Crown Staffordshire House Wren Bird Figurine Linley Adams Made in England Mark
Offered for your consideration is this fantastic bird marked with the second Crown Staffordshire mark. And signed by artist and designer Barbara Linley Adams. She also marked it"House Wren" and the number 259. This bird measures approximately 3 3/8" in height. The mark on the bottom is in excellent legible condition. According to websites regarding the dating of Crown Staffordshire. It seems to indicate the bird was made between 1906 and 1930. However, I do not believe this is accurate as the designer, Barbara Linley-Adams, died in 1995. She was known to work there as late as 1962, but I do not know how early she started working there. Antique Ceramic Pottery Bunny Rabbit Figure Figurine. China, America, England ?
I bought this one last weekend at a local rummage sale here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am not an expert on ceramic figures but am confident that this is an old one. How old and from where? I honestly have no idea. The bunny is about 7.5 inches tall. 10 inches long and 5.5 inches wide. It's quite heavy and weighs a little over 4 lbs. There is a moulding seam that runs exactly through the middle. Except for the mouth, where it verges of slightly to the left. There is some overall crazing here and there(like on the inside the ears. On top of the head and under the belly) There are two very small chips, both on a toe: the first one at its front left paw, the other at the paw behind it(see last two pictures for a close-up) Both chips are near the bottom and very obscure; you only can really spot them when you pick the piece up and hold ... moreit at an angle or upside down. Otherwise I couldn't find anything wrong with this piece of pottery. The bottom has a small vent hole on the bottom. But no marks. Up for your consideration is a figurine known as Dick Turpin. He is sitting on a black horse who has a grey muzzle and hoofs. This version of Turpin has him with brown hair and mustache and black eyes and brows. This statue stands just shy of 8 1/2" tall. The base it sits on is 4 3/4" X 2" There is crazing throughout. There are no chips. Cracks, fading or other issues except that the base shows grime and I've made no attempt at removing it. It is marked on the bottom Made in England. ANTIQUE ENGLAND CROWN STAFFORDSHIRE CERAMIC CANDELABRA FIGURINE EARLY 1900 RARE
For Sale is a Ceramic Figurine with Candelabra made by Crown Staffordshire Porcelain Company. The piece is from the early 1900s and has the Crown Staffordshire printed stamp on the bottom(I was told it was from 1906 from an antique dealer. But there is no actual date that I can see on the bottom stamp, which is pretty worn) The piece is approximately 8" tall and 7 1/2" wide(at its widest point) The piece is in good condition. Except for a crack on one side where the figure's arm joins the candelabra(please see close up pictures of crack- it can be seen all the way around) I'm not sure if it has ever been glued where this crack is. There are also obvious signs of crazing in the glaze. The piece is very elegant and I haven't seen anything quite like it in researching this company. There is no reserve. Vintage J. Wilkinson owl figurine from a local estate. The piece shows age wear. And has a chip on bottom around edge shown in photos. Also a couple small chips around edge of head. Height of the figurine is approximately 2 1/2" with a width of 1 5/8"
