The heavy porcelain figurine of a cupid or putto is surrounded by and holding flowers with a quiver full of arrows. The fine hand-painted porcelain figurine has a raised oval plaque on the front with the French words“Je les Ramene” written in script. The figure is signed on the underside with the blue under-glaze crossed swords Meissen mark. The number 11 in red glaze and an impressed“F12” and“48” The Meissen figure has tiny chips to a few of the flowers and an approximate ½” crack on the pedestal that is holding flowers. Rare smaller Meissen Porcelain Figure.M 104 91"Love Bound" A LOVELY MEISSEN CUPID PUTTO TIED UP. This"Love Bound" German figurine depicting the god Cupid dates from the 19TH CENTURY. Cupid is the god of desire. Erotic love, attraction, and affection. As you can see by viewing the pictures. Our poor little putto sits on a on circular grassy pedestal. The perimeter of Cupid's pedestal is painted in beautiful hues of blues and pinks and accented with gold draping and a sea shell design. This little angel and mighty cherub is sans clothing with only a pink/mauve cloth covering him. His hands and small purple and white angel's wings are tied behind his back. His facial expression show discomfort at being put into such a helpless position. His hair is wavy and detailed. They don't make porcelain figures and figurines ... morelike this any more! Very good condition- no cracks. One of the cherub's hand shows signs of previous repair. The top of one of his feet is chipped as is common for these 19th century Meissen antiques. Top German Porcelain from 1760's, A Large Meissen Ludwigsburg Figurine
Extraordinary. Meissen Ludwigsburg Large Figurine. Approximately 14" tall, 15" long, 9" wide. Heavy, solid hard paste porcelain. This piece was at the Antiques Roadshow when it was in Jacksonville fl, June 8, 2013. I own many Ludwigsburgs, Frankenthal, Meissen, KPM, Hochst, Volkstedt, Sitzendorf and other top makers of 18th, 19th century porcelain figurines. This is the best quality, detail, condition, I have ever seen on a piece near this old. Real Ludwigsburg pieces of this size and quality are rare since the factory opened in 1750's and closed 1821. The Ludwigsburg factory is considered the best mid 1700's producer of fine porcelain figurines. Pictures do not do this justice. It dates to about 1760. I have had it for years as my living room center piece. A beautiful scene, two Dryad's or Wood Nymphs, a statue ... moreof a slave nymph girl, beautiful hand painted scene on front of an urn, which is on a pedestal, flowers, rocks, bird and more. I did my research and apparently. Dealers are confused too! I've seen it listed under three different manufacturers. Ebay won't allow me to list the three different possibilities, but I do strongly believe it to be Meissen because of the blue crossed swords. Please look closely at the photographs and decide for yourself. I certainly welcome expert opinions too! No matter the manufacturer, everyone titles it"The Five Senses" So that aside, this porcelain figurine is in great shape for it's age. There are five putti figures, each one symbolizing one of the five senses. The top is a putti is holding a glass of wine(taste) Below are four more puttis; ... moreone is holding a bee or wasp(touch) one is holding a mirror(sight) one is holding a conch shell(sound) and one is holding a rose(smell) Definitely made by a top notch manufacturer. One tell is that each finger and toe is individually sculpted and painted. Detail only reserved for the high end market. Surprisingly, all fingers and toes are intact, no breaks, chips or repairs. The only flaw I can find is on the very top of the putti holding the wine goblet is a small chip off a leaf. It's not terribly noticeable and I've taken a photo of it(see image#8) It measured 10 1/4 inches high by 6 to 8 inches wide(6 inches for the base but some of the putti's arms or legs stick out) On the underside you can see the blue crossed swords. Here for your consideration is a gorgeous Antique Meissen Male Figurine made in the 19th century. He measures 7 1/2" tall and weighs 1.5 pounds. Excellent near mint perfect condition with only few tiny flea bite sized chips. One on the tip of a flower petal and one on a leaf tip, both in the bouquet he is holding and two tiny flake chips on the bottom edge of the base in the gold trim area. I find no other signs of damage and no signs of any repairs. The bottom is clearly marked with the Meissen blue crossed swords, impressed numeral 44, inscribed C.69. and the number 12 in reddish brown color. 19c Meissen Porcelain Figurine Charming Young Boy Flower Basket 5 1/2" Tall
He measures 5 1/2" tall and weighs 7.54 ounces. The piece has had some very fine professional restoration on the staff and basket handle(see close up photos) After very careful examination with good magnifying glass and enlarged photos. The restoration appears to be on the wooden staff and basket handle hanging from the staff and possible the hand holding the staff as there is some glue showing between the fingers. Bottom is clearly marked with the Meissen blue crossed swords, impressed numeral 132, inscribed number 4 and the number 34 in brown color. Rare 19thC Meissen Porcelain Miniature Parrot Figurine Porzellan Papagei Figur
For sale is a miniature parrot made by Meissen in the 19th century. The bird is very well modelled with it sitting on a tree stump that has a branch coming out of one side. The parrot is handpainted with lots of colors and really quite nice looking. It is in perfect condition. The piece is marked with the blue swords underneath as well as the usual incised and imrpessed numbers of the period. Also a painter's mark. The bird is 2.125 inches tall. 1.5 inches long and 1.25 inches wide. Early Antique Meissen Figure Superb! Early 18th or early 19th century Meissen figure of Mercury with cherub and rooster! Incredible detail. With beautiful features! Hand painted in beautiful soft colors with gilt accents. The condition is very good, a few minor flaws to mention. The tip of his staff is chipped off, tip of one finger off cherub, and small flaw to tip of roosters tail. No other damage, and display is excellent! The measurement is 8 1/2" tall by 7" across! The piece is unmarked, which you sometimes find with the very early pieces, it could have rubbed off or the manufacturer just forgot to put the stamp. I the same figure I found on worth point, and it was also unmarked, with exception of incised h mark, also on the bottom of this figure. Really a wonderful find and exceptional display! Well marked as shown with the crossed swords mark and there is also some impressed lettering that I couldn't decipher[very difficult to photograph with my camera. Lovely Vintage Meissen FLUTE PLAYER Fine Porcelain Figurine Extremely intricate details of lace-like cuffs and robe trim. Hand painted color details and gold trim accents He is in a seated position and holding a flute. He is done in soft shades of pastel green. Peach, and rose. There are hand painted flowers on his pants. Marked on the bottom with two crossed swords. Size Approx. 4"Tall x 3.5" Wide Very Good Condition Glaze is beautiful and richly colored. No crazing or cracks. He has no chips, nicks, or repairs EXCEPT for one extremely minor flaw-one half of one of the tiny loops of'lace' on the edge of his robe is missing. This is extremely difficult to see or notice and is not a glaringly obvious chip as it is just the surface loop and not the porcelain beneath it. This is a rare early hand painted porcelain figural grouping of two lovers in a garden with a cherub flying over them. A bust in the background and a dog and two lambs. It bears a very faint blue crossed swords mark on the base. I believe this is an early Meissen piece, please take a look at the pictures. Measures 9 3/4 inches high by 7 inches wide and is heavy weighted. Condition is overall good. There is some damage and restoration. The cherubs one arm has been reattached at the shoulder and he has a repaired bell the little stick to hit in in his other hand is broken. The lady has a broken thumb and end of finger tips, the little dog has only the very end of his one paw chipped. Antique German Porcelain Dresden SITZENDORF Carriage Figurine Figure Meissen
This is a magnificent large porcelain carriage created by the Sitzendorf factory of Germany! It is a stunning piece at 20 inches in length by 11 inches in height and very heavy weighted! Overall condition is excellent/very good considering the size and age of the piece. The crown on the front base has broken off and the reins need to be retied to the driver. Should be very easy as they are flexible. One piece of the pink feather in front of one horse's plume and a few tiny nibbles to the leaves on the base. All very minor in my opinion on display. Vintage German Dresden Seated Couple Playing Music Porcelain figurine Meissen
Beautiful set of Dresden figurines made in Germany I believe by Meissen. A man and lady seated. He plays the flute while she holds the music book. The man seems to be in perfect condition the woman has a broken right thumb and fingers and ruffles on her dress. These are fairly rare.I myself have seen them only once on Ebay in a live auction. I have had them for over twenty years. They would be perfect for a music room. Any Victorian setting or that special person in your life collecting Meissen porcelain figurines. Approximately 6" high and 3 1/2" wide. I have drastically reduced the price on these to sell! At the price it's like buying the male figurine and getting the lady figurine free. Since she does have damage! But she does still show nicely.
