Victorian Era Hand Painted French Colbert Bisque Boy & Girl Clamming Figurines
Victorian Era. Hand Painted French Colbert Bisque Boy& Girl at the Seashore Figurines What a wonderful pair of scarce Victorian era(late 1800s) hand painted Bisque child figurines. Rich colors and gilt detail trim. This young pair appear to be at the seashore. Standing with pail and shovel in hand searching for clams or seashells! The young girl has a shovel in her left hand and a bucket in her right hand. The young boy has a shovel in his right hand and holds a bucket in his left hand. Both figures are incised on the reverse side of the base with Colbert's distinctive signature. The children have exceptional details with blonde colored hair. And they are wearing adorable swimming attire, in pale blue with periwinkle blue accents. The girl’s swim dress is adorned with delicate blue flowers on it. The dress is trimmed in gold. Her ... moreface is lovely and she has blue eyes. She is standing in her bare feet and has her dressed pulled up to keep the hem from getting too wet. The boy also has blue floral design on the front legs of his swim attire. Rich colors and gilt trim enhance the delicate bisque and finely colored detail of the face and eyes of these figurines. The toes. Hands and face are exquisitely molded with outstanding detail. They are so realistic and well made they seem almost ready to come to life. The bases feature molded cresting waves and shore in pale blue with light tan accents. The boy stands 12” while the young girl is 11.75” tall. They both measure 6” at their widest point on the base. These pieces have no chips. Cracks or repairs. I believe that each has a slight flaw which probably occurred during firing. There’s a small spot on the boy’s face(see photo#4) and a dark spot on the girl’s left arm just below where her sleeve ends(see photo#5) These very hard to find pieces are priced considerably below their value. Pair Large Antique French Sevres Parian Bisque Putti Figural Vase Covered Urns
~ Antique Sevres Urns ~ This is an early pair of French Sevres parian bisque covered urns decorated with figures of putti holding up swags of roses. A beautiful pair. They are large, each measuring 15 1/2" tall to the top of the lid finials. There are some old repairs. A few tiny nicks to flower petals and base rim, and one of the urns has a crack on the side as shown in the photos, however these pieces are heavy and sturdy and this does not affect the stability. French Bisque Singing Goddess With Lyre C. 1830 A Beautiful Antique French Museum Piece. Of the Highest Quality Workmanship. Her gilded lyre has metal strings; she glances heavenward as she sings. There is an amphora at her feet. Surpassingly lovely. This is the first time I've seen teeth. Top and bottom, painted on a bisque piece- beautifully done The gorgeous gilding and enamel beading is in excellent condition. One of the really wonderful things about this piece is the expertly constructed lyre with its metal strings; they actually pass through the porcelain neck of the lyre and are then secured with metal beads which are meant to simulate the tuning pins. How neat is that? I've added lots o f pictures so you can take a close look- the lyre really is a thing of beauty. You can almost hear the music playing. Pair of Antique French Bisque Porcelain Figurines This listing is for a wonderful pair of antique french bisque porcelain figurines that relate beautifully to each other. They were purchased in 1976 at Le Pappillon. One of Dallas' finest antique shops, which was owned by the late Bertha Louise Ahlchlager. She was known for her exquisite taste and made numourous buying trips to France where she would acquire the finest antique pieces. This large stunning pair of figurines is a beautiful representation of young romance. Both are dressed in detailed 18th century costumes that have been jeweled with raised dots of porcelain. The pair has been extensively hand painted and both have gilt accents applied. The female figure wears a white jeweled chemise. Her pale green and white stripe corset has gilt lacings and is edged with white ruffles. ... moreThe gown is brocaded with blue, pink, and green flowers and edged with white lace that has been jeweled. She holds a gilt edged fan in her hand. Her head is covered in a pale blue marmotte and her blond hair has gilt ribbons. Her feet are adorned in blushing pink slippers with pale blue bows. The male figure is dressed in a white jeweled ruffled shirt, a waistecoat brocaded with flowers and gilt buttons. He wears pale green and white pinstripe brocaded britches, white jeweled stockings, and pale green shoes with white and gilt buckles. He is draped in a white cape with pale yellow lining. Gilt is applied to the edges of the cape. He wears a pale blue beret on his head which was usually worn only by french nobility in the 18th century. Both figures stand approximately 14" tall with bases measuring approximately 6" in diameter. The bases are adorned with handpainted flowers and gilt edges. There is a small vent hole in the base of each figurine. There is another small vent hole in the folds of the cape of the male figure but is barely noticeable. This is an absolutely beautiful bisque porcelain statue by Vion& Baury. She stands 16 1/2" tall. The base measures 5 1/2" across. This is a very heavy piece weighing almost 6 pounds. The attention to detail and quality is amazing! She is in excellent condition with only a few minor flaws. Late 19th century French bisque statue. Figurines of a woman and child. This piece is in excellent condition for its age. The colors and detail are perfect. Some gold detailing on the base has faded. It appears the woman held something in her right hand at one time. The piece has broken off. Her hand is intact and perfect. The other condition issue is a small chip on the inside, top of her hat. VION& BAURY Bisque Porcelain Pair of ANTIQUE FRENCH FIGURINES Godesses of"Fire" and"Water" circa 1850 Offered for your consideration is a pair of museum quality antique figurines. Circa 1850. These are French bisque porcelain figurines of rare, detailed quality. The two figurines depict"La Source" or"Water" and"Le Feu" or"Fire" The figure, Le Feu" is seen warming her hands over a small fire burning in an urn atop a decorative pedestal. Le Source" or"Water" is shown holding a vessel, standing near a stream, perhaps to fill the vessel with fresh water. Both figures are beautifully dressed in filmy. Long gowns of pink, light blue and white, which are decorated with raised gilded designs. One has a gilded belt and both gowns are decorated with gilded borders as ... morewell. Their hands are extremely delicate, as are their facial features, the decorations in their hair, the folds in the apparel, etc. The colors are rich and the hand painted details remain fresh and excellently finished. There is very minimal loss. Which was repaired, many years ago and in need of repair again. The pinkie finger on the right hand of"Fire" figure is missing. Both figurines, other than that, are in marvelous condition. Every fold of their gowns, capes, their hair, facial features, all beautifully rendered. The clear, authentic and recognizable markings can be found on the underside of each base, in the form of a dark green anchor.These lovely creatures stand 16 1/2" tall. These figurines were in our home from as far back as my early childhood. And I acquired them after my parents passed away in 1985.They were in my family's possession from 1935 to present. Here is a charming French terra cotta figurine. This belonged to the mother or grandmother of my father who recently passed away at the age of 90. I believe this piece dates to the first half of the 20th century. The figure measures 5 1/2 inches tall by 3 5/8 inches wide. It is in excellent condition without and chips cracks or losses. The piece is signed in the clay. But I can't quite make it out. It appears to be"Linol" or"Lenol" Certainly someone out there will know! Please note that I'm only able to ship on Saturdays. There are impressed mold numbers 301 located near the back side of the base as pictured. Determined facial expression, biting the small cigar stub(The tip end of the stub has faded a bit, but it is intact. Decorated cobalt blue and gold throughout, the bow is quite a nice touch. Estate Find. Up for auction is this Antique 12" Bisque Girl Figurine which is marked on bottom. Appears to be inscribed with the numbers 466 and a painted#10 on inside edge. Not sure if figurine is French or German as I didn't research it. Bisque is very heavy and has no cracks or hairlines. Only has a little roughness on bottom edge which could be a mold inperfection. Bisque has some stains throughout which I didn't try cleaning. I will leave that up to you. Gold trim on bottom of skirt has some fading. This is a beautiful pair of 16" tall antique Continental and most likely French figurines of a well dressed couple from the late 19th century. Quality and detail is exquisite. Very lifelike expressions on faces and raised intricate beading and decoration details throughout their elaborate dress from head to toe. Not being able to locate a mark at all would date them to earlier than 1892. They do resemble the work of VION& BAURY of Paris especially with the detail on the bases with the very sharp maroon design of C scrolls. About the Vion& Baury manufactory: Did you know? that Vion& Baury(formerly Jean Gille manufactory) was the foremost producer of biscuit ... moreporcelain during the Second Empire? Their figurines won many awards, including the highest award one can receive in France(still to this day) the Légion d'honneur. After they won a gold medal at the London World's Fair in 1851 they were regarded as the best porcelain decorators in Paris(no surprise! Their bisque pieces are in a class by themselves. No other manufactory matches their quality or attention to detail. I especially love the exquisitely modeled hands. Just perfect! And she weighs 13 pounds(5.9 Kg) CONDITION: She is in excellent condition. There some short manufacturing firing/stress lines on the back of her robe- the pen is pointing to them in the close up pictures. Antique French Soldier Doll Bisque Figural Tobacco Box Humidor Figurine Dresden
This is a fabulous and rare fine hand painted figural tobacco jar of a French soldier. I believe he is a Bohemian made piece. The quality is very fine and the colors are exceptional. He displays wonderfully however has some chips. There are three chips to the back of his arm on his blue jacket, very shallow, and one of end of pony tail, end of collar corner, a few to back of arm on that sleeve and one on the rim under the lid. Even though there are several chips, he displays wonderful and you don't really notice the chips at all. A nice large and heavy weighted piece, he measures 9 1/2 inches high by 5 1/2 inches wide and is marked on the bottom with impressed letters and numbers. I was told they are possibly German or French in origin. Acquired at the estate auction of a collector these items are in great shape with no discernible damage I could find- no hairlines.
