Antique Large German Bisque Porcelain Heubach Bros. Piano Baby Figurine Nice!
For your consideration is an Antique Piano Baby Figurine made by Gebruder Heubach. A Piano baby is a figurine used to hold the edges down on the large shawls that would cover the piano. Doll sits 8 1/4" tall. The company. Which translates as Heubach Brothers, was established in 1843 by Georg Christoph and Phillipp Jakob Heubach when they purchased an existing porcelain factory in Lichte, Germany. The company began to manufacture items such as household pottery. Figurines and novelties, and in 1863 opened a local art school for sculptors. This training led to the company becoming renowned for its high quality and lifelike figurines, including their range of which are highly sought after by modern collectors. The company registered its‘sunburst’ mark in 1882. And by 1910 h ad begun to produce bisque dolls. Along with bisque doll heads ... morefor other manufacturers across Europe and the United States. By 1938 the company was forced to close and file for bankruptcy. Condition; She has all her toes! There is a slight stress crack to one arm as pictured. It appears to be original to the piec e and does not go all the way around. I believe it was just shrinkage of the Bisque during the dry ing process. S he displays beautifully! There is gold gilding to the wire rimmed glasses as well as to the clothing. This is a large figurine at 11 inches tall and almost 4.5 inches wide. His facial features are exquisite. RARE* 16” ANTIQUE GERMAN BISQUE HEUBACH GIRL W/ FAN*GORGEOUS* This beautiful figurine was found at a recent local sale. She is an unmarked Heubach. I have an identical one that IS marked. Purchased long ago along with her mate and also a collection of about 50 Heubachs…she is guaranteed Heubach. As any Heubach collector can tell you, they are not all marked. This girl stands a massive 16” tall. She is holding a fan above her head. The fan is embellished with purple hand painted flowers. This girl has a very serene look on her face. See close-up pictures. She has intaglio blue eyes and coral colored blush and lips. There are ever so slight dimples on her cheeks. Her blonde hair is done in a top knot with a pink bow. Her dress is a pale greenish yellow with purple and gold embellishments of flowers and leaves and scrolls. There is one flaw ... morewhich is a shallow chip at the front right bottom edge. It has been painted in(paint matches well) and is not very visible. On the base. You might see slight smudges. This is where the painter held the item while decorating it. Mine also has it as does a few of my other larger Heubachs. It is slight, but want to mention it. If you are a Heubach collector, you know what I mean. Antique Carl Schneider German Porcelain Bisque Figural Girl Vase 1880's Heubach
This is an original matching pair of Victorian era. Hand-painted bisque porcelain busts of a girl and a cavalier boy that is circa 1880's- 90's. This pair of charming bisque figures are unmarked. Judging from the technique, colors, and quality of this small busts I would say that they could have easily have been made by the GEBRUDER HEUBACH factory in Germany, but you can be the judge of that yourself. These delicately modeled antique bisque figurines features a elegant Victorian girl in a beautiful bonnet and handsome young Cavalier. Both are done in a bright jewel like pastel colors. c. 1890 HUGE 15" German Bisque Figurines, Heubach? Intaglio Eyes, Victorian!
While unmarked. These large bisque figurines were made in Germany during the late 19th century, c. 1890. The intaglio eyes and facial painting look very much like Gebruder Heubach. They measure 15" tall and are very heavy! They are dressed in colonial-inspired clothing which is very typical of Victorian bisque figurines. With the exception of a few minor flaws, they are in excellent condition. The girl has one broken missing finger.the pointer finger on her left hand, over the fan, is missing. There is a factory line across the back of her hair, near the neck, which occurred during the firing and is NOT damage. Other than that, the girl is perfect. The boy has two tiny, shallow flakes on the bottom edge of the base, which is common for these figurines. Other than that, he is perfect.he has all of his fingers! German All-Bisque "Boy in Bunny Suit" Candy Container Gebruder Heubach LOOK
A little child is posed standing behind a bisque egg-shell designed for use as Easter candy container. And has a white bunny costume draped over his head and cascading down his back with a real rabbit fur tail. The boy has painted features, closed mouth with a smiling expression, while the bunny-face features solemn brown eyes, painted downcast lips and a grey nose tip. There is a painted number on bottom and I am pretty sure it is made by Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910. He is missing some of his digits but these are hard to find in any condition. He stands 5 inches high and is a great piece and as been in my collection for over 20 years.

It was one of many in my late mother's doll collection that she had for over 50 years and I know it was considered to be an antique when she bought it. She was a very knowledgeable and avid antique bisque doll collector. One of the legs was broken in the distant past and was repaired. Looks to be just a simple glue repair. Upon further inspection. Looks like some of the raised golden dots on the collar are gone too.most likely from handling through the years. I did not see this immediately and is not obvious. There are a couple of rough edges on the egg shell(A couple of small chips- which are hard to see because they blend in with the shell. The fair haired woman with blue eyes and red lips has a a creamy white colored shawl draped over her head and around her shoulders. It is strange as at first I thought they painted a line across it, and it took me a bit to realize it is a crack because it doesn't go around and she hasn't been repaired. Not even sure how it could do that? It doesn't detract from her delightful charm, and I am sure you could do a slight repair on it, but she has been that way as long as I've had her and I just noticed it. I purchased the set at an Antique Auction awhile back and have had them displayed, drawing quite a bit of attention. They do need to be lightly cleaned, or you may leave them as they are. I did not want to damage them in doing so, and they are 1900 c. There is a mark on the bottom of each. The female mark is difficult to see and the male has a better mark, but someone glued felt to the bottom? I tried to pull it back and take a picture. This is an adorable little boy piano baby figurine seated on a tall chair. He is wearing what looks like. A white sweater and light blue shorts and a peach hat. He is holding a piece of chalk in his hand and wearing wire glasses. The figurine is done in lovely soft pastel colors. Approximately 9 inches tall and 3 1/4 inches wide at widest point. Unmarked but judging from the quality he appears to be a Heubach creation. There is a minor chip to the inside of his hat that has been colored in and isn't noticable. Is she considered a piano baby? I only see a small marking under the base but I dont know if it is a Heubach marking or just an indentation in the bisque. There is also what looks like a 27. I know many of the earlier figurines werent marked. I think she may have been holding drumsticks in her hands but they are missing. She is a beautiful piece measuring approx. 6 3/4 inches tall. Wonderful life-like antique German bisque piano baby by Gebruder Huebach. C.1890. This sweet naked baby is realistically molded in a"toe sucking" position. It measures 6 1/2" X 5 1/2" X 4" It is marked on the bottom with the Heubach trademark. The stylized sunburst, faintly impressed in the bottom. Some other numbers are also faintly impressed with the number 55 hand painted on the bottom. As mentioned above in the Condition Statement. There is a chip.or sliver.on the top lip, above the baby's big toe. I have shown this in two close up pictures. Other than this chip, there is no damage. Thanks for your interest. 1900-1920 4 1/2"PIANO BABY German Porcelain Bisque Figurine Bonnet Girl Heubach?
Beautiful German Bisque PIANO BABY seated Bonnet Girl Figure- possibly by Heubach due to the high quality of the porcelain bisque and traditional intaglio eyes. Lily" measures 4 1/2" tall; 3 3/4" deep and 3" wide. The attention to detail on this piece is incredible. Look closely and you'll see the gold accented porcelain raised beading along the neckline. Sleeves and hemline of the little girl's dress. I've had her in my collection for at least 15 years. I call her"Lily" as she could have"held" a bouquet of flowers. There are three holes in the"lap" of her skirt and one through her right hand(see photos) She is in very excellent condition. Please see the close-up photo highlighting the bend of both her feet. There is a very minor factory flaw on the natural bend of her left foot(looking ... morelike a crease) This was caused when she was extracted from the mold. It doesn't devalue her at all. But the remainder is simply decorated with browned gold paint& bright gold on the'dots' on his knickers. I have provided pictures of the base that shows the mark, an entwined HG, which I'm sure is the Heubach mark. There are some'splits' in the bisque at the base, but these are factory flaws. Amazingly, he retains the remnants of an original label that reads HELLO SWEETHEART. This was likely a Valentine for someone special. The mold# is 8356. Please check the pictures. I am starting this at what I think is a fair price& have no reserve on it.

This is a lovely figurine of a German Girl holding the edge of her dress of her head. The bisque figure is 5 inches tall and 3 5/8 inches wide. The figure is marked with a Made in Germany blue mark. Though it is hard to read. We believe this was made by Heubach. We have seen a larger version of this that was marked. It dates circa 1900. There is a hairline by the feet and a glaze skip and also a hairline at the bottom on the back. There are no other chips, cracks or repairs. It does have some soiling. I'd be ashamed to tell you what I paid for this little baby. She came on eBay about 13 years ago. I didn't normally collect this type. And have never seen one since. I've normally collected German Heubach and Hertwig type piano babies. There was a bidding war for her, I was obsessed with her little kewpie googly eyed face, and was determined to be the victor. To clarify the title, she is not Heubach, I've added that so collectors can find her, as these rarely come online. The following is the info that the eBay dealer had about her when I purchased her: sold as trinkets at the London Heathrow train station, going to Oissel, France. Up for auction is this adorable bisque piano baby. It appears to be hand-painted. I see no chips or cracks. I tried to get close up pictures of her toes and fingers. The big toe on one foot looks a little odd. But think it is made that way. She also needs to be cleaned. Looks like dust in the crevices. Please see pictures for details. This is a gorgeous hard to find beautiful German bisque baby wearing a bathing cap created by the Heubach factory c1890. he is so sweet with his arms over his knees and beautiful rosy cheeks and lips! He is a nice size at approximately 7 inches high by 5 inches wide. The condition is excellent. I see no chips. Repairs, restorations. There is a small firing flaw on his one arm in the back that looks like a little dent or scrape in the porcelain which occurred in the making. He is marked on the bottom with painted numbers and I think impressed numbers as well. Presented here for your bidding discernment is this large antique German bisque piano baby doll. Made by the renowned Gebruder Heubach firm of Thuringia, Germany! Heubach figures and dolls have become very popular and, with their sensitive modeling and artful painting, it is easy to see why. It is because of their desirability that many other bisque figurines have come to be called and sold as"Heubachs, when indeed they are not. However, the seasoned collector will easily recognize the workmanship and style of this prestigious firm, even when pieces are not marked, which can often be the case. Though this example is unmarked save for a hand incised number 14 on the bottom. I recognized this piece as Heubach right away. I was able to identify the figure on page 116 of Lydia Richter and Karin Schmelcher's comprehensive book"Heubach ... moreCharacter Dolls& Figurines. The example shown in the book stands only 5 1/2" tall, and so doesn't have all the beautifully molded details that this large 9 1/2" model has. It is modeled in realistic fashion, with intaglio eyes, every curl pronounced, each toe defined, and really gorgeous, delicate painting. It is unfortunate that the pinky fingers on both hands are broken off and missing. I had thought to make the repair myself, but have instead enjoyed it displayed just how you see it. The following is the info that the eBay dealer had about her when I purchased her: sold as trinkets at the London Heathrow train station, going to Oissel, France. This is a wonderful rare pair of bisque figures created by the Gerbruder Heubach factory of Germany c1890-1910. They are at the sea. The boy has a fish and the girl is carrying her shoes as she stands at the oceans edge. They measure approximately 11 inches high and are both marked with the sunrise marking. The girl is in excellent condition. Just three tiny nibbles on the bottom edge of her base. The boy has had his head professionally restored at the neck. It was a good job and so it is hard to notice on display. A few small nibbles at the very rim of his base and I see a tiny bit of paint on his pinky finger. As you can see. ~ Antique Heubach Figurine ~ This darling antique German bisque piano baby features a baby boy laying on his back reaching for his toes. Realistically modeled with a beautiful baby face. This is a precious figure to display. As for condition, the figure has no chips, the right hand has a few fingers with touch up/repair, and there is a faint firing line or hairline under his neck going across the top of his chest, very minor and mentioning for accuracy; please examine close up photos.
