This piece is stunning and is in near mint condition with a model number 40 on the base but no other markings. I am not for sure if it is a Staffordshire, but one thing for sure it is of that high quality. I mention that it is made of ceramic but it has a high gloss finish like porcelain and very heavy weighing four pounds. It stands 12.5” high, 8.5” deep, 5” wide and the ball itself is 4” high. It has beautiful etched carved eyes and a under glaze brown painted surface. It is in near mint condition without chips, no cracks but one small craze in the surface of the ball which is nearly impossible to see, so please notice the photos. NO RESERVE BID- Here is a really charming old diminutive opposing pair of Staffordshire Dalmatian Dog Figurines. There are almost identical except that one figurine is very slightly taller than the other. One stands approximately 5 1/2" and the other 5 5/8" They have red collars gold. Padlocks and gold chains. Thery appear to be all in great shape but do have"age" crazing under the glaze. I m absolutely no authority and all I can say for certain is that they did come from an old estate. He and wife traveled the world adding to their art collections. Wonderful condition-no chips or cracks. There is age crackling of the paint. I purchased the hardback book of Staffordshire Animals that documents this 4-1/2 inch pair of poodles. DESCRIPTION: NO RESERVE for a pair of small-size pair of Antique 19th century English Staffordshire Begging Spaniel Dog Figurines. Measure about 4" tall each. Please note. A true pair and the dog's positions reverse such that they are facing each other when the figurines are placed side-by-side(pic#1) Appear hand-modelled and not from molds and please note how one of the dogs is a little shorter and fatter than the other as can be seen especially in pic#4. Probably early- to mid- 19th century Staffordshire. These are marked with a red anchor on the underside as shown. The red anchor mark is most closely associated with Chelsea, but a lot of the early Staffordshire makers used spurious Chelsea marks and these are probably ca. 1820- 1860 Staffordshire. Here's a very nice antique bisque pug dog figurine with cold painted face. Eyes and tail and gilt ribbon and tassels. There is also a faint tan wash over the back of the dog's body. The figurine measures about 6 inches tall and 4 inches long by 2¾ inches wide at the base. This piece is in nice condition with the exception of a shallow chip at the inside edge of the dog's right ear which is visible mainly from underneath. Otherwise. There are no chips, nicks, cracks or other damage. There some numbers and what may be a blue inkstamp mark of some kind on the bottom. Please see picture. LARGE EARLY STAFFORDSHIRE PORCELAIN GREYHOUND WHIPPET DOG FIGURINE W/ HARE
This is a great large Stafford-shire figure of a dog with hare measuring 11 inches wide. 6 inches deep and 6.5 inches tall. It dates to the late 1800's. As with most pieces of this age, there is considerable crazing which is clearly visible. It has been repaired as you see in the last two pics. Looking closely at the last pic, you can see the line crossing the dog's leg. It was poorly repaired when I acquired it. All of the old glue was removed and it was properly repaired( this will never break in this spot again! I think the repair is so good, it doesn't need to be relegated as a shelf piece!
