A beautiful maiden sits atop two decorative tasseled pillows, and she is helping Cupid as he is struggling to climb up next to her. Cupid's bow and arrows are on the ground at their feet, and the woman holds one golden arrow in her hand. The figure is a nice large size measuring 8 1/2" tall by 7" wide. And it is in excellent condition aside from arrow has tip chip and a few tiny nicks to flower petals/leaves, very minor. This is an absolutely beautiful bisque porcelain statue by Vion& Baury. She stands 16 1/2" tall. The base measures 5 1/2" across. This is a very heavy piece weighing almost 6 pounds. The attention to detail and quality is amazing! She is in excellent condition with only a few minor flaws. There are a couple of chips at the base and one of her hands looks as if it has been repaired. There are some minor imperfections due to age and wear. Please see photos. German? Bisque Porcelain Pair Figurine Man & Woman A Day At The Races
This is for an Antique German porcelain figurine/statue from 1910 to 1930 time frame measuring 10 inches tall. It shows a Victorian couple that looks like they may be at the races. She has looking glasses and he is waving a handkerchief. There is no makers mark only the numbers 1048 impressed on the side and on the bottom. The detail is wonderful, looks like they are standing near some ice. The colors are mainly Beige and Burgundy with gold trim. The condition is good but there has been some repair. He head has been glued back, ever hard to see, the tip of the handkerchief is missing and there is some loss of paint. Please look closely at all my photos as they are part of my description.
