This is a hand painted needlepoint, canvas only, unfinished, brilliant colors, huge, total size 52” X 35”. This has no holes or tears. It was folded for storage so there are fold lines. No threads. I had completed 2 others which have been framed and hung, but my arthritis has gotten to the point that I cannot any longer do needlepoint. They receive loads of compliments.

This piece is gorgeous and hand painted. Her fingers and gown are as well as the entire figurine are very detail. I can find no chips cracks or anything else. This piece came from a collectors' collection. She measures 8" tall by 5" Marked with makers marks under base. Rare and stunning lady!

Antique Vintage Ceramic Porcelain French Lady Man Head Bust Figurines 50's
An Estate find we have an adorable old set of ceramic/ porcelain Bust Figurines probably dating to around the 50's or so. They measure about 6 1/2" tall by about 4 1/2" at their widest. Gorgeous pink. White, green and gold coloring. In wonderful condition for their age. The man looks to be free of any damage, but has what looks to be a minute manufacturer flaw in the porcelain in the middle of his back. The lady has a couple of marks on her chin, can't really tell what it is, possibly ink marks and a small repair on the bow atop her head, all not too noticeable but wanted to mention. We can find no Makers Marks. Their attire looks to be French. We have not cleaned these and they could use a wee wipe down. Photos were taken with a flash for detail. French Bisque Singing Goddess With Lyre C. 1830 A Beautiful Antique French Museum Piece. Of the Highest Quality Workmanship. Her gilded lyre has metal strings; she glances heavenward as she sings. There is an amphora at her feet. Surpassingly lovely. This is the first time I've seen teeth. Top and bottom, painted on a bisque piece- beautifully done The gorgeous gilding and enamel beading is in excellent condition. One of the really wonderful things about this piece is the expertly constructed lyre with its metal strings; they actually pass through the porcelain neck of the lyre and are then secured with metal beads which are meant to simulate the tuning pins. How neat is that? I've added lots o f pictures so you can take a close look- the lyre really is a thing of beauty. You can almost hear the music playing. A small reminder of when Japan followed France! A dignified Lady and Gentleman sitting on a garden bench. Dressed in the fashion of the late 1700's. The figurine of a couple is crafted during a period of Japan's poorest craftsmanship for items for export. Marked"Japan" on the bottom, the item is in good condition for its age with no chips or cracks. A previous owner had"glued" the figure to"something" with residue of adhesive remaining. This is being sold as I found it. It's an interesting piece to use for comparison to fine French porcelain and to have a glimpse of Japanese workmanship at a low ebb. Japan's fame for the finest arts and crafts for centuries, reached this low point prior to WWII, when efforts were channeled elsewhere. This is a gorgeous large German porcelain figural grouping mounted as a lamp. It is hand painted and has beautiful details! Created by the A.E. Muller factory of Germany. This grouping depicts a royal couple playing instruments together. The gentleman has lost his flute and one thumb and there is some chipping to the flowers on the base and a little to the porcelain flowers on the ormolu stems, I see no other damage. A large size, entire lamp measures just shy of 2 feet high. Finial on top is missing. The actual figure is 10 1/4 inches tall by 9 1/4 inches wide. They depict two classical ladies decorating urns. These are large. Heavy figurines- they weigh 5 pounds each. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The slightly taller figure stands 13 inches(33cm) high. CONDITION: The overall condition is excellent for their age. There is wear to the gold as is typical of old Paris pieces. I found this mark in several of my books. It belonged to a Paris factory on Rue Fontaine-au-Roi from 1771-1841. This factory had several owners. Some well known to collectors of Paris Porcelain( Locré. Russinger, Pouyat. Clauss) Some not as well known; I'm not sure who owned the factory when this pair was made. A happy cocker spaniel dances around their feet. Beautifully modeled and painted by hand. Blue"JG" tab on base for Jean Gille. C 1840 10" tall. 9.5" wide* About the manufactory: Jean Gille founded his porcelain factory at Rue de Paradis-Poissonniere. Paris. France, i n 1836. His pieces are marked with the JG blue tab. His chief modeller was Charles Baury who later took over the factory. Later pieces are marked for Vion and Baury. Gille presented at many World Fairs and won several medals. Including Gold. His works were displayed ... morein the court of Napolean; Empress Eugenie favored them. Gille was considered the best porcelain decorator in all of Paris. The factory closed in 1889. What is Bisque? Bisque(biscuit) is a type of porcelain that is fired but unglazed. Allowing the modeler to design crisp, sharp details that really make a bisque piece stand out- since glaze can obscure tiny and precious details. Meant to imitate carved marble, bisque was first used in Europe in the 1700s, and was all the rage in the courts of France, especially during the French Empire. It was a valued medium of many upscale French manufactories, Jean Gille, Vion& Baury, Sevres, Limoges(Charles Haviland, Henri Ardant) bi sque? Condition Very good; professional restoration to dog's tail and to a small chip on corner of man's jacket. Also a small chip to bottom back of man's jacket. Some soiling. Some loss to paint, to gilding on his jacket, and to beading, as to be expected for a pair well over 150 years old; a few stable firing lines. Very indiscreet- you'd need to search to find them. Antique French VION BAURY Bisque Porcelain Victorian Lady Gown Figurine dresden
This is an early French bisque statue of a beautiful woman in the garden with a swallow. It was created by the Vion& Baury factory of France circa 1860-70. She is a large and heavy weighted piece at 21 inches to the top of her extended arm. The detailing is exquisite and she has a beautiful realistically painted face. She displays very well however has suffered a broken finger. The swallow was repaired and I think part of that finger on the hand holding the swallow. I also believe there were three birds at one time on her dress that are now missing. The tiara in her hair has some wear. Pair DRESDEN LACE Porcelain French Lady Figurines ~ Marie Antoinette ~ 4" X 4"
Thank you for looking at this listing. These two figurines(Marie Antoinette style? were part of a well-loved collection owned by my mother. They are both in great shape for something so very fragile. Both are marked Dresden with a blue crown above as you can see. We are not experts and are trying to identify and describe these figurines to the best of our ability. I have examined the one in the pink poofy dress with a magnifying glass and can't see any breakage. The other one with the white layered skirt has some breakage on her left side just under her elbow and a little hole a bit farther back. Neither spots just jump out like some breaks I've seen. This is a beautiful finely hand painted porcelain bisque French or Bohemian figure of a lovely young lady getting ready to dip her feet in the water. It is a heavy weighted large piece at almost 11 inches high by 7 1/4 inches in diameter at the base. The overall condition is excellent. I just see one very small flake chip to the back of one of the green pieces of ribbon coming off her hat. It dates mid to late 1800s and the bottom is marked with impressed numbers and the letter N. Offering for your consideration an unusual Desvres figurine of a Breton lady. Who is a fisherman's wife. She is 7" tall and is posed holding her colorful bag. Which probably holds clams or oysters. She is standing on a multi-colored sponged ground which is 4 1/2" wide. The piece has beautiful. Fresh glaze colors with wonderful cobalt blue tones. She is signed on the base in very fine aubergine script with the number 923. This fine French faience figurine is accompanied by the orginal sale's receipt. She was sold by Francois Piton. The noted authority and author of the Desvres French reference book, C'est du Desvres" The original price was $550 plus $75 shipping from France. A total of $625! A very pretty antique figurine by Sampson& Co of Paris. France. The figuring is beautifully modeled and depicts a young lady. The figurine is hand painted with excellent attention to details. The underglaze blue mark represents Samson& Co and dates from the 1800s. The lady stands 7" high. She is in good overall condition with all of her fingers present, whatever she was holding was made separately because there is no break in the glaze on the inside of her palm. There are many deep clay shrink lines all around her skirt including the perimeter of the purple skirt, white skirt and the base by her feet, see photos.
