There are minor chips in the porcelain glaze at the rider’s right front shoulder; to the rider’s waist, behind, center; to the back side of the horse’s right leg; at the edge of the horse’s stomach, right side, center; and at the rider’s left elbow. There is as well a scattering of minute porcelain chips throughout, and the top of the horse’s right ear is also chipped. Other than cleaning, there has been no restoration work. This is a very beautiful vintage figurine from Germany. I purchased it from the estate of a lady who had been in the military and lived in Germany with her husband for several years before returning the U.S. They had an extensive collection of things from Germany. This being one of them. It is a lady sitting at a piano with a man teaching her. There are so many details, like tiny little flowers and her hat, the ruffles on the cuff of his shirt. Very pretty. They have impressed Roman numerals(II, III, V, and X) on the backs of their bases- I think they may be muses. Please excuse the reflections in the pictures. SIZE: The tallest figurine is approximately 8 inches high. CONDITION: The figurine with the predominately green clothes(the one with the small animal peeking out from her cape) has loss to the tips of three fingers on her left hand. There are no other chips. Cracks, or repairs. There are a few small firing flaws, but none that are in any way distracting. I have included pictures all around all the figurines from all angles. This auction is for a Rare Antique Chelsea Putti Figurine circa 1750. The figurine measures approximately 5 3/4 inches high. The figurine is marked on the bottom with collection stickers- it has two generations of collection stickers- the most recent collection was the MacHarg Collection and the one previous was the Ex Luccock Collection dated 28/1/43. The figurine has suffered some damage over the years- it has damage to two of the birds in the nest and a crack in part way through the nest plus some minor chips to the leaves and flowers- please see close-up photos. The figurine exhibits three dirty looking circles on its base- for those possibly not as familiar with the early Chelsea figurines. A superb pair of 19th century Meissenporcelain figurine 4 branch candlestick holders exquisitely decorated withapplied flowers with one featuring man and putto and the other featuring a lady and putto sitting on the base. Attributed to the Meissen modelerLeuteritz. These are absolutely gorgeousand have several chips(as expected for this age) to the flower petals and leaves. The figures have all fingers& toes intact there are no cracks or repairs. Both are stamped on the base with the blue crossed swords and incised with the number 84 and one is marked with a red 16. Antique German Bisque Victorian Couple Small Figurine - Marked 4 Times
Here is a really nice old porcelain bisque figurine- nicely detailed. In great condition- no chips. No cracks, no repairs- needs minor cleaning if desired. This is marked four times- on backside it is incised 9027 and Germany- on bottom it is stamped Germany and on the inside the number 27 is incised. Stands just 2 3/8 inches tall- unusual to find the old German bisque quite this little- very nice. Any questions or for more pictures please email me. Pair 4" Antique 19th c English Staffordshire Begging Spaniel Dog Figurine NO RES
DESCRIPTION: NO RESERVE for a pair of small-size pair of Antique 19th century English Staffordshire Begging Spaniel Dog Figurines. Measure about 4" tall each. Please note. A true pair and the dog's positions reverse such that they are facing each other when the figurines are placed side-by-side(pic#1) Appear hand-modelled and not from molds and please note how one of the dogs is a little shorter and fatter than the other as can be seen especially in pic#4. Probably early- to mid- 19th century Staffordshire. These are marked with a red anchor on the underside as shown. The red anchor mark is most closely associated with Chelsea, but a lot of the early Staffordshire makers used spurious Chelsea marks and these are probably ca. 1820- 1860 Staffordshire. CONDITION: Some paint loss and tiny chips to the applied grass and flowers on the ... morebase of each figurine as shown. Minor and not detracting and please see pics. Otherwise, no issues. No chips, cracks or repairs. Very little wear to the paint or the gold. I include honest pics taken fom every angle in strong light of the exact figgurines you will receive.
