Antique Vtg Bisque Figural Girl with Basket Toothpick Holder - late 19th Century
This listing features a delightful OLD bisque match holder. The paper you see in front of it is a note that was stuck inside that reads"match holder out of an old estate over 100 years old" I bought the match holder at an estate sale. Who was the author of the note(and she was old when she passed away, so, the piece is from the late 1800's) It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The basket has raised weave so it acts as a striker also. It stands 5 1/2" tall. On the bottom is an old piece of tape with some partial letters on it. As far as I know it is not marked as to maker. I tried to look this up to no avail, perhaps some of you will know the artist. Her little yellow bow is original and needs a cleaning but I know better than to try that myself. Looks to be made of porcelain or ceramic and looks to be hand painted but not sure. No chips or major scratches. Though seems to be slightly weathered from age, which I am unaware of. There are numbers on the bottom, but I am unable to make out exactly one or two of them. Seems to look like 133, 123 or 153? unless it's upside down. I am not familiar with this because it was handed down.

For sale is a figurine of a little girl wrapped in a blue shawl with a pink hood standing next to a basket. I think the basket is a matchstick holder. The piece measures 4.75" tall by 3" wide by 1.5" deep. There is a small chip on the inside of the back rim of the basket(see the last photo) There is a black mark on the bottom that looks like a 2.
