Tang Dynasty, 8th or 9th Century A.D. Possibly a Ming Dynasty or 18th or 19th Century Qing Dynasty Revival Imitative. SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height: 145 millimeters(5 3/4 inches) Breadth: 79 millimeters(3 1/8 inches) Thickness: 80 millimeters(3 1/4 inches) CONDITION: Very good. No repairs but the majority of glaze is gone. A little wear and a few blemishes consistent with any decorative item which was buried for over one thousand years. A very thick alkaline soil deposition layer. Not flawless, but certainly in a better than average state of preservation– and unrepaired! Stands on its own. DETAIL: A nicely preserved clay statuette so wonderfully characteristic of Tang Dynasty statuary. Sancai. Or three-color glazes principally in yellow, green and brown was a development of the Tang Dynasty(618-907 AD) Sancai(three-colored" wares were first made for burial, using lead-based glazes that produced mottled and streaky effects in green, amber-brown, and cream, with an occasional addition of blue or black. The production of such exquisite porcelain items required multiple firings of fine white clay at temperatures near 1000c(1800f) degrees. A wide variety of statuettes were commonly produced such as musicians, chamberlains(butlers) maids, cooks, even animals; all designed to serve their deceased master. In early Tang dynasty. Production of sancai pottery figurines dominated the pottery scene, and their production continued well into the Ming era which advanced the art with more intense colors and finer porcelain clay. Military KPM W.F.KISTER German Porcelain Figurine DUMOURIEZ French General
Up for your consideration is this beautiful. Outstanding, antique German porcelain figurine of French, Napoleon's general. Charles du Perier, known as Dumouriez(1739- 1823) a French general. He won the battles of Valmy and Jemappes and conquered Belgium. The figurine is 10 1/4" or 26 cm tall and stands on a base that is 2 1/2" by 3" or 6.5 by 7.7 cm. The coloring is very vibrant and the detail is wonderful. There is a blue mark on the underside, an"S" dissected with crossed swords, denoting the AW Fr. and impressed 12753. Kister porcelain factory of Scheibe-Alsbach, Thuringia, Germany. Also on the underside is a brief biography in French. Mint condition. Before buying. Please email us with any questions. VTG GERMAN BISQUE PORCELAIN FIGURINE STATUES EUROPEAN ADMIRAL BOY GIRL MILITARY
You are bidding on: A GORGEOUS ANTIQUE PAIR OF TALL BISQUE PORCELAIN HAND-PAINTED STATUES FEATURING A YOUNG COUPLE IN ROYAL DRESS AND BICORNE HATS. Here's a BEAUTIFUL find from an estate purchase- I acquired these several years back. And am only just now finding it time to part with them. This pair is just. Well. stunning. No other word for it. They stand about 13.5 inches tall, big enough to make a great display statement, and the colors and paint are dreamtastic! Young man is holding a small french horn in one hand and a letter in the other; young lady appears to be reading a letter just received. Both are wonderfully outfitted in period regalia. With pastel mauves and blues and gilt/gold trim, both wearing the very fashionable bicorner European hats often seen in military parades. There are no date or manufacture stamps on these figures, ... morebut experience and research tell me they are European in origin, probably German, and most likely date to the mid to early 20th century. Both have some faint pencil marks in the recessed areas of the bottoms, looks like initials and perhaps a date but too hard to read and I have no idea if that would be the mark of the original artist or a previous owner. Please know that I am extremely tough in grading my pottery. Porcelain and glassware: I've been collecting. Selling and trading antique items for over 30 years, so I know that the only perfect piece is one that just left the factory. And even then it probably has some original-manufacture flaws. I tend to call out flaws that other sellers might not notice or conveniently overlook, so when I tell you it's right, it's right. I want everybody happy. That being said. Here's what I'd note to condition: Both figures could use some light cleaning from experienced hands. They show some age in the recesses, and there are a few little"age spots" present, notably on the female's right arm area; if you are experienced with fine antique bisque you will know what I'm referring to. Rare Antique Dresden Volkstedt Porcelain Military Lady German Figure Figurine
This is a stunning large handpainted figural grouping created by the oldest Volkstedt factory of Germany! It is a gorgeous piece with wonderful details. The lady is making rose garland and the gentleman is holding up a wreath in one hand and a scroll in the other. Measures approximately 10 1/2 inches high by 8 inches wide and displays excellent with minor damages. Some of the leaves and roses are chipped, one is missing on the back of her garland and the scroll in the gentleman's hand has a tiny chip. Also a bit of black paint wear to his pants, all very minor on display. Gorgeous for the collector! Marked with under glaze blue crossed swords on the back as shown but please note: I forgot to take a picture of this piece's specific mark so I have used the picture from the Austerlitz figure for the mark. This one looks to be in near perfect condition with the exception being what I suspect is a missing separately fired red plume to the hat similar to the one on the figure titled Valmy. VERY RARE Antique German Porcelain Fairing Figurine Figure French Military Group
This is what I believe to be an extremely rare miniature hand painted porcelain Victorian fairing from the mid to late 1800s. I have looked in my fairing collector's books and cannot find this model. It is extremely well detailed for a fairing and depicts a soldier sitting across the table from a couple with a dog at his feet. There appears to only be some wear to the gold gilt. No breaks or repairs. It is European and the caption as well. I believe the last word is"Attack" however I cannot make out the first word, if someone knows, please let me know. It is very small scale measuring just under 2 1/2 inches high by 2 5/8 inches wide by 2 3/8 inches deep. I am placing it on a buy it now best offer option because I am unsure of it's worth since I cannot find it in any of the books. Pair of Guido Cacciapuoti Italian Porcelain Napoleon Military Figurines
Description This is a nearly impossible to find pair of highly collectible porcelain Napoleon military figurines by Italian artist Guido Cacciapuoti. Guido Cacciapuoti was an Italian visual artist who was born in 1892 and died in 1953. Which means that these pieces were likely created in the early 1900's. The detailing on both soldiers is exquisite. Condition: Excellent condition. No cracks, chips or scrapes on either figurine. Measurements: 13" x 4" 3 lbs- Each item I sell is personally inspected.
