Exquisite antique German porcelain sweetmeat basket has a handle in the shape of a cherub blowing a horn. The free form basket is decorated on the front with a single rose and leaves. The mold is very well detailed and the hand painting exceptional. The basket has a high gloss glaze and the cherub is matte. It stands 5.25" tall and 6.75" long and is in very good condition with the only issue being a some roughness on the rose. Marked GeScheibe-Alsbach Thuringia Germany and Depose. The tableau depicts Othello. Desdemona and her father, Brabantio on a loggia backed with an architectural balustrade. Othello stands to one side, facing Desdemona& her father who are seated at the other side. Incredible details abound throughout the scene, from the renaissance style clothing to the lute next to Desdemona and the stool behind Othello. Othello's right hand is a separate piece. It is marked on the bottom with the blue Scheibe crossed S. I have left the sticker that was on the bottom of it when it came out of estate. But I do not think this piece is that old. There is also an impressed history for Kellermann on the bottom. the number 12753. The figurine is in good condition; no cracks. Antique Scheibe-Alsbach A. Kister Porcelain Cherub vases mark from late 1880s
These beautiful German statuettes were made in Scheibe-Alsbach in the A. Kister period. They are from the late 1800's. They are truly beautiful and you will not tire of looking at them. They are cherubs with vases on a pedestal. I do not know if they were originally meant to be vases or planters but either use would be a beautiful display. One of the figures is holding a bunch of grapes and the other a wine glass. This is Art Nouveau at it's best. The form of the plump cherubs and the grapes and leaves. And even the shape of the vases themselves are natural and from the Nouveau period. The bottoms are stamped KPM and feature the X beneath these letters. This mark was used for a short period beginning in 1887.There are the numbers 1301 and 9 indented on the bottom as well, perhaps where they were to inventory them at one point or to ... moreidentify them in some fashion at the point of manufacture. This set is 108 to 126 years old and in mint condition. The cherubs are 10 1/4" H. 6 3/4" W, and on a 4" base excluding legs. This set will be shipped FedEx insured at the purchase price or more. This item is in excellent shape except for the unfortunate shipping damage to the seat rail. I did not repair this so that the buyer could chose to epoxy the pieces themselves or have it professionally repaired. I was able to save the pieces to the rail except one. See all photos. It is 15" long by 13" high and almost 8" wide at the widest part. Marked with the Kister Scheibe Alsbach hallmark and numbered 9642 in the mold. Also marked Germany on the bottom.

Huge GERMAN Kister NATIVE AMERICAN INDIAN Scheibe Alsbach Porcelain Figurine Offered for sale is this very large antique or vintage German porcelain figurine of a Native American Indian on horseback. This seems to be an extremely rare subject matter for German porcelain figurines and this is the larger size of this model. This piece has markings for the Scheibe Alsbach/Kister factory in Germany. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The figurine measures approximately 20.5 inches high by 18 inches long. It weighs just under 16 pounds. CONDITION: The overall condition is excellent for such a large and delicate piece. There is a small flake to one feather on his head. A chip to the back of his cloak and the Indian's leg that faces the back of the figurine has been repaired near the calf.
