This is a beautiful old figurine of a woman in a lovely long dress with a fur cape. There are fur accents o n her hat and cuffs. There is a lot of gold trim on the fur and basket. There is crazing because of its age and two leaves have small chips as does the tip of her gold shoe which can probably be touched up if desired. The paper you see in front of it is a note that was stuck inside that reads"match holder out of an old estate over 100 years old" I bought the match holder at an estate sale. Who was the author of the note(and she was old when she passed away, so, the piece is from the late 1800's) It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The basket has raised weave so it acts as a striker also. It stands 5 1/2" tall. On the bottom is an old piece of tape with some partial letters on it. As far as I know it is not marked as to maker. Description Up for Auction I have this somewhat unusual little continental porcelain basket with a very Sitzendorf style girl leaning upon it. I would say its a trinket/Bon Bon dish. The piece is handpainted and has beautiful detail. The basket is in the form of a weaved. Broken one with flowers to the front and a handle to either side. The girl, to the right, strikes me as a very Art Nouveau figure and is designed in a very similar way to Sitzendorf but I cannot be sure of the maker, there is an impressed mark to the base but I cannot make it out at all. Beautiful and special little ceramic figurine. Hand made in some workshop or factory probably in the 1890s. Unusual pencil markings on the bottom. But very fine pottery work in the basket and etched in the face, shoulders, etc. It measures only 5 inches high. English, French, German, American? I have no idea but it is lovely!

Vintage Jaru Girl With Basket Jaru was the copyright for art ware and figurines by Ja ck and Ru th Hirsch from California in the 1950's to the 1990's. This signed piece is from 1974. This little cutie is wearing a knee length dress with apron and short jacket. A scarf around her head that's tied at the neck, ankle socks and little clogs. She carries a basket that has a thick layer of gold paint and holds a little rabbit. In her other hand she's carrying a small branch that appears to hold two pears(this is also coated with a thick layer of gold paint. She looks as though she's looking down at the bunny peaking out of the basket. Adorable! The plaster piece is creamy white with darker accents and has a shiny finish. This piece came from a very large collection of porcelain figurines I acquired from a UK estate. This one looks like a little German style girl with pigtails and holding flowers and a basket. At her feet sits a little gray shaggy dog. No makers mark other than FOREIGN. This was sold in the UK. The clue is the word'foreign' This was put on wares destined for the UK or USA(the main two English speaking markets) from other countries. However. From about the beginning of the 20th century, both countries required more details of origin than'foreign' They wanted the actual country, written in the Queens English(in the US, the act was called the 1890 McKinley Tariff Bill, and in the UK it was the 1897 British Merchandise Marks Act) That makes it very easy to at least date pieces that are unmarked OR have a country name marked. In ... morethis case it is only FOREIGN which helps! So it looks like this piece pre-dates the UK act of 1897 because it doesn't conform to the legislation. IF it was from say JAPAN in 50s. It may have had Far East 1950's sticky labels which have fallen off) But judging by the style and make I doubt it. However I am pricing it competitively since I don't know the age! The first case would mean the piece was more likely to be German/Austrian because Japan was still calling itself'Nippon' on it's markings then and would not say foreign necessarily. WELCOME to my ebay store! This is a beautiful and solid little figurine of bisque type porcelain. A little girl in hat. Dress and apron carries a very large basket on her bag which she holds by a rope handle around her neck. She stands on a base that is unmarked. I am guessing it is German made. And probably a spill vase. Some of the pieces from this estate collection I acquired are marked with numbers, or marked Foreign, or not marked at all, as this one. Bisque Biscuit Porcelain German Little girl in chair with flower basket marked
I can not find anything on this little girl Bisque Statue. She is really pretty sitting on her chair with her basket of flowers in her lap. There is a mark on the bottom with a fancy"F" and a"X" not sure if it is French or German. She would make a really sweet Mother's day gift. She measures 8 1/2" tall and 4" wide and weighs 2 pounds 8 oz. There is a small chip or air bubble from the mold on the corner( see photo) She has all her fingers and leaves in her basket. Hello. Thank you for viewing this charming Meissen figurine of a demure. Rosy-cheeked young girl seated on a pedestal and holding a basket of freshly picked pears. This figurine has been in my family for well over sixty years of which I am personally aware. It is in mint condition. There are no damages that I can see, including to fingers, toes, or tips of leaves or flowers. It has always been kept in a locket display cabinet from which it was very rarely removed. Her dress and neck scarf have evenly spaced sprays of multi-colored flowers, over which she wears a gold-laced orange weskit and a light blue or aqua apron tied at the back with a demure bow. This lovely figurine measures 5-1/8" to the top of her head and approximately 2-7/8" at the widest point. It is signed underglaze with the Meissen blue crossed swords and impressed ... morewith the numbers"15" and"29" or"62" I believe the mark places the age from about the 1930s, however, the figurine was purchased as an antique by a family member in1950 in Germany, so it may in fact be earlier. Please based on your knowledge and pics. I believe this is Sitzendorf. Figure stands approx. 5.75 inches tall. I will not try to clean this figure and it has a little sticky residue on the bottom. There is a spot on the thumb which appears to be glazed. It possibly could be manufacturing but I have no way of knowing and under 10x I could find no other faults other than average paint wear. With all that being said. Please understand this is not a mint out of the box item. It is old and probably shows average wear.
