This is a beautiful rare large Staffordshire pottery figure captioned Paul& Virginia c1860. It is a rare to find figure and a large piece at 12 inches high. Very heavy weighted. Overall excellent coloring and displays very well, only repair is to the lady's neck. Some paint wear as is to be expected and firing flaws on the base, occurred in the making. It depicts a barefooted young man in shorts carrying a jug on his right shoulder standing next to a water well on a rocky base with accents of gilt.
