Being offered is an Superb Pair of Antique 18th C. Ludwigsburg Miniature Porcelain Figurines. The factory was established in 1758 and closed in 1824. These particular double C marks see in pictures(8,12) were used until 1806, I believe the mark in red is extremely rare. The man is taming a wild boar and the lady is holding a bird in one hand. Each of these pieces have issues: there is a chip underneath the brim of the lady's hat(see picture 7) the man's head has been repaired and there is a small chip on two flower pedals(see pictures 10,11) The figurines deliver bright vibrant colors throughout and other than issues noted are in good condition. RARE 18th Century Ludwigsburg German porcelain figure
This figure is shown in 18th century court dress. She is four inches high and width is six inches. Purchased in England by me at an antique fair in England. When purchased there were two flaws which are shown in the photos, left arm is missing from the elbow down, and on the back of the dress at the hem is a small chip. Figure is particularly unusual in that it has petticoats, legs and shoes under the main dress. The makers mark shown was used between 1764 and 1793.

This German porcelain figural group of an elegant lady and gentleman was made most probably by the porcelain factory in the city of Ludwigsburg Germany in the late 18th century. There is an old paper hand written label on the bottom of the piece that says in part Portrait group of the beautiful countess Koesell(Cosel? and Augustus…1… of Saxony… Dresden works"The Promenade Group" The figurine group is stamped with what appears to be a Ludwigsburg mark of the late 1700s Dimensions: The group measures as follows: 9" across. 5& 1/8" deep and 6& 5/8" tall Condition: the man's right hand has been restored. Harlequin figurine, fine porcelain, Ludwigsburg, Commedia dell'Arte, ca150 years
Porcelain statuette of Harlequin. The country bumpkin character from the Commedia dell'Arte(Italian Comedy) pulling the tail of a dog. On some statuettes, he is using the dog as a sort of musical instrument and pulling his tail to get yelps during his song. That might be the case here, but it's not that clear. Hand painted. Harlequin is wearing his characteristic shirt decorated with playing cards, which requires a certain amount of careful detail work on the part of the ceramic painter. The molding is extremely crisp with vivid carved details, and the dog's face is wonderful. Under the base(see photo) is the logo of the Ludwigsburg factory in Germany, stamped in blue underglaze. The piece was sold to me(by an expert! as 18th century, but I do believe it's 19th(certainly not later) especially since it's quite large- height- ... morejust under 8 inches, width- 4 inches, depth- 3 1/2 inches. The only damage I can spot is to the right paw, which is broken off.

Mid 1700's Meissen Ludwigsburg Figurines. These pieces are absolutly Outstanding. The beautifully hand painted and highly detail pieces where and still are the best in porcelain figurines. These pieces where at the Antiques Roadshow when it was in Jacksonville fl. June 8, 2013. They are Duke Ludwig and his Wife, Elisabeth of Badendurlach. They are dressed late 17th century style. He was first approached to start the porcelain factory, but did not. The next Duke did in 1758. This factory closed in the early 1800's, so pieces are limited. These are 9 1/2" tall and almost perfect. Two small Kiln melts, one on the back of the bottom of the cape and the other on the ruffle part of the pants by the swords handle. This is part of the making that sometimes happen back then with these pieces. Never consider significant. Everyone who own ... morethem as I have, protected these rare pieces. Germany ca the late 1700's. The figurine is 4 3/8" high and the base is 2 3/8" by 2 1/8" It may have a tiny bite on the top of a rose in the garland, but we can find no other losses, chips or cracks.
