PAIR OF STAFFORDSHIRE SPANIEL DOGS RUST AND WHITE COLOR
At auction is a pair of Staffordshire dogs. They have condition problems. So an animal rescue buyer would be appreciated. They measure 3 3/4" high, 2 1/2" wide and 1 5/8" thick. The left dog in the picture has small chips on both ears. There is a crack on the left ear with an attempted repair. There is a chip at the bottom near the rear haunches. The right dog in the picture has paint missing from his nose. He has crack lines on the front, between his legs when seen from a side view and a crack on the back at the bottom. Please examine the pictures carefully, as my eyes may have missed something. I have described this item to the best of my ability and knowledge. They come from a clean. Smoke free home. This spaniel dog is one of the rarest canine figures produced by the Staffordshire potteries. The measurements: 6.25" tall for the top of the head. 4.5" long. ~3" deep. No defects of any kind, no restoration. Notable c razing is detected. No marks on the base which is normal for this figurines. 19th Century Antique Matching Numbered Pair Staffordshire Porcelain Spaniel Dogs
Here is a perfectly wonderful old numbered and trade marked matching pair of Staffordshire Spaniels that date back to the late 1800's. The British royalty loved their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and they became a revered subject for the porcelain pottery makers of 19th Century England. The pair came down with my Great-Grandparents to Bartow. Florida in 1910 and have been in the family since. I only say this because it probably makes them a"one owner" provenance. The mark on the base is that of"Old Staffordshire Ware England" And both pieces are numbered but only one still legibly. They appear to be numbered 43 and 17 and of course, the numbers are under the original glaze. In 1892 Parliament decreed that English pottery must say"England" on the bottom. Twenty years later the mark had to read"Made ... morein England" The Spaniels stand 5 1/2" high and the base is four inches long by 2 3/4" at the widest part. The pair is in absolutely perfect condition. With no cracking, chipping or crazing whatsoever. I photographed them in sunlight and with flash to try and bring out the lovely rose gold paint under the glaze. The locket and collar are probably 24 carat solid gold paint. I will want to send these insured for at least the value of the winning bid. If you would like. I can insure them for the appraised value of five hundred U.S.D. I will not take the chance of sending them overseas.

Rare Pr 19th C Antique Spaniel Dog Figurines Bennington/Rockingham/Staffordshire
This is a pair of very old spaniel dog figurines which have been in my personal collection for many years(smoke and pet free home) They stand 11 inches tall with 5" by 8" long bases and each weighs well over 5 pounds. Both have a manufactures firing hole in the bottom and under one of the legs. Very nice looking pair of dogs. I am not sure if the glaze is called Bennington or Rockingham. They are very similar to the popular English"Staffordshire" mantle dog pairs. Please look closely at the pictures. As they accurately depict the condition and are part of the description. Up for your consideration is this antique very stately looking Old Looking Dog Breed. Maybe some type of Spaniel or Poodle, I just don't know. I would say that he is of the Staffordshire style looking. He is marked Germany and number 4. Measures 5 1/2" tall x 5" long x 2 1/4" deep. Has wonderful wavy locks for his coat, a sweet blue bow and the gold locked on his collar. He is in excellent condition. A little surface dust, I've left as found. No paint loss, no chips or hairlines or cracks or repairs noticed. Shows very light wear and has been well taken care of. Sits fairly flat just a little wobble. Weighs on his own 7.1 oz. Antique Staffordshire Pottery Dog Figures Poodle & Spaniel 4 Pieces
Here are four Old Staffordshire Dogs. The largest is a thick pottery Spaniel with painted black spots 4" tall and 4" across there is darker age crazing and what looks to be a flaw from the maker on the front upper leg in the black spot is a chip that is under the paint and glaze. Next is a bisque poodle on a pillow with a gold painted basket in their mouth 3" x 2-1/2" the hair in spots is the original texture like on a Snow Baby with a few numbers on the lower back of the pillow. An Old Staffordshire Ware Poodle with painted eyes and a mark on the bottom with thick textured pottery bits as hair 3" x 2" Last an old slip glaze pottery pup, looks to be an early version of a Spaniel, the collar has a bow tied in the back, it has a look of Wade pottery, a little over 2" x almost 2-1/2" there is an old drying ... morecrack in the pottery on the bottom of the back front leg. Antique Pair of Victorian Staffordshire Pottery Spaniel Wally Dogs
On offer are a delightful matched pair of Victorian era Staffordshire Pottery Spaniel'Wally Dogs' Popular in the late 19th and early 20th century as fireside figures. Matching figures are generally in good condition for their age. One shows slightly more deterioration with a faded muzzle. And three small glazing chips as shown in the photos on the nose, and ear. Minor crazing as is typical with Staffordshire and the gilt highlighting which would have been added as a detail to the classic chain and lock on each dog has largely disappeared(although still visible here and there) Both are still full of character. Underlying the fact that for good reason, these lovable canines are as popular today as they were 100+ years ago. No evidence of any restoration whatsoever. PR. OLD STAFFORDSHIRE VICTORIAN SPANIEL FIGURINES-HAND PAINTED-APPROX. 5 1/2"
This auction is for a pair of unmarked Staffordshire spaniel dogs. They are about 5 1/2" tall and are hand painted. I assume one is to be male and the other female but am not sure. One has quite a bit more gray in the coat than the other one. They each have a painted gold collar but no chain decoration. The painting on each is similar but not identical. The bottoms have some crazing and each has a tiny hole in the bottom. These were purchased from a recent estate sale and the owner said they were in her Grandmother's home when she was a little girl.
