areas on either of the figures. I have for your consideration this Bisque/porcelain german girl figurine in one hand holding a fan and the other holding a handkerchief. she has beautiful soft colors of yellow. Purple, pink and blue to name a few. she stands 10-5/8 inches tall and need a gentle cleaning of light dirt/dust that has settled on her throughout the years. she was acquired from a old German home in Buffalo with other antiques I have listed. the underside inner base has a slight separation in the mold as I would assume done in the manufacturing process and is hardly unnoticeable as shown in picture. there is a initial RBF with the date 1845 on the underside. this is a very old piece and in very good condition and well kept through out the years any questions please feel free to email me. Antique Victorian era mantel shelf spill vase and match holder of bisque porcelain. 11 1/2" tall. 5" across the base and 3" deep at the base. The back is impressed"9986 GERMANY" It is also marked with the DEP mark and a manufacturer's mark that looks like an overlay of G and I or H. This is one of those whimsical pieces that appealed to the Victorian taste- a young boy with a gathering basket looks down to the base of a ladder at an excited little dog. Except for a few accents of metallic gold, the only painted portion is the boy and his basket, the ladder and dog are unpainted matte white. There is a narrow opening on the back of the ladder that could hold spills and the basket would be an ideal place for matches- they would look like gathered wood ... moreand could probably be struck against the textured exterior of the basket. At some point in time, the basket was broken off of the piece and has been glued back in place. From the front side, it looks in perfect condition and is only noticeable if you know where to look. From the back, you will notice the broken line of separation on the boy's back and at the top corner of the basket. Here's a very nice antique bisque pug dog figurine with cold painted face. Eyes and tail and gilt ribbon and tassels. There is also a faint tan wash over the back of the dog's body. The figurine measures about 6 inches tall and 4 inches long by 2¾ inches wide at the base. This piece is in nice condition with the exception of a shallow chip at the inside edge of the dog's right ear which is visible mainly from underneath. Otherwise. She is very large over 10" high and in fine condition with NO chips. NO cracks and NO repairs. There are some scuffs from age being over 100 years old to be expected and the usual tiny firing flaws done in the manufacturing. There is no marking on the bottom. I dusted her off, but she could use a little more careful cleaning. She has wind blown blonde hair. Perfectly painted intaglio blue eyes and pink lips on her smiling open/closed with molded teeth. Perky ... moreupturned nose, dimples in her blushed cheeks and chin and delicately painted brows. The modeling on these babies is amazing with life like creases in the palms. Pudgy arms and chubby legs and knees. Her pale yellow dress has a low neckline with pale lavender ruffles around the shoulders with big blue bows on each side. Lavender ruffles on sleeves and hem as well and tiny raised gold dots overall on the dress. Her hands are beautifully articulated with raised fore and little fingers. She is holding a bunch of cherries in her right hand. These wonderful figurines were once set on pianos during the Victorian era in the 1800s for decoration and perhaps for the ladies to hang their silk scarves or hankies on while they played and entertained their guests. These babies are treasured by collectors and especially desired in this very large size in such wonderful condition. I know you won't be disappointed. I will be adding more figurines so please check back. This is a lovely hand painted bisque porcelain figurine of a pretty Victorian girl holding her doll. The young lady had wavy blonde hair and blue eyes. She is very well formed right down to the dimples in her elbows. She is wearing a pink dress and pink shoes. Her doll is wearing a very long light blue gown. and a tan cap. This is a beautiful display. The only damage is a piece of the base had been broken and there is a sliver missing on the side, please enlarge all photos for details. There are also a couple of chips to base but not very noticeable. She is heavy for her size and measures almost 11" high. The only marking is a hand painted mark that may be 55.
